#SHOWBIZ: Farid Kamil, Diana Danielle: No contact in almost a year

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Farid Kamil, 44, claims that he and his ex-wife Diana Danielle, who divorced on March 24, haven't been in contact for about a year.
Farid, on the other hand, said that he communicates with their two children, Muhammad and Nur Aurora, who are in Diana's care.
"There's been no communication for almost a year. We're raising our children well, and that's our current goal.
"Nowadays, kids have their own smartphones, so communication isn't like it used to be.
"Muhammad and Aurora each have smartphones, so there's no issue of a 'communication breakdown'. We're now in a different world and time," he said when met at the media screening of the film 'Munajjim: Sekutu Iblis' last night.
Farid was accompanied by Muhammad at the film screening.
Asked if his current situation meant he had 'moved on', Farid said he was getting older and more cautious.
"I admit that I am calmer and happier now. I'm focusing on myself.
"It's been almost a year since we've moved forward with our lives. My son is now the same height as (film producer) David Teo. So, the change of time is more appropriate, and there's no turning back," he said.
In another development, Farid chose not to comment on Diana's recent remarks in an audio broadcast.
"I don't know what to comment on. But, I have a song. I tried to give flowers. That's all," he said.
In the interview on the audio programme, Diana was reported to have said that divorce wasn't the most painful moment; rather, it was the loss of a close relationship within the marriage.
Diana reportedly said: "The moment of losing my home was not the lowest point in my life. However, losing a good friend in a marriage. That was the lowest point in my life."
Netizens generally assume that the 'good friend' Diana referred to in the programme was Farid.
Diana and Farid married on Nov 3, 2012, and have two children, Muhammad and Nur Aurora.
The couple first divorced via Google Meet on Aug 10, 2023. However, it was confirmed that they divorced for a second time on March 24.
Meanwhile, Farid appears in the film 'Munajjim: Sekutu Iblis', which takes viewers through the story of a family who strongly believes in shamanism in their daily lives.
Besides Farid, the film stars Uqasha Senrose, Che Puan Juliana Evans, Mustaqim Bahadon, Sherrie Merlis, and Daniel Aqil.
'Munajjim: Sekutu Iblis', directed by Faizul A Rashid in collaboration with TGV, and internationally distributed by D'Ayu Pictures with promotional support from Empire Solutions, will be available in local cinemas starting this Thursday (July 31).

#SHOWBIZ: Diana Danielle's lowest point in life: Losing my 'best friend in marriage'

KUALA LUMPUR: Award-winning actress, television host, and singer Diana Danielle has described the loss of her "best friend in marriage" as the lowest point in her life to date. In a recent Instagram post, the "Memori" star shared that she has endured her share of difficult moments, including witnessing her father leave home permanently and coping with her mother's battle with cancer when Diana was just 12. "These were my three most painful life experiences so far. But looking back, I have learned to accept them as God's will," she said, adding that change is inevitable and everyone must be resilient in facing life's challenges. Netizens commended Diana for her honesty about her "painful" past and encouraged her to continue being the strong and inspirational figure she has always been. Some even questioned if her mention of a "best friend in marriage" was a subtle reference to her former husband, Farid Kamil. Farid and Diana, who share two children, were married from 2012 until their divorce on March 24 this year. Diana is set to appear in the emotional film "Memori," which tells the story of a doctor diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease who gradually loses his memory. Based on a true story, the film is directed by Abid Hussain and also stars Datuk Hilal Azman and Hisyam Hamid.
