Cyberabad police intensify campaign against drunk driving, nab 454
The large-scale operation across the Cyberabad Commissionerate limits saw the police nab 372 two-wheeler riders, 22 three-wheeler drivers, 57 four-wheeler drivers, and 3 heavy vehicle drivers.
According to police data, 268 of the offenders had Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels ranging from 35 mg/100 ml to 200 mg/100 ml. A further 169 offenders recorded BAC levels between 101 mg/100 ml and 300 mg/100 ml, while 17 individuals were found to have alarmingly high levels between 301 mg/100 ml and 500 mg/100 ml. All those caught will be produced before the Court.
The highest number of offenders, 169, were from the 21-30 age group, closely followed by 168 from the 31-40 age bracket. Another 80 offenders were aged between 41 and 50 years, and nine persons caught were between the ages of 18 and 20.
The Cyberabad Police reiterated that driving under the influence of alcohol is a serious offence. They warned that any individual found driving in an inebriated condition who causes a fatal accident will now be booked under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (Culpable Homicide Not Amounting to Murder). The maximum punishment under this section is 10 years of imprisonment, along with a fine. The Cyberabad Traffic Police urged all citizens to drive responsibly and prioritise road safety for everyone.

Ahmedabad: A 38-year-old woman who works as a senior data analyst with a top IT company filed a detailed domestic violence complaint at Maninagar police station. She accused her husband, also an IT professional, of physical and mental cruelty, including forcing her to continue a pregnancy, refusing physical intimacy for nearly two years and having an extramarital affair. She alleged that in 2016, she was pressured into pregnancy and left her job. In 2017, after giving birth to their son, she briefly returned to Bengaluru. Over the next few years, she claimed, the emotional abuse continued. According to her, her husband stopped having physical relations since 2023 and would offer excuses. Suspicious, she checked his phone and allegedly found private photos of another woman. When confronted, he reportedly became violent. The situation worsened in April 2025 when she found her husband viewing photos of another woman on his phone. When she tried to take the phone, he allegedly slapped her. Days later, he reportedly left home and sent her a message in May saying he vacated their Bengaluru home and would send divorce papers. She also alleged that unknown persons sent her threat messages on Instagram and WhatsApp, warning her to leave him. Concerned for her and her son's safety, she returned to Ahmedabad. She further alleged that her husband took away jewellery from their house and threatened to take custody of their son. Maninagar police registered an FIR of domestic violence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and began an inquiry.

Rs 1.8 lakh stolen from shop in Ghatlodia
Ahmedabad: A theft of Rs 1.8 lakh was reported from a sports equipment shop located in Vraj Valencia Complex in the Sola area. Sejal Patel, 30, a resident of Ganeshdham Bungalows, Ghatlodia, stated in her FIR with Sola police that her shop, 'Sun Sports and Fitness', is managed by her husband, Jatin Patel, and an employee named Piyush Rabari. Her husband was abroad for five days. On Saturday morning, she received a call from Jatin informing her that a theft occurred at the shop. Piyush, who locked the shop the previous night around 9.30pm, was alerted by a cleaner the next morning that one shutter lock was broken. On checking, they found that Rs 1.80 lakh cash from the counter was missing. Sola police registered an FIR of theft and criminal trespassing under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and began reviewing the CCTV footage for further clues.

Two booked for assault, robbery at Ahmedabad hotel
Ahmedabad: Vasna police registered a case late on Saturday night after two men allegedly created a ruckus at a hotel, assaulted staff, damaged property and looted cash from the hotel owner. The incident took place on Saturday night at a hotel located on the second floor of a commercial complex in Vasna village. According to the FIR, the complainant, Sajjan Singh Rao, 56, owns multiple hotels, including the one where the incident occurred. He was seated near the hotel's reception area with his manager, when the incident unfolded. The accused have been identified as Baldev Aththa, a resident of Vasna village, and his associate Priyank Thakor. The complainant stated that Attha had been staying at the hotel for a few days without paying room charges. Around 12.15 am, Attha and Thakor allegedly entered the hotel and demanded a room. When the request was denied due to unpaid dues, they reportedly abused the owner and manager, kicked a table and door, and smashed an LCD television. A hotel staffer who intervened was also beaten up. Vasna police lodged an FIR under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on charges of assault, criminal intimidation, mischief and robbery. Further investigation is underway.
