Melania Trump's Fourth of July Look Features a Very Melania Detail

Voguea day ago
Melania Trump's second term as First Lady of the United States has seen her not just return to, but augment the FLOTUS aesthetic she conceived during President Trump's first time around. Her styling has doubled down on homegrown American designs, whereas her first term as FLOTUS focused on her favorite European designers. The severe, elegant silhouettes, however, remain. But there are also new-found moments of softness, and if anything, quieter details of luxury—something that speaks to some level of awareness during these times of political and social tumult propelled by the Trump administration, when her fashion becomes more pared back.
But it's the Fourth of July weekend, and the Trumps must celebrate maximally. On July 4 2025, Donald and Melania hosted an Independence Day picnic for the military and their families, after Trump signed his 'big, beautiful' bill into law there and then that included significant tax cuts, more defence spending, and a focus on stemming immigration.
Melania opted for a cotton poplin a-line white shirt dress by Thom Browne, the signature red, white, and blue stripes sitting on the hips. (Browne is one of few designers to speak positively about dressing Melania Trump). She wore the collar unbuttoned to create some sense of relax and lightness. In what feels more distinctly the First Lady, she added a pair of red and white snake print Manolo Blahnik pumps for a pop of appropriate color—the Manolo Blahnik BB pumps are a go-to for Trump. Her highlighted hair was worn loose in a middle part, and she sported a nude manicure.

Mia puts the surreal side of the Renaissance in the spotlight this summer

Mia puts the surreal side of the Renaissance in the spotlight this summer originally appeared on Bring Me The News. There's plenty of abstraction and surreality in the galleries of the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia), including some work in the new "Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys' exhibit. However, the surreal is coming for the Renaissance this summer. the Mia opens "The Weirdening of the Renaissance" on Saturday, June 14, exploring "the strange, the surreal, and the sublime" from a period of European art that is more often associated with realism. 'This exhibition takes us to the wonderfully weird world of artists freed from narrow ideas of Renaissance propriety,' said Tom Rassieur, John E. Andrus III Curator of Prints and Drawings at Mia. 'It's a reminder that the Renaissance wasn't just a rebirth of old ideas — it was also a hotbed of innovation, imagination, and strangeness.' The exhibit showcases how artists "manipulated perspective, distorted figures, and turned away from purely representational imagery," the Mia says. It'll include infrequently seen engravings, woodcuts, and etchings from the museum's collection. "The Weirdening of the Renaissance" will be on display in the Mia's Gallery 344 through Nov. 30, and it's free to story was originally reported by Bring Me The News on Jun 14, 2025, where it first appeared.

A must-seed exhibition: State Fair crop art is heading to the Mia

A must-seed exhibition: State Fair crop art is heading to the Mia originally appeared on Bring Me The News. You're not alone if you've always felt like the crop art at the Minnesota State Fair is worthy of a full museum treatment. Well, crop art is getting its due. The Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) has announced "Cream of the Crop: A Minnesota Folk Art Showcase," an exhibition of the "community-rooted tradition of crop art." The exhibition, which will open on Sept. 6 in the Mia Rotunda, will feature highlights from the Minnesota State Fair's crop art competition, including a pair of winners from the Mia's new crop art awards (Best Interpretation of an Artwork and Best Interpretation of a Minnesota Landmark, Story, or Figure), as well as eight pieces selected by the museum's curatorial team and museum director Katie Luber. The exhibit will recontextualize how many experience the meticulous art form that inherently speaks to the state's rural roots through its use of seeds and other grains. At the State Fair, artists are using exclusively Minnesota-grown materials to tell cultural stories that are both personal and shared. 'I'm excited to see Mia continue its embrace and celebration of folk art with this exhibition,' Marta Shore, Assistant Superintendent of Crop Art and Scarecrow at the Minnesota State Fair, said in a statement. 'Crop artists use their considerable talent and creativity to express themselves by using the agricultural product of our state, and we all appreciate seeing a Minnesota art institution recognizing our work. The artists who enter the crop art competition each year bring incredible talent, wit, and dedication.' As part of the exhibition, the Mia will host a series of events, including a workshop for adults, led by artist Marta Shore. The work will head to the Mia less than a week after the Minnesota State Fair closes on Sept. 1. "Cream of the Crop" will be on display and free to see through Sept. story was originally reported by Bring Me The News on Jul 5, 2025, where it first appeared.

Amazon Fire Stick 4K is just $25, its lowest price of the year ahead of Prime Day

Has your TV remote been letting you down lately? Slow, laggy and just not as intuitive or responsive as you'd like it to be. Do you get the spinning wheel of content death? Have time to grab a drink and go to the bathroom after you launch a streaming service before it actually loads? We feel you — same here. It's really a bummer, especially with so much excellent content available these days. But there's good news: Right now, Amazon's Fourth of July sale is going on, and the mega-retailer is offering the newest model of its Fire Stick for 50% off. And believe us when we tell you it's a serious upgrade. Let's get into it! Well, for starters, you're getting Amazon's newest Fire Stick for half off. Have you ever seen any new tech discounted to half its price shortly after release? That alone is enough to make it add to cart-worthy. But also, consider this: For about the price of a movie ticket and small popcorn, the Fire Stick 4K offers quick and easy access to more content than you'll ever be able to watch in a lifetime. We're talking 1.5 million TV shows and movies at your fingertips. If you like chilling on your couch and catching the newest season of The Bear or want to be among the first to see Sinners when it's released this month, this deal is for you. There's a lot to love about the new stick, including that "4K" right in the name. If you have a 4K TV, this device is optimized for your existing setup. It's powered by a quad-core 1.7 GHz processor, which means quicker app starts and more fluid navigation — or, as Amazon says, "It makes getting to the good stuff even easier." And Wi-Fi 6 support means you won't experience lags and other hiccups, even if others in your house are connected to the same router. You can also expect more intuitive, AI-powered search functionality — just hold down the mic button and tell Alexa exactly what you want. Want to see rom-coms with a love triangle? Ask for that. Eager to watch a horror movie that involves the paranormal? Yep, that too. And, if you're a gamer, the 4K stick lets you play Xbox titles, no console required. You can stream popular games like Starfield, Forza Motorsport, Palworld and "hundreds" of other high-quality games directly from the doodad with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via cloud gaming. These are just a few of the more tangible features. The stick also offers access to Dolby Vision and even lets you control other smart-home tech in your house, like a thermostat or lights. Over 60,000 five-star fans say Amazon's new streaming remote offers stellar picture quality, intuitive programming, and is easy to set up. "I bought this Fire TV Stick thinking it would help me stream The Office for the 47th time in peace. What I didn't expect was for it to basically become my new life coach," said one self-actualized shopper. "The 4K quality? So sharp I started cleaning my living room just because the dust on my TV stand looked extra high-def. The AI-powered search is wild — it's like it knows what I want before I do. My social life may suffer, but my binge game is elite." "I love being able to stream Xbox games without a console," remarked a gratified gamer. "And Wi-Fi 6 keeps everything smooth even when the network's busy. It's the ultimate all-in-one device for streaming and smart-home control." "Setup? Ridiculously simple," shared a final succinct shopper. "Navigation? Smooth like jazz. Lag? Nonexistent. This thing moves faster than I do when someone says 'free snacks in the break room.'" Cons 👎 While some buyers feel this little device is magic in a stick, others reported some issues. "Amazing amount of apps available," remarked one user before adding that, unfortunately, "Limited memory restricts the amount of apps you can download unless you add an outside memory stick." "I cannot tell you how annoying it is when I pause a show, come back and my TV is off and I have to reopen the app," said another. If you have Amazon Prime, you'll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $35 or more.) The reviews quoted above reflect the most recent versions at the time of publication.
