I Have These No-Blister Walking Sandals In Four Colors

Buzz Feed17-06-2025
Hear me out: I know everyone knows about Tevas. In the '90s, their signature 'original universal' style of sandals were known as bad-granola-dad fashion (people say some really, really mean things about them on Reddit). But sometime around 2015 they were made cool again, thanks to 'ugly shoes' being back in fashion.
But if you've been avoiding them because you don't like their signature prints (which can sometimes have a snake-y 'Legends Of The Hidden Temple' aesthetic, or sometimes a 'Saved By The Bell' summer yacht club vibe) or you're not sure they look comfortable, let me convince you otherwise on both fronts.
First of all, Teva's 'original universal sandal' is available in approximately 40 colors in women's sizing and 30 in men's sizing on Amazon, ranging from the aforementioned prints to (drumroll ...) solids. And colorblocked solids! Take a look at a few of my favorites below:
I wear them with everything from schlubby drugstore-errand shorts to casual dresses, and a colleague recently convinced me they were work-appropriate when I questioned wearing them to the office. A solid black or a fresh white pair look especially modern, if that's your thing.
But let's talk about the most important thing: comfort. I'm a New Yorker who walks at least 5 miles a day, so I've put these things to the test. And because of a number of genetic mutations, I have feet that are blister magnets. Sandals, with their myriad straps and slings, are especially blister-inducing. So when I set out to break in my first pair of Tevas and came home with not a single blister, I couldn't believe my wretched little feet. And after thousands of miles, I still haven't gotten blisters.
Perhaps it's due to the adjustable Velcro straps that allow you to custom fit each sandal to your own unique foot shape, but I also find that unlike leather, the grosgrain ribbon straps don't create any friction against my skin. I don't have any particular arch support needs, but I find these to sufficiently support my foot even on miles-long walks. A bonus: the footbed provides plenty of cushion walking on hard city sidewalks, and enough lift off the ground to keep my feet from touching all the gross little gifts you can find on a New York sidewalk.
In short, they've been a godsend rain or shine (yes, they hold up well in the rain!), and because they're a somewhat modest price, I now own them in four different colors. Certain shades like '90s multi' are just $34, whereas other shades like 'magic black-grey' are up to $45.
Don't trust me? Check out these promising reviews.
Get the women's sandal from Amazon for $45.01+ (available in sizes 5–13 and dozens of colors) and the men's sandal from Amazon for $50.81+ (available in sizes 7–15, two widths, and 38 colors).

This Amazon dress gets me so many compliments, and it's on sale right now for under $70 — but hurry, it's a lightning deal

Select colours of this "incredibly flattering" dress are currently on sale, but only for a limited time. After searching for the perfect summer dress for an event and having no luck with my go-to retailers, I started to feel defeated and decided to check out Amazon for a last-minute option. I wasn't hoping for much, but I figured Prime delivery would ensure it delivered on time, and who knows, maybe I would stumble upon something flattering to get me by. Luckily, I ended up hitting the Amazon fashion jackpot. I opted for the PRETTYGARDEN Women's Eyelet Maxi Dress, and it totally exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and cuteness. It immediately reminded me of the bestselling Somerset Dress from Anthropologie — but at a more affordable cost. Quick shop: I snagged it in this bright blue shade, which screams summer, and it scored me tons of compliments at said event. When I told people it was from Amazon Canada, they were visibly impressed. While $73 can be considered pricey for the retailer, in my review below I'll touch on why I think it's worth the price — as well as some areas that could use improvement. However, while we're on the topic of price tags, select colours and sizes of this dress are currently on sale — but only for a few hours. Read on for the details before the lightning deal ends. Review: The details, pros and cons Let's dive into all the details of this frock, why I think it's great, as well as what I didn't like. Right off the bat, this dress is effortlessly stylish and comfortable. It's made from soft, lightweight fabric and features a flattering A-line shape, chic V-neckline and dainty eyelet details that add a feminine touch. The short sleeves and ruffled hem make it look elevated (and quite frankly, more expensive than it actually is). Plus, the flowy silhouette is flattering for all body types, making it a go-to for everything from special occasions to casual brunch. It's available in sizes S–XXL and in various vibrant and neutral colours. You can pair it with your favourite sandals, flats or heels to complement virtually any look you're going for. What I love about it: The airy eyelet material feels very comfy for all-day wear Its flowy A-line silhouette is flattering and makes me feel confident The V-neckline allows me to dress it up with necklaces It's versatile — great for travel, events or casual days Very stretchy and not constricting Super easy to take on and off (no buttons, zippers or anything to fuss with) What I don't love about it: It's on the pricier side for Amazon (however, still worth it, in my opinion) I spotted some threads that had to be cut off It's on the bigger side, so next time I'd size down The liner underneath isn't as long as the dress itself (just a personal pet peeve) No pockets! What others are saying 👗 "Truly a great find." ⭐ 4.5/5 stars 🛍️ 800+ ratings Don't just take my word for it — let's see what other reviewers have to say about this dress. Do they love it as much as I do? Someone who is "very self-conscious" about their postpartum body said they're "in love with this dress." "This dress made me feel better," they stated. Another person called it a "fun, cheerful dress" that you can wear to "a range of occasions." A third reviewer echoed this sentiment, calling it a "beautiful dress." "This dress is so incredibly flattering," said one customer. They continued, "If it were $20 cheaper I would probably buy another colour." "Minimizes my stomach, defines my waist," wrote one person. However, they said, "If I could change one thing, it would be to lengthen the arms a tad." "The only 'eek' was the price… just a tad too rich for my blood but in the end, it was worth it!" shared another. So, what's the verdict? If you've been struggling to find the perfect versatile dress for many different occasions, this PRETTYGARDEN Women's Eyelet Maxi Dress might be just what you're looking for. As a shopping editor, I come across (and try on) a lot of pieces, and I can honestly say the quality on this one passes the test. After wearing it to an all-day event, I can confirm it's comfortable, lightweight and very flattering. However, is it worth the price? I'm going to say yes, especially on sale, while simultaneously agreeing it's kind of pricey for Amazon. But hey, when you find something good, sometimes you've gotta splurge.

Influencer faces backlash after new footage exposes alarming behavior: 'Being mindful of our habits matters'

An influencer is being called out after trying to defend their shopping habits. A post on r/InstaCelebsGossip, a subreddit dedicated to internet celebrity and influencer gossip, isn't at all shy to point out that overconsumption is a problem — even if you're thrifting. The post focuses on a "thrifty girlie" and digital creator of "maximalist sustainable fashion" named Tanshi (@artybuzz), sharing screenshots of her reels and of her lengthy responses to comments that point out her questionable spending habits. The first screenshot is a coat rack drenched in purses and bags she refers to as her "very own Christmas tree," and the second shows her attempt to justify the overconsumption by showing that everything is purchased secondhand. While it's wonderful that she is opting to thrift over supporting fast fashion, commenters argued that there is still a line being crossed. "I've been noticing a trend lately where influencers justify overconsumption by saying it's okay because they're thrifting," the original Reddit poster wrote. To back up their point, the user included some of the 22-year-old influencer's responses to "haters" where she defends her excessive thrifting by saying, "overconsumption isn't just about having a lot of stuff" and that she's "literally the opposite." Tanshi, the influencer, goes on to explain that she curates her closet consciously and intentionally, choosing to upcycle and resell items to prevent waste that ends up in our landfills. While the mindset of minimizing waste is fantastic, there seems to be a belief that making sustainable purchases through thrifting means it's a free-for-all. The Redditor pointed out that overconsumption is still overconsumption, no matter where you shop. "[It still contributes to a culture of excess and can drive up prices or limit access for people who actually rely on thrift stores for affordable clothing," the OP wrote. "Being mindful of our habits matters, even when it's secondhand." An influencer, by definition, is a person with the ability to influence potential buyers of a product or service by promoting or recommending the items on social media. They are designed to promote consumption and sometimes go overboard in hopes of enticing the masses. While this particular instance promotes thrifting, which is a great habit in moderation, many influencers are pushing single-use products to an excessive level. So much so that their collections of shower, beauty, and skincare products look more like stockrooms than what any one person could ever need in a lifetime. What single change would make the biggest dent in your personal food waste? Not buying food I don't need Freezing my food before it goes bad Using my leftovers more effectively Composting my food scraps Click your choice to see results and speak your mind. The responses to the influencer's massive hauls and collection seemed to agree that there was a point being missed among the clutter. "Influencers work overtime just to justify and glorify overconsumption," one Redditor commented. "I'm so tired of these hauls," wrote another. "Just because it's thrifted doesn't mean it won't end up in a landfill, overconsumption is the problem not where the products are coming from," said a third.
