Cops nab 528 for drunk driving
Hyderabad: Ina major drive against drunk and driving, the Cyberabad Traffic Police caught 528 individuals for driving under the influence of alcohol during late-night checks conducted on weekends across multiple locations under Cyberabad police Commissionerate. The Traffic Police conducted a focused campaign against drunk driving over the weekend. According to Cyberabad traffic police, the police on weekends had been organising a special large-scale drive by deputing teams to keep a check on drunk driving. During the drive, of total 528, as many as 391 were two-wheeler drivers, 22 three-wheeler drivers, 113 four-wheeler drivers and 2 heavy vehicles. Police said 44 offenders were found with blood alcohol concentrations (BAC) ranging between 200 mg/100 ml and 550 mg/100 ml. The RC Puram zone reported the highest cases with 94 followed by Miyapur (65), Gachibowli (48), and Narsingi with 46 cases total, the highest offenders were the age between 21-30 with 218 offenders followed by 175 caught were of age group 31-40 years and 98 offenders of 41-50 years old. All apprehended individuals will be presented before the Court. The police urged the citizens that if anybody indulges in driving under the influence of alcohol and causes accidents resulting in fatalities, such persons will be arrested and charged under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), which carries a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in jail along with a fine, said the police officer.

528 booked in Cyberabad's weekend drunk driving crackdown
A total of 528 individuals found to be driving under the influence of alcohol were booked by the Cyberabad Traffic Police during the weekend enforcement drive. The highest number of cases was recorded in RC Puram followed by Miyapur at 65 and Gachibowli at 48. Meanwhile, Balanagar reported the lowest number of cases at 15, followed by KPHB at 16 and Kukatpally at 18. The majority of the offenders were riding two-wheelers, accounting for 391 of the cases. There were also 113 cases involving four-wheelers, 22 involving three-wheelers, and two offenders were found operating heavy vehicles while under the influence. Offenders were classified based on their Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels. A total of 93 individuals had BAC levels below 50 mg/100 ml, while the largest group, 230 offenders, registered between 51 and 100 mg/100 ml. Another 119 drivers recorded levels between 101 and 150 mg/100 ml, followed by 42 in the 151–200 mg/100 ml range. A further 27 were found with BAC levels between 201 and 300 mg/100 ml, and 17 cases were recorded above 301 mg/100 ml. The police warned that any individual who causes a fatal accident while in an inebriated state will be charged under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), which carries a maximum punishment of 10 years' imprisonment along with a fine. Citizens are urged to drive responsibly and avoid drinking and driving to ensure road safety for all.

454 booked for drunk driving in Cyberabad during the weekend
A total of 454 individuals were booked for drunk driving during the weekend enforcement drive carried out by the Cyberabad Traffic Police. 372 of the total cases involved two-wheeler riders and three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and heavy vehicles contributed 22, 57, and 3 cases respectively. All the offenders were men and will be produced before the court. Miyapur recorded the highest number of drunk driving cases, booking 53 individuals followed by Alwal with 43 cases and Jeedimetla with 41. On the other end of the spectrum, Raidurgam reported just 11 cases, while Madhapur, Rajendra Nagar, Gachibowli, and Narsingi each recorded fewer than 20 offenders. In terms of age distribution, the majority of offenders were in the 21–30 and 31–40 age brackets, with 169 and 168 cases respectively. This was followed by 80 cases in the 41–50 age group, and 26 in the 51–60 range. Only two offenders were aged above 60, and none were reported under 18. An analysis of Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels revealed that 183 individuals had BAC readings between 51–100 mg per 100 ml of blood, while 99 fell in the 101–150 mg range. A total of 52 had readings between 151–200 mg, and 85 were recorded with BAC below 50 mg. More concerning were the 35 individuals who had BAC levels above 200 mg and 18 between 201–300 mg, and 17 above 300 mg. The police warned that driving under the influence is a serious offence, warning that if any inebriated motorist causes a fatal accident, they will be charged under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, which treats such cases as culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The maximum punishment under this section is ten years' imprisonment along with a fine.

Cyberabad police intensify campaign against drunk driving, nab 454
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Traffic Police have intensified their campaign against drunk driving, apprehending a total of 454 individuals during a special enforcement drive conducted over the weekend. The large-scale operation across the Cyberabad Commissionerate limits saw the police nab 372 two-wheeler riders, 22 three-wheeler drivers, 57 four-wheeler drivers, and 3 heavy vehicle drivers. According to police data, 268 of the offenders had Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels ranging from 35 mg/100 ml to 200 mg/100 ml. A further 169 offenders recorded BAC levels between 101 mg/100 ml and 300 mg/100 ml, while 17 individuals were found to have alarmingly high levels between 301 mg/100 ml and 500 mg/100 ml. All those caught will be produced before the Court. The highest number of offenders, 169, were from the 21-30 age group, closely followed by 168 from the 31-40 age bracket. Another 80 offenders were aged between 41 and 50 years, and nine persons caught were between the ages of 18 and 20. The Cyberabad Police reiterated that driving under the influence of alcohol is a serious offence. They warned that any individual found driving in an inebriated condition who causes a fatal accident will now be booked under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (Culpable Homicide Not Amounting to Murder). The maximum punishment under this section is 10 years of imprisonment, along with a fine. The Cyberabad Traffic Police urged all citizens to drive responsibly and prioritise road safety for everyone.

Cyberabad Traffic Police book 283 drunk drivers in weekend special drive
The Cyberabad Traffic Police has booked 283 individuals for drunk driving during a weekend special enforcement drive. All the violators are male and will be produced before the court. The Jeedimetla Traffic police reported the highest number of cases at 32, followed by Chevella with 27, Shamshabad with 26, and Miyapur and Balanagar with 22 cases each. The lowest count was from Raidurgam with five cases. Of the total cases, 219 involved two-wheelers, 50 involved four-wheelers, 11 were three-wheelers, and 3 were heavy vehicles. The majority of offenders had Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels between 51 and 100 mg/100 ml, accounting for 113 cases. Of the total, 65 had BAC under 50, 62 were between 101 and 150, 25 between 151 and 200, 12 between 201 and 300, and six were over 301. Cyberabad Police reiterated that driving under the influence is a criminal offence. In cases where such driving causes a fatal accident, the driver will be booked under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The offence carries up to 10 years' imprisonment and a fine.
