'I think for me the idea of looking a certain way in my late 20s, that's when it started to hit me because my stamina was low, I wasn't looking after my body, I was getting sick a lot and I didn't feel like my body was hot,' Rita said.
'And I didn't accept the idea of okay well I'm not as thin as these other people - and so I'm ugly. And that's really sad to think back on because I know I wasn't.
'It's like what you do when you're attacking your younger self like in therapy, and it's like that girl was still really beautiful.'
Sharing the clip on Instagram on Wednesday, Rita wrote: 'I sat down with @Dove and @HappyPlaceOfficial to share why I believe body confidence starts with self care focusing on what your body needs - not what it looks like.
'Proud to partner with the Dove Self Esteem Project on #Why2k - together we're rewriting the rules and helping women build body confidence.'

It comes after Rita recently revealed how Beyoncé has always been her 'protector' as she discussed being hit by speculation that she was 'Becky with the good hair'.
Beyoncé's smash hit 2016 album Lemonade featured poignant lyrics about cheating and she sang about the mysterious woman in her track Sorry.
Fans widely speculated it referred to alleged infidelity by Beyoncé's husband Jay-Z with a woman called 'Becky', and theories began circulating online about her identity.
Rita found herself at the centre of the rumours as she was wrongly accused of having an affair with Jay-Z, with the singer forced to hit back and deny the claims.
Now, Rita - who was represented by Jay-Z's Roc Nation label at the time - revealed she was so upset by the claims because Beyoncé has always been her 'protector'.
Speaking on Davina McCall's Begin Again podcast, Rita explained: 'Behind closed doors, [Beyoncé] is literally my fairy godmother, she was my protector - that's what's insane because there was nothing but love.'

Fashion fans react to Vogue's use of AI models
Vogue 's August issue has sparked controversy by featuring an AI -generated model in a double-page advertisement for the fashion label Guess. The AI model was created by Seraphinne Vallora, an agency specialising in AI-driven marketing campaigns, and was identified by a fine print label. The use of an AI model has drawn mixed reactions from readers, with many expressing concern over its implications for beauty standards and the fashion industry. Plus-size model Felicity Hayward criticised the move as "lazy and cheap," warning it could undermine efforts towards greater diversity in fashion. This development follows a recent multi-year partnership between OpenAI and Condé Nast, Vogue's publisher, to integrate content into ChatGPT search results.

Konnie Huq recalls 'mortifying' wardrobe malfunction at the BAFTAs in a glitzy dress: 'My boobs exploded!'
Konnie Huq has revealed a 'mortifying' moment at the 2016 BAFTAs when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet. The presenter, 49, who shares sons shares Covie, 14, and Huxley, 11, with husband Charlie Brooker, opened up about the mishap as she appeared on Fabulous' No Parental Guidance podcast. She explained that at the time of the awards ceremony she was breastfeeding Huxley, who was five months old at the time. Konnie confessed that as a result her breasts ended up 'exploding with milk'. She recalled: 'I would leave the house before the baby had woken up. I'd wake up at five, had to express milk, leave the house before I'd even seen the baby.' 'I needed us to finish early. And if we didn't, I'd sit there with my boobs so in pain.' She continued: 'I was once at the BAFTAs in a sheer dress. I remember having to go to the toilets and then stuff loads of, like, tissue in my bra - and actually squeeze my boobs. 'Thank God, the red carpet bit is first because I could see two stains on me - not a good look'. Konnie became an on-screen favourite when she appeared as a CBBC Blue Peter presenter. She met her Black Mirror creator husband during an episode of his show, Screenwipe, in 2009 and they became engaged nine months later, in June 2010. Previously, the Blue Peter star admitted that she pressured Charlie into having marriage and babies in the early days of their relationship. Konnie said she gave the TV creator an ultimatum so that neither of them wasted their time with one another. Speaking on Sophie Ellis-Bextor's podcast Spinning Plates in 2022, Konnie said she always wanted to have children and feared Charlie didn't feel the same, so the conversation and deal breaker immediately came up. 'I always wanted to have kids... I always thought I'd have three kids and then I had two and was like, ''I'm done now,'' she began. 'But weirdly, Charlie didn't think he ever wanted kids. So when we got together, I was like, "if you're not a having kids kind of person than we're not compatible" But it turns out he was.' 'But he is really good with kids which you might not think cause of his miserable alter ego, but Charlie is a lamb in wolf's clothing.' Speaking about tying the knot so fast after meeting each other, Konnie said that at the time, her 'body clock was ticking'. 'I was in my mid-thirties and when you're in your mid-thirties with your body clock ticking, you sort of think, "I don't want to be in another relationship without it going anywhere", she said.
