The truth about Becky ‘to be revealed' in Coronation Street as Lisa is quizzed
Becky was a police officer who was killed while she was at work. She was chasing a suspect, who jumped into a getaway car and smashed into her, killing her instantly.
Recently Lisa revealed some more of the circumstances surrounding the death. Becky was under investigation by the anti-corruption unit at the time of her death.
It seems that Lisa might not have been as supportive as she could have been, because the couple argued on the day of Becky's death as the stress of the investigation took its toll. As Becky left for work for what would be the last time, she and Lisa were still mid-argument, which obviously was very hard for Lisa to bear.
Lisa also told Carla (Alison King) that, although the investigation was dropped, Becky never got the same kind of hero's send-off that Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) – who also died in the line of duty – had been given.
This was obviously a huge source of regret for Lisa and something that made Craig's funeral all the harder to bear. She told Carla that her wife never got the funeral she deserved.
There are a lot of questions still to be answered about Becky's death. The driver of the car was Logan Radcliffe (Harry Lowbridge), and Betsy (Sydney Martin) visited him in prison to try to get some answers about how her mum died. He spun a story that turned out to be completely made up and Betsy was no further forward.

When Carla suggests that it would be helpful for Lisa to go to therapy to try to help sort out her feelings about what happened, Lisa reluctantly agrees.
But very quickly the therapy session becomes uncomfortable for her as difficult questions are raised and she's faced with confronting things that she's kept buried for a long time.

Ex-EastEnders star Ben Hardy spotted kissing Utopia actress at Hyde Park gig
Ben Hardy, who played Peter Beale in EastEnders from 2013 to 2015 and has since been in X-Men: Apocalypse, was snapped at a Sabrina Carpenter gig in central London Former EastEnders star Ben Hardy was seen kissing actress Emilia Jones at a Sabrina Carpenter gig in Hyde Park. Ben, 34, "couldn't keep his hands off" the actress, who has been in Utopia, Doctor Who, and Locke & Key among other dramas. Ben, who played Peter Beale in EastEnders from 2013 to 2015, was "trying to kiss her at almost any opportunity," an insider said. Thousands of revellers gathered in Hyde Park, central London, to watch Sabrina Carpenter, who is currently on a world tour. The 26-year-old singer did two gigs in Hyde Park - one on Saturday and another on Sunday. Ben, who since leaving EastEnders, has been in X-Men: Apocalypse and was Queen drummer Roger Taylor 2018's Bohemian Rhapsody, appeared to enjoy Emilia's company at the event. The source said: "Ben couldn't keep his hands off her and was trying to kiss her at almost any opportunity. She didn't seem to object and was all smiles." Inside Soap Awards 2025 nominations in full as major category returns after six years Emilia, the 23-year-old daughter of singer Aled Jones, starred in 2021 film Coda, playing the child of deaf parents. The performer, who grew up in Barnes, southwest London, received a BAFTA nomination for this portrayal. It is unclear how long she and Ben, born in Bournemouth, Dorset, have been dating. However, it is Emilia was previously in a relationship with Irish Eurovision star Conor O'Donohoe. Ben, meanwhile, dated House of the Dragon actresses Olivia Cooke in 2020 followed by fellow EastEnder Jessica Plummer in 2021. They split in March 2023 after "growing apart," it is said. Ben had told reporters he decided to leave the soap so he did not regret "not trying for his dreams". He has, indeed, since forged work in films, including X-Men: Apocalypse, which received mixed reviews. Speaking in May 2016, Ben said: "I just left really. It's one of those things you've got to just get out there to do otherwise I might find myself waking up in 10 years wondering what could have been." His character, Peter, has been played by several actors since his arrival as a baby in 1993. Thomas Law portrayed Peter in his teenage years before Ben was introduced. Thomas, who has also been in The Bay on ITV, now has the role again, returning in 2023 after a 13-year absence.

Inside Soap Awards 2025 nominations are REVEALED with iconic category set to make surprise return after six years
The nominations for the 2025 Inside Soap Awards have been revealed, with one category set to make a surprise return after six years away. After a string of iconic characters have bid farewell in recent months, bosses have brought back the Best Exit award. A whole host of gripping storylines and showstopping moments, along with the iconic characters at the forefront of them, lead this year's nominations. These include Corrie's Debbie being diagnosed with dementia, Phil's mental health struggles in EastEnders, Robert crashing Aaron and John's wedding in Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks ' hard-hitting teen sexual exploitation plot. It comes at a time where many of TV's biggest soaps are facing huge shake-ups, with ITV favourites Coronation Street and Emmerdale set to have their weekly episode counts slashed in 2026. Once again, a string of big names will battle it out for Best Actor, including Corrie's Jack P Shepherd, Emmerdale's Danny Miller and EastEnders' Steve McFadden. Meanwhile nominees for Best Actress include Corrie's Sue Devanet, EastEnders' Lacey Turner, and Hollyoaks' Jennifer Metcalfe. Nominations for Best Storyline once again include Debbie's battle with dementia on Corrie, Phil's mental health struggles in EastEnders, Joe Tate's fight for survival on Emmerdale, and Cleo's shocking abuse ordeal in Hollyoaks. 'The Inside Soap Awards remain the only trophies of their kind to be voted for entirely by the real experts – the soap viewing public,' said Inside Soap magazine editor Sarah Ellis. ' 'Over 90,000 soap fans vote each and every year; and in addition to our list of nominees, our Soap Superstar category allows readers to put forward their own suggestions of who they feel deserves to be honoured. 'The past 12 months have been an epic time in soap, and I can't wait to see who the readers of Inside Soap have decided to crown their favourites this year.' 2025 also sees the return of the Best Exit category, paying tribute to those characters who've either met tragic ends, or moved on to pastures new this year. 'Sadly, we've had to say goodbye to some truly beloved soap characters over the past 12 months,' Sarah said. ''Who didn't cry their eyes out at Martin's shock death during EastEnders' live episode? 'And we're still not over poor Craig's tragic demise in Corrie, or the loss of Leyla and Amy in the devastating Emmerdale limo crash. But it's up to the fans which exit will get their vote.' Voting for the Inside Soap Awards 2025 opens at midday on Tuesday, July 8, and winners will be announced at a star-studded ceremony in London this September. Fans can vote online by visiting or by filling in the voting form in the Inside Soap magazine. The move comes after it was revealed earlier this year how ITV bosses are slashing their soaps' episode count. Emmerdale currently airs six episodes weekly, Monday to Friday with a double bill on Thursdays. Meanwhile, Coronation Street also airs six episodes per week, with two episodes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Next year, only five 30-minute episodes of each show will air - a real terms cut to soap broadcast time of 17%. Bosses will introduce a soaps power hour from Monday to Friday with 30-minute Emmerdale episodes airing at 8pm and 30-minute Coronation Street episodes airing at 8:30pm. However, the start of the new 2026 schedule will at least be marked in style, as both soaps embark on an ambitious, never-before-seen stunt as part of a week of special episodes. Defending the changes, ITV's Managing Director of Media and Entertainment Kevin Lygo said: 'The new commissioning pattern is viewer-led. 'We already give more choice than ever to viewers on how they watch us through ITVX and we want to present their favourite soap to them, in the most digestible way.' 'In a world where there is so much competition for viewers' time and attention, and viewing habits continue to change, we believe this is the right amount of episodes that fans can fit into their viewing schedule, to keep up to date with the shows.' Over on the BBC, fans can watch new episodes of EastEnders from 6am on iPlayer before they're broadcast that evening on BBC One.
