Shedeur Sanders has already shown his true character with the Cleveland Browns and it had nothing to do with football originally appeared on A to Z Sports.
The Cleveland Browns have entered their second week of training camp, and today marks the first time the team will put on pads to start the week.
Much of the early camp conversation has centered around the quarterback competition. News recently broke that Kenny Pickett is dealing with an injury, which opens the door for more reps to be distributed among Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders.
Speaking of Sanders, he made a strong impression this past week — and it had nothing to do with football.
Browns linebacker Jerome Baker was in the middle of a press conference when Sanders approached the podium for his scheduled media availability. Naturally, given Sanders' popularity, many members of the media began to shift their attention toward him. However, the rookie quarterback refused to begin his session until Baker had finished, even though he wasn't obligated to wait.

'It's a respect thing. You know, I know a lot of people want the content. I know I'm a producer, so. Nah, I never want to make anybody feel any type of way about anything,' Sanders said. 'So, it was important that he gets everything he needs to say out, and everybody captures what he has — and then now I'm here.'
This moment stood out, especially considering that Sanders faced character questions during the pre-draft process. His decision to wait until Baker was done speaking is the kind of gesture that can earn the respect of veterans in the locker room.
Cleveland's rookie quarterback may see increased opportunities this week, possibly even with the starters. If he approaches those reps with the same level of professionalism he displayed during Baker's press conference, it could go a long way toward building trust within the organization.
