Woman alleges AR constable cheated her, files plaint
Puttaparthi: Tension prevailed at the Sri Sathya Sai District Collectorate after a woman from Vijayawada accused a police constable of cheating her and sought justice during the PGRS (Public Grievance Redressal System) hearing.
According to the complainant, the accused, Firoz, who is currently serving as a Head Constable in the Armed Reserve (AR) wing at the District Police Office, allegedly deceived and exploited her during his duty visit to Vijayawada.
The woman claimed she had approached senior police officials multiple times in the past, but no action was taken against the constable, leaving her distressed and unheard.
As she arrived at the Collectorate to submit her complaint, the woman was initially stopped by security personnel.
However, she insisted on raising her voice publicly, demanding strict action against the constable.
Her emotional outburst and verbal confrontation with police officers at the venue created a brief commotion in the premises.
She questioned why she had to remain silent when she was the victim of deception and firmly demanded justice.
Despite being asked to leave the area due to the disturbance, she managed to formally submit her grievance to the District Revenue Officer (DRO) under the PGRS system.
The incident sparked discussion among those present at the Collectorate, drawing attention to the seriousness of the allegations.
Authorities have yet to issue an official response regarding the complaint.

Police receive petitions on land disputes, family rows
Ongole: The Prakasam district SP, AR Damodar assured the public that the district police would be at the forefront in resolving their issues. The Prakasam district police organised the Public Grievance Redressal System programme at the district police office, along with the other police stations in the district, on Monday. In the PGRS programme held at the district police office, the SP received 83 grievances from the public from various places in the district. He interacted with the complainants, learned about their issues, and assured them that justice would be done for the victims. He spoke to the local police officers through the video conference in front of the complainants and ordered them to update him on the action taken on the urges from time to time. In the 83 urges received by the police, the authorities observed that most of them are for the resolution of disputes and differences between family members and domestic violence, cheating in the name of jobs, and to bring consensus between parties on the borders and distribution of land and assets. The SC/ST cell inspector Durga Prasad, DTC inspector Shamimulla, traffic inspector Panduranga Rao, PGRS SI Janardhana Rao, and other staff participated in the PGRS programme.

22 bikes with advanced features inducted into Anantapur police patrol fleet
Superintendent of Police P. Jagadeesh on Friday inducted as many as 22 modern two-wheelers into their patrol fleet in a move to enhance the efficacy of mobility and response time. The SP inaugurated the vehicles at the District Police Office here by conducting a puja ceremony, attended by senior police officials from the Anantapur, Kadiri, and Tadipatri sub-divisons. Mr. Jagadeesh said that the new fleet was equipped with GPS tracking systems, sirens, night-vision lights, and public address systems. 'These features will aid the personnel on duty in traffic clearance, crowd control, and emergency response, particularly in congested and volatile areas,' he said. He highlighted that the two-wheelers would be deployed across the district, with a focus on municipal towns, to enforce traffic regulation, law enforcement, and public safety. Meanwhile, the SP distributed uniforms to about 50 personnel from the district special party and local petrol bunk staff as part of welfare initiatives.
