The Nungambakkam police arrested nine individuals in May following a brawl at a private bar, unravelling a large narcotics network. Among the arrested were Prasad, 33, a former executive of the AIADMK's IT wing, and his associate Ajay Vandayar. Investigations showed Prasad obtained cocaine from Pradeep Kumar, 38, of Sangagiri in Salem district, and sold it to film personalities.
Following further investigation, police arrested actors Srikanth and Krishna, and a Ghanaian national, Kevin, who was part of the alleged drug distribution network.
Officials said cocaine was supplied through Ghanaian nationals operating in Chennai and distributed via intermediaries at popular nightlife locations.
"Prasad, who also functioned as a film producer, facilitated the purchase of cocaine for many actresses through actor Srikanth," an investigation officer said.
Authorities said they are gathering digital and financial evidence to verify the extent of the drug sales.
While police have not yet named the actresses involved, officials confirmed that Srikanth and Krishna will be taken into custody for detailed interrogation.
The case, which has implications across the film and political circles, remains under investigation. Police are currently building a list of recipients and tracing money trails in an effort to identify the full scope of the distribution network.
In yet another incident, Anna Nagar police arrested two people for selling methamphetamine on 100-Feet Road in Arumbakkam on Wednesday.

Police identified the accused as Deepakraj, 25, a resident of Ambattur, and Antony Ruben, 29.
Police said the duo smuggled the narcotic from Bengaluru and were distributing it in Arumbakkam and various suburbs of Chennai. Based on a tip-off, police nabbed them and seized methamphetamine valued at 60,000, along with two mobile phones. They were produced before a court which sent them to jail.
