Happy US Independence Day 2025: Top 50 wishes, messages, quotes, and images to share with your loved ones

Time of India03-07-2025
July 4, 2025—red, white! It's that magical time of year again when barbecues are sizzling, sparklers are crackling, flags are waving, and the smell of freedom (and grilled hot dogs) is in the air.
As America celebrates its 249th birthday this year, there's more reason than ever to reflect, connect, and share the love with friends and family.
Whether you're heading to a fireworks show, chilling at the beach, or just taking a breather on your front porch with lemonade in hand, don't forget to send a message to the people who matter. A little digital love goes a long way—and if you're looking for the perfect way to say Happy Independence Day, we've got you covered.
From heartfelt to funny, classic to modern, here are 50 wishes, quotes, messages, and images you can send to brighten someone's Fourth of July.
Every year on July 4th, we remember the bold leap our founding fathers took back in 1776 when they signed the Declaration of Independence, officially breaking ties with British rule. The result? A new nation built on the ideals of liberty, equality, and the pursuit of happiness (and later, backyard BBQs and monster fireworks displays).
Independence Day is about honoring freedom—both as a historical moment and as a living, evolving experience. It's about looking back, taking stock of where we are, and sharing a sense of unity in whatever way we can. And hey, let's be real—it's also about memes, grilling in flip-flops, and maybe posting a bald eagle gif or two.

Powerful US Independence Day quotes
Sometimes the best message is borrowed from the greats. Here are some timeless quotes that reflect the spirit of July 4th:
'Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.'
'Where liberty dwells, there is my country.'
'America is a tune. It must be sung together.'
'Liberty is the breath of life to nations.'
'Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.'
'The essence of America is possibility.'
'This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.'
'Freedom lies in being bold.'
'The American Revolution was a beginning, not a consummation.'
'In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved.'
Pair any of these with a strong visual or a personal note, and you've got a share-worthy post or text message.
Celebrate and connect
This Independence Day, don't just post a flag emoji and call it a day. Take a moment to reflect on what freedom means to you—and then reach out. Whether it's a group message with your besties, a heartfelt note to your parents, or a meme in the family WhatsApp group, a few words can make someone smile.
Use these wishes, quotes, and images to spread the spirit of July 4 wherever you are. Because at the end of the day, Independence Day isn't just about remembering the past—it's also about cherishing the people who make today worth celebrating.
So light up the sky, fill your plate, hug your people, and don't forget to say:
Happy Independence Day, America. You still look great at 249.

War 2 trailer review: Style, swag and jarring bikini moment in Hrithik-Jr NTR's film

The trailer for 'War 2' makes one thing clear right from the start: this film is all about the clash between Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. It's high on VFX, filled with stunning visuals and striking glamour, but also with a lot of whys. Why does it all feel so familiar? Why does it already seem like an overdose of everything - action, drama and spectacle? And why are we looking at an Indian Air Force officer being paraded in a bikini? Most importantly, why are we still excited about this?advertisement'War 2' is a part of YRF's growing spy universe. It has everything to make it a big-ticket entertainer: scale, ambition, and visual appeal. The trailer does justice to it. But, something doesn't add up in the middle of all that trailer, right from the first scene, builds towards that one epic showdown - Hrithik vs Jr NTR. It sets the stage for a high-stakes battle, closely inspired by the Mahabharata-like moral complexities, where warriors from the same ideological family find themselves on opposing sides. As the trailer suggests, both Roshan and NTR play soldiers who are at loggerheads. These are soldiers shaped by different beliefs of what 'India First' means, and they seem willing to sacrifice everything - their pasts, futures, even themselves - to fight that one defining battle. Visually, 'War 2' looks stylish from the word go. But are we in for a film that's all style and little substance? The trailer hints at a tone that feels at odds with the dignity associated with India's armed forces. The glamour, while cinematic, risks undermining the depth expected from the genre. Reducing an Indian Air Force officer to an object of gaze in a shiny bikini feels both jarring and spy genre is not just about action set pieces and larger-than-life appeal. It's also, and in fact, more importantly, meant to grip, thrill and reflect by offering stories that are as layered as they are entertaining. It's a genre that can pay tribute to the silent, mostly unglamorous, courage of intelligence and defence personnel. It can unfold on the screen to show you something you didn't know before, and at the same time, acts like a tribute to our armed forces. 'War 2', at least from its trailer, seems more invested in surface gloss than its emotional depth. Of course, it's too early to say whether 'War 2' will ultimately deliver on its promise. Trailers, you see, are only glimpses. But, it's not too late to observe that the film risks becoming a spectacle rather than a story. It seems to be chasing adrenaline over authenticity, and choosing scale all the way over everything the extra gloss might look great on screen, but it may not be what the story truly needs. Whether 'War 2' can balance its cinematic ambition with the weight of its genre is something we'll only know on August 14. The film is hitting the screens as the big Independence Day release this year, and is directed by Ayan also features Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, Anil Kapoor, Shabir Ahluwalia in important roles.- EndsMust Watch IN THIS STORY#Hrithik Roshan#Kiara Advani

Curtis tells Willow the truth about her mom and Drew Curtis decided to stop Portia from resigning and took matters into his own hands. He wanted to prevent Willow from marrying Drew and believed that ending the wedding would help Portia professionally and emotionally. However, Curtis stunned her by revealing that Drew had slept with her mother last summer, both before and after the Fourth of July. Willow was shocked and visibly shaken by the news. Meanwhile, at the church, Willow was getting ready for the big day. Liz, Liesl, Nina, and Willow gathered in the bridal prep area. Liesl mentioned Willow smiling when Sasha and Daisy left town. Is The View being canceled? Joy Behar's ‘hiatus' remark fuels speculation

A recent on-air remark from The View co-host Joy Behar has stirred speculation about the future of the long-running daytime talk show. The View co-host Joy Behar said the show is about to go on 'hiatus."(X) What did Joy Behar say? During Thursday's episode, the 82-year-old co-host casually mentioned that the show is about to go on 'hiatus,' prompting viewers to question whether it might be canceled. 'Before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this,' Behar said, before glancing off-camera and asking, 'I'm allowed to say that, right?' Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin joked in response, 'Too late now." Is The View being canceled? Despite the online chatter, Behar's comment appears to refer to the show's annual summer break, not a cancellation. At the end of the episode, co-host Whoopi Goldberg reassured viewers that The View would return for a new season in September. The show often takes a short hiatus around the Fourth of July, and again in late summer before launching its fall season. The hosts recently returned from a weeklong break on July 7. Online Reactions Despite this, Behar's comment sparked confusion on social media, with some viewers mistakenly interpreting the hiatus as a sign that the show is being canceled. White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers criticized Behar for comments she made on Wednesday's show, where she said President Donald Trump is "jealous" of Barack Obama. "Joy Behar is an irrelevant loser suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome," Rogers said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. Rogers went on to say, "It's no surprise that "The View's" ratings hit an all-time low last year. [Behar] should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump's historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off air."
