Who is missing inventor Julian Brown - and why is his 'disappearance' such a mys
A 21-year-old inventor who disappeared after posting cryptic videos saying he was under attack is keeping a low profile, according to his mum.
Julian Brown has not been seen in public since July 9 after he posted a video claiming that he was under attack.
Nia Brown told reporters she could not provide anymore details.
But who is Julian Brown and why is there mystery over his whereabouts? We take a look below.
Julian is an inventor who lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and has more than 1.7million followers on Instagram.
He gained prominence for his work in the energy field in particular 'Plastoline'.
The inventor has gained lots of public attention and millions of followers after sharing updates on social media about his work.
He's only hit the headlines this month after his mysterious disappearance from social media.
Julian is the founder of Naturejab, a company that makes natural products, as 'an innovator in the use of microwave pyrolysis of plastic waste.'
He is best known for inventing Plastoline – a device that he claims converts plastic waste into usable fuels such as gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
This is achieved by microwave pyrolysis which heats plastic in the absence of oxygen to break it down chemically into fuel.
He first learnt his skills at school during a welding class.
Talking about his inspiration behind the creation of the technology, he said: 'It made me so upset that even though we are told that we are recycling, plastic is clearly ending up in the oceans and landfills where it is affecting so many lives, including our own.'
He received $100,000 from Reddit co-creator Alexis Ohanian, to realise his dream.
Julian has not been heard from since July 9 and posted a chilling video before his disappearance.
He wrote in a post: 'Something is happening, keep me in your prayers please. SCREEN RECORD THIS. I don't know.
'I'm certainly under attack… I can't go into so much detail.'
Before July 9, he also posted some concerning messages where it appeared like he felt he was being targeted.
He wrote on July 3: 'A SECRET Helicopter circled me in the middle of NOWHERE… and it gets even scarier – Pray for me please.'
It sparked concern from his followers that he was in danger for his invention. More Trending
His mum Nia told Daily Mail that Julian is not missing and that he is safe despite his quiet presence online.
She said: 'I can confirm Julian is safe but in the best interest of his security I'm not able to provide any more information.'
But when she was pressed for further details, she said she could not provide anymore information.
It is still a mystery as to when Julian will make a public appearance again.

Carer, 44, 'urged boy at kids' home to go missing so they could have night away'
Lindy Leah, 44, allegedly 'fell in love with' a teenage boy at the kids' home where she worked, and was said to have encouraged him to go 'missing from care' so they could spend time together A care worker encouraged a boy at the children's home she worked at to go "missing" so they could later meet up for a night away, a court heard. Lindy Leah, 44, from Warrington, allegedly "fell in love" with the teen, who she had been assigned to as his key worker. Lindy worked as a deputy manager at the home. The 44-year-old was said to have worn inappropriate and revealing outfits in his presence and allowed him to sleep in her bed, as well as apparently asking him "for a love bite", the court heard. She however "denies any improper behaviour" and is currently on trial at Liverpool Crown Court. Jurors were read a series of WhatsApp messages which were exchanged between Leah and the boy yesterday afternoon, Liverpool Echo reports. One one occasion, she told him "proper paranoid" that she had "lost him to a slag" before stating: "If you never met me then your life would be better. I miss you so much. All I want is for me and you to have a night away from everyone, just us. So if I wake up from these tablets and wine, then we will." Leah then went on to add: "Do you wanna go MSC [missing from care]? I love you so much. Can I book somewhere for me and you on Friday? Red and silky with some balloons and flake. Make sure you get your arse home tonight so you can go missing from care with me without there being meetings." Graham Pickavance, prosecuting, told the court that "balloons" was a "colloquial term" for the class C drug nitrous oxide. In a further message, Leah told the teen: "Just listened to a song and it made me cry. Stupid love songs. It made me think of you, then it made me cry. I won't be listening to that again. Add me back on Instagram now. "Why you took me off it? I get paranoid. I find it hard to trust you. I'm just scared you're still talking to her and going to see her. I just can't bear catching you out again. What's the point, because you know I'll find out? I hate her." In another message, Leah said: "I wanted to give you the chance to apologise to me before I left. I can't do this any more. I'm done. You really are not sorry for what you did today. Vile, what you did to me today. "Texting 'I'm sorry' after you called me all of the names and hit me isn't enough. Bye. Enjoy your ket session. One day you will realise what you did to me today. Enjoy the last 25 quid you ever took from me. Last chance to see me before I go." Leah was meanwhile said to have promised to buy the boy a tracksuit if he "stop sniffing ket" for two weeks. But, in a further message, she told him: "What you've done to me is vile. The worst thing is you, you don't even give a f***. You got what you wanted. "You actually don't give a f***. This will be the hardest decision of my life. I deserve to be treated better. The fact you stole and lied and you can't be arsed begging me to take you back shows you don't even give a f*** about me. Bye then. You hurt me then won't even speak to me. Instead of making an effort to say sorry, you blocked me. "You really want me to go away forever. You lied and stole from me and you blocked me. If I lied and stole from you would you speak to me? You're horrible to me. You don't care if you ever speak to me again or see me again. You're with your mates and they're clearly more important than how I feel. "Instead of being vile to me, how about fixing what you broke? You had no right to block me on Instagram and Snapchat. Add me back now. It's not even funny, 'cos I'm the one crying again. I've done f*** all wrong and I'm the one that gets hurt again. You genuinely don't give a f*** about me at all. A jury of six men and six women previously heard that Leah, of Capesthorne Road in Orford, Warrington, was employed as deputy manager of the care home in St Helens where the boy had been placed and was assigned as his key worker. But Mr Pickavance said during the prosecution's opening: "The defendant, by her own admission, admitted that she fell in love with him. But the crown say that it was not simply parental love, but something that went far beyond that and was physical love." While the teenager "does not support the prosecution", colleagues described "inappropriate" behaviour from Leah, who wore a black dress in the dock with her blonde hair tied back in a bun, as well as "unprofessional interventions which prevented [the boy] from being challenged about his behaviour". He was also said to have been seen lying in her bed at the home "as if it was completely normal", with the defendant having apparently remarked of this: "He's comfortable. He always does that. No one else has a problem." A subsequent investigation by Merseyside Police similarly recovered video footage of the teenager asleep in her bed. Leah was meanwhile reported to have "worn skin tight and highly revealing clothing" in his presence, including a bodysuit with no underwear and a "highly visible thong". The youth's mum also "grew more concerned" about the relationship between her son and Leah, who allegedly told the mother that the boy "had her wrapped around his little finger" and called him "gorgeous and handsome". Mr Pickavance added that messages exchanged between the two "painted a picture of a relationship far removed from a carer and child". When interviewed by detectives, she "denied any improper behaviour" but, having been released on bail under conditions not to contact the boy, the two were then spotted together weeks later beside a white Audi car at Walton Hall and Gardens in Warrington by a fellow care worker. Leah, who is represented by Rebecca Filletti, denies one count of being a person in a position of trust causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. The trial, before Judge Brian Cummings KC, continues.

Hero who saved Princess Anne from kidnap slams decision to release her attacker
The man who thwarted the attempted kidnapping of Princess Anne has expressed his fury after the man responsible for the attack was released from custody The man who stopped the attempted kidnapping of Princess Anne has condemned the decision to free the man responsible for the attack, saying he "should've hit him harder". In March 1974, the Princess Royal was stalked by then 26-year-old Ian Bell who attempted to then kidnap the princess on The Mall, shooting four people who tried to stop the attack. Ball appeared at the Old Bailey and was detained "without limit of time" under the Mental Health Act after he admitted to kidnap and attempted murders. But Ball, who is now 77, was quietly released from the high-security Broadmoor Hospital, much to the dismay of Ronnie 'The Geezer' Russell, who rushed to Anne's aid during the terrifying attack. It comes after news that Prince Harry will 'never be forgiven' by two major royals despite reconciliation hope. READ MORE: Joanna Lumley says King Charles 'really is ill' as she shares rare health battle insight Ronnie was driving past when the then 23-year-old Anne was approached by Ball, who was attempting to abduct her and demand a £3million ransom from Queen Elizabeth. Despite being threatened with a gun, Ronnie confronted Ball and landed three punches during the tense standoff, before police were able to overpower the would-be kidnapper. Since his release, Ball has launched a campaign to overturn his conviction, while maintaining that the kidnap attempt was a 'hoax,' despite having admitted his crimes, including the attempted murder of two police officers, at the Old Bailey in 1974. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Russell said of Ball's freedom: 'I can't believe Ball's been released, it's ridiculous. I should have hit him a bit harder. Am I worried he might come and find me? Let's go further – give him my address, and I'll go one better this time. 'He's saying now, 'None of it ever happened, there was supposed to be no gunpowder in the bullets.' It's absolutely impossible, because it did happen. I was there, watching him plead guilty. He should be recalled to Broadmoor.' After the attempted kidnapping, Ball went on to spend 45 years in high-security psychiatric care, first at Rampton, then Broadmoor, where he spent thousands to publish his book To Kill a Princess in 2019 through the self-publishing firm Publish Nation Limited. Russell seethed at Ball's actions, saying: 'When Ball was put away 'at Her Majesty's pleasure' we were all sure he'd never be out. 'I can't see any reason why he's been released, why a publishing company agreed to print his autobiography, or how come he's had benefits to save the money to go to Barbados. I'm going to Barbados later this year, but that's because I worked for it. He's been mollycoddled, and it's been too easy for him.' Ronnie then recalled his version of events from the night of the attempted kidnapping, saying he was working for a cleaning firm when he drove down the Mall that night in 1974 and saw the scene unfolding. The heroic man jumped from his vehicle and landed a punch on Ball, before running around the side of the car to the aid of a terrified Anne. He said: 'I was lifting Princess Anne out of the car by her forearms, saying 'Now we're going to walk away, and he's going to have to go through me to get to you'. I was a big lad. But Ball came round the car. 'When I turned, he was stood there with his gun pointed at me... shouting, 'Come on, Anne, you've got to come.' That's when I decided it was going to be me, or him. I had to hit him first, and harder. I was quite prepared to sacrifice myself for a member of the Royal Family.' After the attempted kidnapping, Ronnie was invited to Buckingham Palace where he received the George Medal from the late Queen. Recalling the event, Russell remembered: 'The Queen went, 'This medal thanks you as the Queen of England – I want to thank you as Anne's mother.' That was a touching moment.'

Apprentice star tackles attacker after 'three people slashed in Aldi car park'
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A man has been charged with attempted murder after a knife attack outside a supermarket which saw a television star come to the rescue. Passersby and shoppers at Aldi in the Bevois area of Southampton saw a man brandishing a knife outside the shop on Sunday afternoon. Large swathes of the supermarket car park were cordoned off by police after the incident, during which video captured the moment two police officers handcuffed a man on the pavement nearby. What appears to be a knife can be seen on the road nearby. Sohail Chowdhary, who appeared on The Apprentice in 2022, was one of the first people on the scene after three people were injured or threatened with the blade. He told the Daily Echo he and three others tried to distract the suspect while others ran to safety. Sohail also pulled the suspect off a father-to-be who had fallen over while trying to get away. He said: 'We went to go have a look. We saw a guy with a helmet, then we saw the other guy had a knife. 'We were a bit like what the heck. The amount of blood he had on his knife we weren't going to risk that. '[The man on the floor] told me afterwards that he has a kid on the way so thank god he didn't get stabbed.' Sohail along with one of his colleagues at Limitless Martial Arts, the gym he owns, and two of his students, got involved to try and distract the suspect while waiting for the police to arrive. Describing how his staff and students reacted to the incident, he said: 'I am just proud of these guys. 'I wasn't expecting that on a Sunday morning. It could have been a lot worse. More Trending 'This incident has made many of us more alert. We will now be actively ensuring that all our students, adults and children alike, are aware of what to do in emergency situations, both inside and outside of class. 'It makes me more and more grateful to not only change lives, but to now officially save lives.' Azzedvie Mahmoudi, 46, of Cobbett Road, Southampton, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder, one of attempted GBH, three of threatening a person with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place, and one of possessing a blade or sharp pointed article in a public place.
