Ashley Judd Shows Off Curves in Bathing Suit to Talk About Menopause: ‘We Don't Care Club'

Ashley Judd is no longer caring what others think and embracing her inner child as she experiences postmenopause. Judd, 57, took to Instagram on Tuesday, July 22, to share a video of herself splashing around in the Baltic Sea while showing off her curves in a green one-piece swimsuit. 'Hi, I'm Ashley and I'm a member of the We Don't Care Club,' she said. 'Sometimes when I wear a swimsuit, I get a little chafing, like right down there, so I put on cornstarch. Good trick if you don't know it already.' After showing off a non-stinging type of jellyfish in her hands, Judd placed the sea creature back into the water and said she was 'picking my crotch and I don't care.' She told fans about her 'MSU Club,' or 'Make Stuff Up Club,' and said that as a 'postmenopausal woman, I don't care if you don't like the MSU Club.' Celebrities That Are Leading the Body-Positive Movement: Mindy Kaling, Demi Lovato, Jameela Jamil and More Next, Judd flung herself backward into the water to soak her hair and showed off the cellulite on her legs, again telling fans, 'I don't care.' She also did a handstand, a belly flop and a backflip. In the caption, Judd wrote, ''Cause menopause (peri - post) is human biology. It is universal to females & global. What can be a hope of We Don't Care Club? What will I, with my freedom & mirth, when I let go of caring about stupid, controlling norms about my female body, be free to enJOY?' Menopause is the natural phase when periods stop for good, according to Mayo Clinic. Symptoms include hot flashes, sleep changes and mood swings. It can happen in someone's 40s and 50s, but the average age is 51 in the U.S., the clinic reports. There is also perimenopause, which is the stage leading up to menopause, and postmenopause, which is typically 12 months after periods end. Judd encouraged her followers to 'play, be silly, have fun and feel boundless joy.' 'I bask in the unselfconscious being-ness of my True Self. My Inner Child is free to emerge. She feels confidence & glee,' she continued. 'If you let yourself be free, how would your True Self & Inner Child spend your Carefree Timelessness?' Judd asked how readers can 'let go of what others expect, think, need [and] want. What do 🤍YOU🤍 feel, need, want, from yourself? Judd tagged Melani Sanders, the creator of the 'We Do Not Care' movement, and promoted her own 'Make Stuff Up Club.' Katherine Heigl on Her Perimenopausal Journey, C-Section Scars and Aging in Hollywood 'Inner Children🌸 have such beautiful, creative imaginations. They want to be seen, heard, be safe, & play. If as an adult, I am caught up in what others think of me, I ignore, neglect, & abandon my own tender Self. Today, that's off the table,' Judd concluded. 'Into the Sea for me, to splash & play!' Judd revealed she was 'post-menopausal since 2018' via a June 4 Instagram post. 'And super comfortable with that. Peri, menopause, and post-menopause is human biology and medically accurate,' she wrote. 'Sex education is essential. I am rejoicing in @justbeingmelani un muzzling of peri/post/menopausal expression and her inviting in all kinds of women to liberate their 'I don't cares!' We are enough, we do enough, it is enough. It is okay, we are okay. It is human biology. Fact and true. To all my menopausal ladies out there, what are your don't cares?!' Solve the daily Crossword

Billy Joel reflects on what he learned from relationship with Christie Brinkley after ‘devastating' divorce

Billy Joel has divulged what it was like to fall in love with his second wife, Christie Brinkley. In part two of the 'Piano Man' singer's HBO documentary, Billy Joel: And So It Goes, the two exes discussed what their relationship was like when they first started dating. The former couple first met in 1983 while on vacation in St. Barts. After discovering they both lived in New York City, they made plans to keep in touch and went on their first date to a Beach Boys concert. 'Here I am dating this beautiful supermodel and... me? I'm from Hicksville. What am I doing with her? What's she doing with me? But that was a very productive time for me,' Joel, 76, said in the documentary of his Long Island, New York upbringing. 'I wrote a lot of songs for her. She was a muse.' He continued, 'It was like being a teenager all over again. Experiencing those same emotions that I had when I was first discovering romance and love.' Brinkley said that while their 'whirlwind romance' was 'just so much fun' during the first few years, she noted the turning point was in 1989 when Joel released his 'I Go to Extreme' single. Describing the song, Brinkley said it reflected her husband 'boomeranging between being a family man and tortured artist' as he would sneak away in the middle of the night to drink. That same year, the 'Vienna' singer filed a $90 million fraud and breach of contract lawsuit against his former manager, Frank Weber. To regain the money, Joel had to adjust his tour, which further drove the wedge between Brinkley and their daughter Alexa. 'I was in a relationship with someone who I cared deeply about. But I was not able to be at home. I was not able to be with my family. It was a very sad time for me,' the 'Uptown Girl' singer said. 'I realized love is not concrete. You feel like it is, but there are things eating away at it. And in the end, it all catches up. It's hard. I was so devastated.' 'He said, 'Yeah, fine, go.' I tried. I wanted it to work,' Brinkley recalled one of their final fights. 'I knew how lucky I was, having music and all of that. But it just didn't work.' The two divorced in 1994 after being married for nine years. Joel went on to marry twice more for a total of four wives. He remains with Alexis Roderick, whom he married in 2015. They share two daughters: Della, 9, and Remy, 7. Brinkley has been married four times but remains closest to Joel and named her new memoir, 'Uptown Girl,' after the hit 1983 song inspired in part by her. She, too, has opened up about being with Joel. Brinkley told Page Six earlier this year: 'To be clear, I never wanted to end things with Billy,' she said. 'I read every self-help book I could find … we went to see a string of psychiatrists, psychologists and other medical doctors.' Brinkley also said she and Joel 'were probably really soulmates. It was an amazing time of my life.' Part two of Billy Joel: And So It Goes premieres Friday on HBO.

Mariah Carey Shares ‘Sugar Sweet' Single With Kehlani And Shenseea

Mariah Carey Mariah Carey is gearing up for a major return to music with her first new album in nearly a decade. The Grammy-winning icon teased her return with the single 'Type Dangerous' last month, and followed it up earlier this month with 'Type Dangerous' remix EP featuring Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Redman, Big Sean, DJ Snake, and Luísa Sonza. This week, Carey announced the forthcoming release of her sixteenth album Here For It All, set for release in September. For her latest preview of the project, Carey has released the single 'Sugar Sweet,' a new collaboration with Kehlani and Shenseea that calls to mind Carey's classic mashups of R&B, pop, and hip-hop. Carey recruited R&B producer and frequent Justin Bieber collaborator Harv to bring 'Sugar Sweet' to life. 'Walk to the car and there you are / Can't explain the rush that I feel / Open up the door, you pull me towards you / Then you put your lips on me,' Carey sings on the track. 'Hate it when you have to leave / But I don't say a thing / 'Cause I will absolutely get the ring.' Getting to be able to work with Carey was a dream come true for Kehlani. 'The earliest video of me singing and first song I ever learned was 'Hero' and everybody who knows me knows this is one of my heroes,' Kehlani said of Carey on Instagram. 'This woman is the definition of an icon. To have given us so much for decades and never fail to impress us through all the twists and turns music makes. I am so honored and immensely grateful." At this point in her career, Carey has nothing to prove, and thus was in no rush to make a new album. Instead, she allowed it to come together naturally. 'I would make like four songs and then be like, 'We can start making an album now,' and then I would never do it,' she admitted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. 'And then I got up to like 10 songs and we were basically ready with an album.' Here For It All is out Sept. 26.
