From the great big fights to the super stretchy tights, there are just some things that you come to an expect from a superhero film. But there's also something else on everyone's mind as they head to the big screen to check out the one and only Superman. With the DCU's big future ahead and planned out, there's definitely more to come for this boy scout. But does the big movie give us a peek as to what to expect next or does it decide to break tradition?
Here's everything you need to know about the end-credit scenes in Superman.
Considering the fact that Superman is kicking-off a new part of the DCU, it would be really surprising if it decided to skip out on the post-credit scenes. Luckily, viewers actually get two scenes: one in the mid-credits and a second at the end-credits. at fandango.com
In the very sweet and brief mid-credits scene, you see Clark as Superman on the moon with none other than Krypto. Seems like he couldn't get away from the very good boy for long and they decided to get a good view of Earth from up in space together!
Then there's the end-credits scene that features both Superman and Mr. Terrific. They're back in Metropolis where they look at a building that was in the middle of the giant fault that just split the city in two. Unfortunately, it's just a little bit off... Clark tells Terrific this, who is obviously upset about the situation and starts to walk away. While he tries to apologize to his fellow hero for making him upset, Clark also gets upset with himself and says, 'Darn it, I can be such a jerk sometimes…'
And, yes, that's literally it. We did get a sneak peek of Milly Alcock as Supergirl before her big movie next year at the end of the film, so that's a plus at least! Unfortunately, we're going to have to wait a bit longer to find out what James Gunn has left up his sleeve for this universe.

‘Superman' Can't Save Hollywood From Superhero Fatigue

James Gunn's much-discussed reboot of Superman is a hit, rustling up $125 million domestically and another $95 million from 79 international markets, but the coverage of its success isn't merely that of a blockbuster. ''Superman' Saves the Day for DC Studios,' announced the Hollywood Reporter, while a New York Times headline noted, 'With $217 Million in Ticket Sales, 'Superman' Helps Save Warner Bros., Too.' In a high-profile relaunch with such oversized stakes, it's tempting to latch on to a 'Superman saves the day' narrative. Perhaps, in light of these record-breaking returns, not only Warner Bros. Discovery and DC but the comic book movie itself has been brought back from the precipice of death. Hollywood executives would be wise to temper their excitement about the subgenre, though, because the truth is a bit more complicated.

The Many Takes on Superman: Gruff, Charming or Menschy?

Kal-El, Man of Steel, Last Son of Krypton: Superman has many names, and also many faces when it comes to live-action takes on the hero. With the release of 'Superman,' David Corenswet joins the society of actors who have played arguably the most famous of all superheroes. But Superman, more so than a lot of his superpowered peers, often serves more as a symbol than a fully drawn character. Below is a rundown of some of the most prominent depictions of Superman in the last few decades and what these actors brought to their embodiments of the Man of Tomorrow. Superman I-IV (1978-87) The Archetype Christopher Reeve set the standard for a live-action Superman, creating a pop culture phenomenon on the big screen. Now the trend for those taking on the role is to find new angles on the hero, to modernize or subvert the character. Much of that can be attributed to Reeve's portrayal, which was that of a quintessential comic book savior. His Superman is confident, upstanding and authoritative, and between his powers and his unimpeachable sense of justice, he's downright unstoppable — as when he reverses the Earth's rotation to go back in time to save a life. Whether he's posed with his arms crossed in judgment of a foe or standing fists on waist and arms akimbo at the end of a battle, there's a machismo power in his bearing. And his disarming smile and self-assured voice, which occasionally offers calm but firm scoldings to wrongdoers, paint him as a hero of the people. These early Superman movies were less about developing the character and more about reinforcing fans' love for the original figure. Iggy Pop on Closing Out ‘Superman' Soundtrack: Hero is 'the Best Friend You Could Have'

James Gunn has a way with a movie soundtrack. That much became obvious with his 'Awesome Mix' from the Guardians of the Galaxy films, which featured '70s soul jams like Blue Swede's 'Hooked on a Feeling' and Redbone's 'Come and Get Your Love,' and the edgier The Suicide Squad soundtrack, which moved into '80s punk territory with The Jim Carroll Band's 'People Who Died' and 'Hey' by Pixies. The song underscores the blockbuster's sweetly emotional final scene and continues into the closing credits, capping the well-reviewed and well-attended DC Studios reboot on just the right note of poignant-cool. Pop, 78, is tickled at playing such a key role in one of the summer's biggest hits. 'I always thought the track had soul,' he tells The Hollywood Reporter from Europe, where he is currently on tour. 'Superman is the best friend you could have.' The Man of Steel could turn out to be a good friend to Pop in more ways than one. 'Punkrocker' saw significant gains after opening weekend; according to data from Luminate, the song went from 1,572 streams on July 4 to nearly 190,500 on July 12, the day after Superman's opening night. Another song on the Superman soundtrack, '5 Years Time' — a 2007 folk rock single from the English band Noah and the Whale — had just over 7,300 streams on July 4, but by July 12 had gone up to 85,400, a 1000 percent increase. Only time will tell if those gains are a sign of more significant boosts to come. 'Hooked on a Feeling' and 'Come and Get Your Love' saw significant resurgences because of their prominent placements in Guardians films. The Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 went triple-platinum, while Vol. 2 for the second film went platinum. Ethan Millman contributed to this report.
