Miley Cyrus Gets Emotional About Hollywood Walk of Fame Star originally appeared on Parade.
It's a "Party in the USA" because singer and Disney Channel actress Miley Cyrus received some exciting news.
It was announced that the 32-year-old will be receiving a star on Los Angeles' iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame in a press conference that took place on Wednesday morning. First installed in 1960, these stars are monuments to achievement in the entertainment industry, honoring the industry's best musicians, actors, producers, directors, theatrical/musical groups, athletes, fictional characters and more.
Other honorees in the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026 include Josh Groban, The Clark Sisters, Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Demi Moore, Shaquille O'Neal and more.
The Disney Channel starlet went to X to post her gratitude for the honor.
"Honored to be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. When I first came to LA from Nashville as a little girl, my family would stay at a hotel on Hollywood Blvd, and I would go on late night walks with my dad when no one would recognize him. We'd have the gift shops to ourselves & buy knock off Oscars and Marilyn Monroe merchandise," Cyrus wrote. "To now be cemented on this legendary boulevard, surrounded by the icons who inspired me, feels like a dream. This moment will live forever, thank you to everyone in my life who made it possible. I am grateful to share this star with you."
Cyrus has made a lasting impact on both television and music. She rose to fame on Disney Channel's hit TV show Hannah Montana, where she played a teen living a double life as a pop star, and inspired a generation of young viewers. After her Disney years, she broke into music. From her pop hits like 'Wrecking Ball' and 'Midnight Sky,' Cyrus has continually reinvented herself over the past two decades. Last year, Cyrus earned her first two Grammy awards, Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year, for her hit song "Flowers."
She has consistently used her platform for good and has always been an advocate for self-expression. Throughout her career, she evolved from a teen idol to a wonderful performer. Whether she is covering rock classics, releasing pop hits or performing emotional ballads, Cyrus has always brought that sense of honesty that has resonated with her fans all of these years.
Honorees are selected by a committee from hundreds of nominations submitted each year, and recipients must agree to attend the ceremony and pay a sponsorship fee. Individual star ceremony dates are typically announced at a later time, and the honorees have up to two years to schedule their ceremonies.
