Chirag Paswan Vows To Contest All 243 Bihar Seats, Slams Conspiracy To Thwart His Political Rise

Paswan also expressed displeasure over his estranged uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras seemingly exploring options within the opposition INDIA bloc. Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan on Sunday declared his intent to contest the upcoming Bihar assembly elections on all 243 seats, claiming there was a 'conspiracy" to block his political ascent in the state. Speaking at a rally in Bihar's Saran district, Paswan, whose party is a junior partner in the NDA alliance, said, 'I want to take Bihar to new heights. I visualise a future in which our boys and girls will not need to go outside in search of greener pastures; rather, people from other states will come here in search of better education and employment opportunities." Paswan claimed that his vision had unsettled many political figures. 'These people are content with having secured their own future, and they worry about my vision of 'Bihar First, Bihari First' catching the public imagination. So they are involved in a conspiracy to hinder my involvement in state politics. They are trying to create confusion in the minds of the people by asking whether Chirag Paswan will contest the assembly polls himself," he said. Clearing the air, he declared from the stage, 'I want to put an end to such designs by proclaiming, from this glorious land of Saran, yes, I will contest the assembly polls. I will contest in all 243 seats. Every segment will see Chirag Paswan fighting with full intensity." The 42-year-old, who has consistently denied harbouring chief ministerial ambitions, also voiced concern over recent law and order issues, especially the murder of industrialist Gopal Khemka, which he said cast doubts over the functioning of the Nitish Kumar-led government. 'The upcoming elections are crucial. After winning these, we shall strive to create an atmosphere in which people can step out of their homes at any time without fear and security concerns," he said. Paswan also expressed displeasure over his estranged uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras seemingly exploring options within the opposition INDIA bloc. Without directly naming him, he recalled, 'I was expelled from my party and made to vacate my own house." In 2021, Paras split the original Lok Janshakti Party, isolating Chirag and securing a berth in the Union cabinet. Chirag had to vacate the iconic 12, Janpath bungalow—his late father Ram Vilas Paswan's long-standing residence and the party's base—before being politically rehabilitated ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP's eventual decision to back Chirag led to Paras resigning from the Union cabinet and exiting the NDA in April 2024. Taking aim at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Paswan mocked the opposition's outreach initiatives. 'Those who had snatched away people's land with the promise of jobs are now distributing pens," he said, referencing the 'Chhatra Yuva Sansad' campaign and alluding to the railway recruitment scam involving RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. Paswan also backed the demand for a domicile policy to protect the interests of Bihari youth. 'I am fully in support of Bihari youth's demand for a domicile policy. The rights of our young men and women must be protected. But it must be pointed out that the domicile policy, brought in 2006, was scrapped in 2023, when the RJD was sharing power, its de facto leader was the Deputy CM, and another senior leader was the education minister," he stated. He further cautioned against the opposition alliance, criticising the inheritance tax proposal in the Congress manifesto—Congress being an RJD ally—and urged the public to remain alert. Nadda inaugurates six BJP offices in Delhi and Haryana

BJP ideologue Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee never clung to positions of power but remained unwavering in his commitment to ideology and even sacrificed his life for it, party national president and Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda said on Sunday (July 6, 2025). Mr. Nadda was addressing party workers and leaders after digitally inaugurating six new party offices in Delhi and Haryana. Speaking on the occasion, he pointed out that the day carried an emotional significance to the BJP, as it coincidentally marked the birth anniversary of Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Emphasising Mookerjee's unwavering commitment to ideology, Mr. Nadda said, "He never compromised on his beliefs. India will always remain indebted to him, especially for his role in ensuring that West Bengal remained a part of the country." The Union Minister further highlighted India's strong stance on national security, referring to the surgical strikes after Uri and airstrikes after Pulwama. Citing the terror attacks that killed 26 people at Pahalgam in April, he noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed a response "beyond imagination", which led to Operation Sindoor that destroyed nine terrorist camps in Pakistan. Mr. Nadda congratulated BJP workers, who "made history" by helping to form a party government in Delhi after 27 years and to secure a third consecutive term in Haryana.

L-G Sinha, Union Minister Goyal pay tributes to Syama Prasad on 124th birth anniversary in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Textiles Piyush Goyal on Sunday (July 6, 2025) lauded the role of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, for integrating J&K into India on his 124th birth anniversary. J&K L-G Sinha announced to launch a two-year celebratory campaign to honour the life and legacy of Dr. Mookerjee and his role in strengthening national unity and advocating 'One Nation, One Constitution' for a brighter future of J&K. 'Mookerjee Ji was one of the key architects of modern India and a visionary statesman, educationist and fearless Parliamentarian whose ideals continue to shape the destiny of India,' L-G Sinha said. He said Mookerjee sacrificed his life for unification of J&K with India and was a proponent of 'One Nation, One Constitution, One Symbol' and opposed Article 370. 'His martyrdom in Srinagar while fighting for J&K's complete integration, remained a defining moment in the nation's history. Prime Minister Narendra Modi fulfilled Mookerjee's dream 66 years after his martyrdom,' he added. Recalling the role of Mookerjee in integrating J&K into India, Union Minister Goyal said the Centre's decision of August 5, 2019 to do away with Article 370 and 35A finally led to the complete integration of J&K into India as envisaged by him. 'Mookerjee quit the Jawaharlal Nehru government as a Minister in 1953. He visited J&K without a permit and died under mysterious circumstances. His sacrifice, however, did not go to waste. After August 5, 2019, all laws are applicable in J&K,' he said. Mookerji died in a jail in J&K 1953 during the government of then J&K Prime Minister Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah. No regional party or ruling National Conference attended any function organised for the Jan Sangh leader. Mr. Goyal also praised people of Kashmir for standing against terrorism and lending support to the 'Operation Sindoor'', which India launched after the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 civilians dead. 'People of J&K showed to the world that such terror attacks will not make this place stop. This terror attack was not only on tourists but also on the economy of J&K. Pakistan was given a strong reply through the 'Operation Sindoor' for supporting terrorists. Like Maoism, we will end terrorism too with the help of Kashmiris. There is a mismatch between what Pakistan says and does. Pakistan needs to take concrete measures against terrorists and their infrastructure and hand over wanted terrorists to India to prove they mean what they say,' Mr. Goyal added. Meanwhile, the Union Minister, during a separate function in Srinagar, said the Union Territory will soon get a dedicated design and packaging hub and a state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence to boost the industrial and agricultural sectors. 'The Omar Abdullah government in J&K and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government at the Centre will jointly work towards reviving tourism and trade in the UT,' Mr. Goyal said. He embarked on measures to integrate J&K into national and global markets through value addition and sustainable development models. 'We are exploring a public-private partnership model to make the Centre of Excellence a hub of new technologies, product research, packaging design, and food processing solutions,' he said. He said his Ministry was exploring solar rooftop installations at the industrial estate in Lassipora, Pulwama, which has 10 lakh square feet of built-up space. 'If we use green energy for production, our exports can get premium value as certified eco-friendly products,' he said. He also underlined that there was a need to maintain a minimum import price of ₹75 on imported apples with a 50% duty to ensure Kashmiri apples remain competitive. 'We import apples worth ₹140 crore. But our own growers should not suffer. This must be a win-win for farmers and consumers,' he said.
