Diddy's Lawyer Slams 'Horrible' Brooklyn Jail: 'He Hasn't Seen Sunlight In 11 Months'

Sean 'Diddy' Combs, ex-CEO of Revolt, faces harsh conditions in Brooklyn's MDC since his arrest last September. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, criticizes the jail's brutal environment.
Sean 'Diddy" Combs' legal team is calling out what they describe as inhumane conditions at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), where the music mogul has been held for almost 11 months. Following a partial conviction in a federal case that saw him cleared of sex trafficking and racketeering charges, Combs continues to serve time for violations under the Mann Act which prohibits the transportation of individuals for prostitution across state lines.
Attorney Marc Agnifilo, who represented Combs through the high-profile trial, is now urging the court to reconsider the terms of his confinement. Speaking to Variety, Agnifilo criticised the detention centre for keeping inmates entirely indoors. 'One of the horrible things about the MDC is not going outside ever," he said. 'It's sort of like sensory deprivation." Agnifilo noted that Combs has not been exposed to fresh air or sunlight since his arrest last September. 'He wants to get out and be with his family."
Combs was taken into custody following simultaneous raids on his properties in Miami and Los Angeles by Homeland Security investigators under the Biden administration. Since then, he has remained in custody, largely isolated, and has reportedly kept to himself. 'He's learned a lot," Agnifilo said. 'His time in jail has given him the ability to reflect and consider his life… his seven children, the fact that he's still close with the mothers of his children, and the life he's been given."
The rapper and producer, Agnifilo added, spends much of his time writing essays and thinking deeply about his past. 'His view is: 'Have I lived up to the blessings I've been given?' And I think his conclusion is: 'Not in every aspect of my life have I lived up to those blessings.'" He also revealed that Combs is working on initiatives to support fellow inmates during his time behind bars.
Although former President Donald Trump has indicated he is unlikely to grant clemency, citing a strained relationship, Agnifilo acknowledged that someone from Combs' circle did reach out. 'I do not purport to know the president's mind. I really don't know," he added.
Combs' legal team has now filed a 62-page motion seeking to overturn the guilty verdicts or initiate a retrial.

‘Cat Meat Tastes Better Than Human': Kerala Man's Grisly Instagram Story Triggers Probe

Last Updated: A video of Shajeer, a lorry driver from Cherpulassery, killing a cat and sharing it on Instagram has sparked outrage in Kerala. Police are investigating and trying to locate him. A disturbing video of a man killing a cat and sharing the footage on Instagram has triggered outrage in Kerala, prompting a police investigation. The accused has been identified as Shajeer, a lorry driver from Cherpulassery in Palakkad district. The video, posted as an Instagram Story from the account 'Shajeer_Tool', first showed the cat being fed. What followed was far more horrifying as another clip showing the cat's head and body parts separated was uploaded. As the footage circulated on social media, users flagged it to the police. Cherpulassery police have launched a probe and are verifying the authenticity of the video. Preliminary findings suggest Shajeer is currently in Tamil Nadu. The police are trying to trace his exact location. According to Kerala Kaumudi, when questioned informally about the act, Shajeer allegedly said, 'Cat meat tastes better than human meat." Authorities are still trying to establish where the video was filmed. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation. Under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, killing or maiming an animal is a punishable offence. The new law, part of the overhaul that replaced the Indian Penal Code, clearly states that anyone who kills, poisons, or renders an animal useless can face up to five years in jail, a fine, or both. The act may also attract charges under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, which lays down additional penalties for causing unnecessary pain or suffering to animals. While extreme cases of consuming pets are rare in India, this is not an isolated incident. In Chennai, residents in July 2025 sounded the alarm over a group of youths from the Narikorava community allegedly trapping and killing residential cats for meat, later selling it to roadside eateries as chicken or mutton biryani, according to a report by the Times Of India. Pet owners across areas like Tiruvottiyur and Ambattur complained of missing cats, calling for urgent police action. view comments First Published: August 04, 2025, 22:09 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Sword of goddess Tuljabhavani safe, says temple trust

Last Updated: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug 4 (PTI) Shri Tuljabhawani Temple Sansthan has clarified that the sword of the goddess is safe and not stolen as alleged by some priests last week. 'It was alleged earlier that the sword had been stolen, which is not true. The sword was used earlier in a ritual by Ganeshwar Dravid Shastri of Varanasi in June. The sword has been handed over to the head of Wakojibuwa mutt for performing daily rituals on the sword," the temple trust stated in a release. Some priests of the Tuljabhavani temple on Saturday alleged that the sword of the goddess had gone missing. The ancient Shree Tulaja Bhavani Temple is considered one of the 51 Shakti Pithas located on the banks of the Mandakini River in Dharashiv district of Maharashtra. The goddess is considered the 'kuldevi" (clan deity) of several Maratha families. view comments First Published: August 04, 2025, 21:30 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
