Mivi AI Buds: Human-like AI, local manufacturing, and voice avatars- All made in India

India-based audio brand Mivi is making headlines with the launch of its first AI-driven personal assistant, Mivi AI, and the upcoming release of Mivi AI Buds. Designed and developed entirely in India, the new TWS earbuds aim to deliver human-like conversations through intelligent AI Avatars, setting a new benchmark in audio tech. Mivi AI Buds are India's first AI-powered TWS earbuds offering human-like conversations through personalised Avatars.(Mivi) Speaking to Hindustan Times Technology, Midhula Devabhaktuni, co-founder of Mivi, highlighted the unique capabilities of the assistant: 'It can be your personal news reporter, chef to provide instructions on how to cook, your wellness coach, your nutritionist that reminds you of daily targets.' Unlike conventional voice assistants that follow a Q&A format, Mivi AI offers contextual and memory-based conversations. It evolves over time by learning user habits, preferences, and even tone of communication. 'It will start learning about the user and create a persona, learning about preferences, dislikes, response styles, habits, and as simple as favourite foods,' Midhula explained. Also read: Mivi AI adds human-like conversation capabilities on earbuds To protect user privacy, Mivi has implemented end-to-end encryption. Users will be able to customise or delete specific pieces of information—like preferred cuisines or interests—via a companion app. 'Users will also be able to view the data Mivi AI has gathered about them and choose to remove it,' she added. The AI Avatars, including Chef, Guru, and Wellness Coach, are core to the experience. 'Avatars provide context-based and tailored responses. For example, the Chef Avatar won't just tell you how to marinate chicken—it understands time, waits during the marination, and resumes with the next step after,' she explained. 'It's like your mother guiding you through the process.' Midhula revealed that Mivi developed its own custom chip to process AI interactions in real time, embedded within the compact design of the earbuds. 'We built a neural network trained on thousands of voice samples from different Indian regions, where language and accent vary every hundred kilometres,' she said. The entire system—from hardware to firmware and app interface—has been built from scratch at Mivi's Hyderabad facility. Also read: Human trials for Google's drugs made by AI set to begin soon, possibly changing how we perceive healthcare The company is expecting strong demand following the launch. 'We are targeting to do 5 lakh units in year one for the Mivi AI Buds,' said Midhula. 'The technology and devices are manufactured, designed, and developed in India. We have about 15,500 people working, with about 80% being women.' Mivi is also preparing to launch India's largest audio manufacturing unit, spread across two acres, in the coming months. When asked why Mivi calls its product the world's first 'human-like AI,' Midhula pointed out, 'Mivi AI is not just an AI tool like Google Assistant or ChatGPT. It's a natively AI audio product built for fluid, natural, voice-first interaction.' She emphasised that Mivi AI doesn't rely on screens or typing and instead brings conversation back to the centre of tech. 'Mivi AI is India's answer to the world of where India's AI lies,' she said. 'Everybody is building something, and we are consuming. This is our chance to give it to the world and say, 'India is also making leaps and bounds in AI.' Watch: MS Dhoni's Hummer Gets Military Makeover, Goes Viral On Social Media

Last Updated: Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Hummer now has a military-themed makeover with artwork of fighter jets and soldiers. If you spot a roaring SUV on the streets of Ranchi, adorned with visuals of fighter helicopters and soldiers, it is likely Mahendra Singh Dhoni's iconic Hummer H2 in its new military avatar. The former India cricket captain, known for his passion for automobiles, bought the powerful SUV from American automaker General Motors in 2009. Now, 15 years later, he has given it a fresh makeover inspired by the Indian Army, a force with which he shares a deep emotional connection. WATCH: — ` (@WorshipDhoni) July 13, 2025 Videos of the revamped Hummer have gone viral across social media platforms. The vehicle now features striking artwork depicting fighter jets, tanks, aircraft, and Indian soldiers in action. The customisation was carried out by a Ranchi-based car detailing studio. Studio founder Achyut Kishore revealed that Dhoni had personally requested an army-themed design, which has now been successfully completed. What Is MS Dhoni's Connection With The Army? Dhoni's bond with the armed forces is well-known. In 2011, he was conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army. He has undergone training with the Para Forces and has even performed parachute jumps. Known to spend time with soldiers regularly, Dhoni often speaks about drawing inspiration from their discipline and courage. During the 2019 ICC World Cup, Dhoni famously wore gloves featuring the 'Balidaan Badge' — a symbol of the Para Special Forces — as a mark of respect for the Indian Army. What About Dhoni's Love For Bikes? An avid automobile enthusiast, Dhoni owns a remarkable collection of cars and superbikes. His garage boasts luxury and performance vehicles such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, and a classic Nissan Jonga. But it is his Hummer H2 that remains the jewel of the collection — now more eye-catching than ever in its new military look. Recently, Dhoni was also seen driving the newly launched 'Basalt Dark Edition' SUV from French automaker Citroen in Ranchi. Dhoni, who is also the brand ambassador for Citroen, was spotted behind the wheel of the sleek Black Edition, believed to be the latest addition to his impressive fleet. view comments First Published: July 14, 2025, 15:20 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Exclusive: Indians losing Rs 1,000 crore every month to cyber frauds originating from Cambodia and other Southeast Asian countries, shows MHA analysis

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has estimated that a significant portion of the cyber scams targeting Indians come from Southeast Asia. It attributes over half of the approximately Rs 7,000 crore lost to online scams in the first five months of this year, January to May, to networks operating out of Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. According to data compiled by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), a unit under MHA, these scams are often run from high-security locations, reportedly controlled by Chinese operators, where trafficked people, including Indians, are forced to work. An analysis of cyber frauds this year revealed that they are targeting the Indian economy, and the country faces a loss of around Rs 1,000 crore every month to such crimes. 'In January, Rs 1,192 crore was lost to Southeast Asia-based countries, Rs 951 crore in February, Rs 1,000 crore in March, Rs 731 crore in April and Rs 999 crore in May,' an official said, citing the data from the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS), I4C's facilty to help citizens report and manage financial cyber fraud incidents. A senior government official told The Indian Express that senior officials of Cambodia recently met with the Indian government in Delhi and discussed an action plan. In the meeting, which was organised by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and attended by the officials of Central investigation agencies, Cambodian officials requested to share the exact geographical coordinates of these scam centres in the country so that they can take action. 'With the help of intelligence agencies and testimonies of rescued people, the Indian government has identified at least 45 such scam compounds in Cambodia, five in Laos, and one in Myanmar. It also came to the fore that, apart from Indians, people from African countries, East Asia countries, Southeast Asia countries, South Asia, Central Asia, West Asia, Europe/North America and South America were also identified in these scam compounds,' the official said. A probe has revealed three types of major cybercrime frauds operating from Southeast Asia: stock trading/investment scams, digital arrest, and task-based and investment-based scams. The Indian government has also tracked several agents recruiting Indians for these operations, with the most operating out of Maharashtra (59), followed by Tamil Nadu (51), Jammu and Kashmir (46), Uttar Pradesh (41) and Delhi (38). 'Agents' data shows that they are hiring people the most for Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia,' the official said. The Indian Express first reported that more than 5,000 Indians were suspected to be trapped in Cambodia after being allegedly held against their will and forced to carry out cyber fraud. According to government estimates, Indians had been duped of at least Rs 500 crore in the six months before March this year. The Centre then set up an inter-ministerial panel to look into the issue and identify the loopholes. The panel identified gaps in the banking, immigration, and telecom sectors. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) then registered an FIR against point of sale (PoS) agents based in various states for allegedly issuing ghost SIM cards. After recording the statements of rescued and returned people, the government has tracked down their route of travel to Cambodia. 'It has been found that agents are sending people to Dubai to China and Cambodia, Tamil Nadu to Cambodia, Maharashtra to Thailand and Cambodia, Jaipur to Thailand and Cambodia, Jaipur to Vietnam to Bangkok and Cambodia, Delhi to Bangkok and Cambodia, Lucknow to Bangkok and Cambodia, Kerala to Vietnam and Cambodia, Kerala to Singapore and Cambodia, and Kolkata to Vietnam and Cambodia by road,' the official added.
