It's hard to maintain sobriety while touring, says Miley Cyrus
The 32-year-old pop star hasn't paired an album with live shows since her Bangerz Tour back in 2014, and Miley has now revealed that she has no intention of hitting the road anytime soon.
During an appearance on Good Morning America, Miley - who quit using marijuana in 2017 - explained: "It's really hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is kind of a pillar of stability in my life. None of this that I create would even be possible without the way I think about things."
Miley also thinks there's an insufficient "infrastructure" for touring artists.
The pop star said: "I do have the physical ability. I have the opportunities to tour, I wish I had the desire, but I don't. I also don't think that there's an infrastructure that supports artists.'
Miley acknowledged that touring has negatively impacted her mental health in the past.
The Wrecking Ball hitmaker said: "I do think it's really hard to keep mental wellness."
In 2023, Miley admitted that touring "isn't healthy" for her.
The singer has enjoyed huge success in her music career - but Miley believes that touring "erases [her] humanity" and stifles her ability to write new songs.
The Flowers hitmaker explained in a TikTok video: "Having every day the relationship between you and other humans being subject and observer isn't healthy for me because it erases my humanity and my connection. And without my humanity and my connection, I can't be a songwriter, which is my priority."
Miley also reflected on the differences between herself and her dad, music star Billy Ray Cyrus.
The chart-topping singer admitted that she had financial and emotional stability during her younger years, whereas her dad was forced to struggle through the early years of his life.
Miley explained: "My dad grew up the opposite of me.
"I grew up on a soundstage, like in a house with a family who was super close and all lived under the same roof, and I grew up financially stable and emotionally stable, I think, in my relationships also. That's something that my dad didn't have."

It potentially sets a blueprint for future charging locations, not only from Tesla, but possibly the wider EV market. The diner has been at least four years in the making, as we first reported on trademark filings for a Tesla restaurant back in 2021. The auto maker had to wait until 2023 before the City of LA granted approval for the first diner to be built, and two years on it's finally ready to open its doors. According to Sawyer Merritt, the Tesla Diner features two 45-foot LED movie screens for patrons to enjoy a drive-in movie, 80 Tesla Superchargers (V4), and a menu which includes burgers, wings, hot dogs, fries, milkshakes and more. Why should I care? Tesla has invested heavily in the EV charging ecosystem, with 30,000 superchargers across 2,500 locations stretching through all 50 states. Yet, range anxiety and worries over charger availability remain for both current EV owners and those considering the switch. Continued investment in charging locations, not only by increasing the number of charges available, but by also creating spaces which are enjoyable to spend 20 to 30 minutes of your day, is only a positive thing for EV owners. The arrival of the Tesla Diner also introduces some new in-car features for Tesla owners too. Drive up to the restaurant and you'll be able to sync the audio and video from the giant screens to the speakers and screens in your Tesla. Plus you'll be able to order your food directly from your Tesla's infotainment display. Ok, so what's next? As Musk suggested in his post, depending on how the Tesla Diner performs, the company might look to roll out the concept to more countries around the world.

Kevin Feige Unveils Some of the MCU's Big Next Moves
The grind never stops at Marvel Studios, and Kevin Feige has gone and revealed some juicy nuggets about what is and isn't to come in the MCU. The longtime producer recently talked to press about Marvel's next moves, and he was naturally asked about Blade. We're now on the six-year anniversary of Mahershala Ali being announced for the role, and he recently told press to pester Marvel about the film's infamously troubled production. To Deadline and other outlets, Feige confirmed that yes, there have been four separate takes of the character in the development process so far: two in the past and two in the modern day. (One would've been set in the Prohibition era, and it was far enough along its background costumes were instead used for Sinners.) The version now being developed has 'landed on modern day' and will see Ali do more than 'put a leather outfit on him and have him start killing vampires.' 'We didn't want to do that to Mahershala and he didn't want to do that to us,' Feige explained to THR. 'You can start and have a good script and make it a great script through production, but we didn't feel confident we could do that on Blade.' Additionally, he confirmed that Ryan Coogler isn't in the running for that project, as he's focused on developing Black Panther 3. Another character fans have been wanting to come to the MCU is one Miles Morales, aka New York's one and only Spider-Man (other Spiders may be available). It sounds like fans should keep on waiting, as Feige said the studio 'has been told to stay away' by Sony, which owns Miles' film rights. The character's animated trilogy is expected to wrap with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse in June 2027, but until then, any plans to bring him into the fold 'are nowhere' on the MCU's end. Sony, on the other hand, has its own plans for bringing him out of animation. When it comes to long-term plans, Feige told press Marvel's current roadmap stretches to 2032. Naturally, the X-Men are part of those plans, and they'll be recast for their MCU debut, which'll be directed by Thunderbolts' Jake Schreirer. X-fans will get one more chance to see the original Fox actors reprise their roles in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. But the new X-Men will also prepare audiences for bigger MCU characters like Tony Stark and Steve Rogers to be eventually played by newer actors down the line. But don't worry about any of that until Secret Wars, which will end with a 'reset' that brings the X-Men and Fantastic Four into the same universe as the current crop of MCU heroes. Feige stressed to Variety that this isn't a reboot, which he considers 'a scary word that can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Reset, singular timeline—we're thinking along those lines.'
