Hooked on fishing: Game fish still on the bite
Rock and surf angling has not been great over the past week or so, with anglers having to hunt around somewhat for good spots.
There were some shad caught at Station Bay and at The Block in Port Shepstone.
A few were caught off the pier at Margate. Game fishing was good, with garrick, salmon and grunter on the bite.
The sardines are still around and after the recent cold front, it looks like there may be more on the way.
Local angler, Steven Moodley, was hopeful that with more sardines potentially on the way, that fishing should be good from Thursday.
Remember, responsible fishing is keeping the shoreline as clean as possible and abiding by the bag limits.

Brace yourself for the 5-day water shutdown starting next week

Brace yourself for the 5-day water shutdown starting next week The maintenance on Witbank Water Treatment Works, Old Coronation Bulk Water Pipeline, Point B Reservoir, Point D Reservoir Pump Station, and Point D 5 Megalitre Reservoir has been postponed for a week. The maintenance is now scheduled to start on July 21. All areas supplied by Reservoirs Point A, B, C, D, and E will be affected. The municipality anticipates that the shutdown will only take five days. After the maintenance, reservoirs will be refilled and the water system recharged. Full restoration of supply may take up to three days to normalise across all areas. 'Water tankers and JoJo tanks will be arranged and dispatched to all affected communities to ensure access to water throughout the shutdown,' was the word from the municipality.
