How to transfer vehicle ownership on Metrash when buying/selling a car in Qatar

If you've been looking to buy or sell a car and wondering how to transfer vehicle ownership in Qatar, we're here to tell you more. The transfer of vehicle ownership is a simple and smooth process that can be executed through the Ministry of Interior's app - Metrash. To help you navigate the vehicle ownership transfer procedure, the (ILQ) team has listed down the steps for you. What are the steps to transfer vehicle ownership in Qatar? Log in to the Metrash app (Download the app: iOS | Android) Enter the "Traffic" section on the homepage. Choose the "Vehicles" section. Select the "Vehicle Ownership Transfer" service. You will have to select whether it's a "Personal" or "Company" vehicle. Enter the buyer & seller details, the vehicle value and click "Submit". Once the seller clicks "Submit", the buyer will receive a notification on the Metrash app to approve the vehicle ownership transfer. Once the buyer approves the transfer, the seller will be able to proceed with paying the transaction fee of QR 200 on their own Metrash app and finalise the transfer. The transfer process is now complete, and the new road permit with the new ownership (Estimara card) will then be delivered to your registered address by QPost, or alternatively, you can pick it up from the main Traffic Department Headquarters in Madinat Khalifa. Note: This procedure can only be executed if all traffic violations against the car have been paid off and the car has a valid vehicle registration. Are there any fees associated with transferring vehicle ownership? A fee of QR 200 applies to the seller to transfer vehicle ownership. The payment will have to be made within the seller's Metrash app, before finalising the vehicle ownership transfer request. Source: Ministry of Interior
