Egypt, Saudi Arabia FMs praise strong bilateral ties

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan, reaffirming the strength of relations and the historical and fraternal bonds between the two nations.
They praised the significant growth of these ties under the directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The ministers stated that such developing relations are reflected in distinguished cooperation and ongoing coordination between the two countries across all areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as on regional and international files of mutual concern.
The call comes as part of the ongoing coordination and the eternal fraternal relations between Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The call reflected harmony in visions and stances between the two sisterly countries and their shared desire to further strengthen bilateral relations and work towards political and diplomatic solutions to the crises affecting the region and the world.
Both ministers discussed developments in the region, particularly the Palestinian cause and the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip and addressed ongoing efforts to resume a ceasefire in Gaza.
Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's intensive communications with all parties to reach a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
They also discussed the upcoming conference on the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, which Egypt plans to host in cooperation with the United Nations and the Palestinian government once a ceasefire is achieved.
The ministers reviewed intensive communications underway to solidify the ceasefire between Iran and Israel and resume negotiations on Iran's nuclear program in a manner that contributes to de-escalation and the achievement of calm.
They also exchanged views on developments in Sudan and the Levant (Arab Mashreq) region.
The ministers agreed to continue consultations and coordination to serve mutual interests and support security and stability in the region, in line with the directives of their countries' leaderships.

Hamas, Israel resume talks as Netanyahu set to meet Trump - War on Gaza

Hamas and Israel were resuming talks in Qatar on Monday, a Palestinian official said, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu travelled to Washington to meet President Donald Trump, who has pushed for a "deal this week" between the foes. The latest round of negotiations on the war in Gaza began on Sunday in Doha, aiming to broker a ceasefire and reach an agreement on the release of captives in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. "Indirect negotiations are scheduled to take place before noon today in Doha between the Hamas and Israeli delegations to continue discussions" on the proposal, a Palestinian official familiar with the negotiations told AFP. Ahead of Netanyahu's third visit since Trump's return to office this year, the US president said there was a "good chance" of reaching an agreement. "We've gotten a lot of the hostages out, but about the remaining hostages, quite a few of them will be coming out," he told journalists. Netanyahu, speaking before heading to Washington, said his meeting with Trump could "definitely help advance this" deal. The US president is pushing for a truce in the Gaza Strip, which has been plunged into a humanitarian crisis after nearly two years of war. Netanyahu said he dispatched the team to Doha with "clear instructions" to reach an agreement "under the conditions that we have agreed to". He previously said Hamas's response to a draft US-backed ceasefire proposal, conveyed through Qatari and Egyptian mediators, contained "unacceptable" demands. 'Important mission' Two Palestinian sources close to the discussions had earlier told AFP the proposal included a 60-day truce, during which Hamas would release 10 living captives and several bodies in exchange for Palestinians detained by Israel. However, they said, the group was also demanding certain conditions for Israel's withdrawal, guarantees against a resumption of fighting during negotiations, and the return of the UN-led aid distribution system. Netanyahu has an "important mission" in Washington, "advancing a deal to bring all our hostages home", said Israeli President Isaac Herzog. Trump is not scheduled to meet the Israeli premier until 6:30 pm (2230 GMT) Monday, the White House said, without the usual presence of journalists. Of the 251 captives taken by Palestinian militants during the 2023 attack, 49 are still being held in Gaza, including 27, the Israeli military says, are dead. Since Israel's war on Gaza in October 2023, mediators have brokered two temporary halts in the fighting. They have seen captives freed in exchange for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli custody. Recent efforts to broker a new truce have repeatedly failed, with the primary point of contention being Israel's rejection of Hamas's demand for a lasting ceasefire. 'Enough blood' In Gaza, the territory's civil defence agency reported 12 people killed in gunfire or strikes on Monday. AFP has contacted the Israeli military for comment. "We are losing young people, families and children every day, and this must stop now," Gaza resident Osama al-Hanawi told AFP. "Enough blood has been shed." Media restrictions in Gaza and difficulties in accessing many areas mean AFP is unable to independently verify the tolls and details provided by the civil defence agency. Hundreds killed seeking aid The Israeli war has created dire humanitarian conditions for the more than two million people in the Gaza Strip. A US- and Israel-backed group, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), took the lead in food distribution in the territory in late May, when Israel partially lifted a more than two-month blockade on aid deliveries. But its operations have had a chaotic rollout, with repeated reports of aid seekers killed near its facilities while awaiting rations. UN agencies and major aid groups have refused to cooperate with the GHF over concerns that it was designed to cater to Israeli military objectives. The UN human rights office said last week that more than 500 people have been killed waiting to access food from GHF distribution points. The health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza on Sunday placed the toll even higher, at 751 killed. Israel's war on Gaza has killed at least 57,418 Palestinians, mostly civilians, according to the Hamas-run territory's health ministry. The United Nations considers the figures reliable. New details emerge on Gaza ceasefire proposal - War on Gaza

New details of the Gaza ceasefire proposal emerged as Israel sent a negotiating team to Qatar ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu 's White House visit for talks toward an agreement. 'There are 20 hostages that are alive, 30 dead. I am determined, we are determined, to bring them all back. And we will also be determined to ensure that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel,' Netanyahu said on Sunday before departing, emphasizing the goal of eliminating Hamas' military and governing power. A person familiar with the negotiations shared with The Associated Press a copy of the latest ceasefire proposal submitted by mediators to Hamas, and its veracity was confirmed by two other people familiar with the document. All three spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the sensitive talks with the media. The document outlines plans for a 60-day ceasefire during which Hamas would hand over 10 living and 18 dead captives, Israeli forces would withdraw to a buffer zone along Gaza's borders with Israel and Egypt, and significant amounts of aid would be brought in. The document says the aid would be distributed by United Nations agencies and the Palestinian Red Crescent. It does not specify what would happen to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, the American organization that has distributed food aid since May. Israel wants it to replace the U.N.-coordinated system. A Trump guarantee As in previous ceasefire agreements, Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli facilities would be released in exchange for the captives, but the number is not yet agreed upon. The proposal stops short of guaranteeing a permanent end to the war — a condition demanded by Hamas -- but says negotiations for a permanent ceasefire would take place during the 60 days. During that time, 'President (Donald) Trump guarantees Israel's adherence' to halting military operations, the document says, adding that Trump 'will personally announce the ceasefire agreement.' The personal guarantee by Trump appeared to be an attempt to reassure Hamas that Israel would not unilaterally resume fighting as it did in March during a previous ceasefire, when talks to extend it appeared to stall. Trump said last week that Israel had agreed on terms for a 60-day ceasefire, but it was unclear if the terms were those in the document reviewed by the AP. Hamas has requested some changes but has not specified them. Rift over ending the war Ahead of the indirect talks with Hamas in Qatar, Netanyahu's office asserted that the group was seeking 'unacceptable' changes to the ceasefire proposal. Hamas gave a 'positive' response late Friday to the latest proposal. The group has sought guarantees that the initial truce would lead to a total end to the war and withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza. Previous negotiations have stalled over Hamas demands of guarantees that further negotiations would lead to the war's end, while Netanyahu has insisted Israel would resume fighting. Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel's army has killed over 57,000 Palestinians, more than half of them women and children. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:

Five killed, others injured in new RSF shelling of El Fasher, North Darfur

Amir Hagag The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched a new attack on El Fasher. The artillery shelling of a market in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, killed at least five people and injured others. The RSF attacks on markets in El Fasher, which is under severe siege, have led to a significant increase in the prices of essential goods in the city, reducing citizens' ability to purchase. The RSF continues to escalate its long-range artillery attacks, targeting various areas in El Fasher, ignoring UN calls for a week-long humanitarian truce to deliver food and medicine to those trapped inside the city. Local sources reported that five people were killed and others injured as a result of an artillery shell fired by the RSF on the Naivasha market in the Abu Shouk camp for displaced persons. Residents of the camp, located north of El Fasher, are living in dire conditions. Health centers are out of service, medicines are scarce, and food supplies are scarce. The situation has worsened after communal kitchens were shut down, with only one exception. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
