Dyson announces latest Airwrap styler that's faster and lighter than older models
With the first Dyson Airwrap Styler launched back in 2018, the tech brand has since released a variety of models so shoppers can achieve bouncy curls and gorgeous blow dries with ease. Now fans will be delighted to hear that Dyson's most awarded hair styler is getting an upgrade this year.
Set to be released in September, Dyson has just launched the Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x multi-styler and dryer. Available in both Jasper Plum and Ceramic Pink, this new Airwrap is said to make styling easier while also protecting your hair.
With a price tag of £579.99, shoppers will need to sign up to Dyson's newsletter to be alerted of when the styler is ready to hit the shelves. So what can shoppers expect from this new Airwarp?
Said to be Dyson's 'most advanced' Airwrap yet, the Co-anda multi-styler will feature a brand new motor that "spins nine times faster than a Formula 1 car engine", reports the Mirror. On top of this, the device includes smart sensor technology that will adapt each attachment to the best airflow and temperature settings.
In comparison to the Airwarp i.d. styler (RRP £479.99), is latest edition is smaller and lighter, making it easier for shoppers to use through their hair.
Coming with a Dyson-designed case, the Co-anda styler comes with two sets that consist of six attachments. The Straight + Wavy set consists of a 30mm Co-anda2x curling barrel, 40mm Co-anda2x curling barrel, anti-snag loop brush 2x, round volumising brush 2x, AirSmooth 2x attachment and fast dryer 2x.
And for the Curly + Coily set, shoppers will get a 40mm Co-anda2x curling barrel, anti-snag loop brush 2x, round volumising brush 2x, tension comb 2x, Wave+Curl diffuser 2x and fast dryer 2x.
With a new and improved motor, users will see a reduction in the amount of time that it takes to curl their hair. In fact, the device will be able to create tight, voluminous and loose curls faster by using 30 per cent more product power and two times more air pressure than older devices.
Users should also have a more comfortable experience with the new Airwrap as it comes with an anti-snag loop brush. This attachment comes with new hook bristles that should provide increased control nearer the root of the hair, while also providing comfort on the scalp.
For those who instead want to straighten their hair, they will be able to do so with the AirSmooth 2x attachment. This add-on features two non-heated contact bars and two jets of high velocity air. This should remove frizz while also straightening the hair.
Once the attachment has completely passed through your hair, the arms will automatically unclamp to release the hair to avoid any unnecessary damage.
Some fans of Dyson's hair care products have already seen the trailer video of Dyson's newest Airwrap, and a few were quick to leave their guesses about the device.
One person said: "Oh looks like a blow dryer, a new smooth brush, round brush, curler… and is that a straightener attachment?"

While the idea of the Dyson Airwrap is appealing to many, the devices also come with a hefty price tag that many of us can't afford. Thankfully, there are similar products on the market that are a bit cheaper.
For example, Boots has reduced the price of the Shark FlexStyle 4-in-1 Air Styler & Hair Dryer. Normally retailing for £259.99, shoppers can now grab it for £199.99. This styler can switch between being a powerful hair dryer and a versatile styling wand.
Alternatively, Amazon is selling the GLAMUP AirCurler 6 in 1 Multi Hair Styler for £149. This versatile styler comes with wrap curlers, a silk straight nozzle, a paddle brush, a volumiser and a dryer nozzle attachment so users can blowdry, smooth, curl and style their hair any way they want.
Talking about the new Dyson Airwrap, Sir James Dyson, founder and chief engineer of Dyson said: "Dyson has developed a new motor for our new Airwrap2x, which spins at 150,000rpm, delivering twice the air pressure, faster drying and less heat damage.
"The high pressure creates a longer lasting curl or straighter styles. Traditional stylers can damage hair, but we have always focused on developing tools that protect hair health whilst enhancing without compromising precision and or performance. We harness our expertise in motors, fluid dynamics, and materials to continually improve."

Caerphilly secondary school pupils win STEM challenge
The group from St Martin's School in Caerphilly will now enjoy a VIP visit to Silverstone after winning the British Council's Learning Sectors competition. Supported by Formula 1, the programme connects schools in the UK, South Africa, and India to tackle real-world science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) challenges. Francisco Lopez, lead teacher at St Martin's School, said: "What started as a small school project quickly grew beyond expectations. "The students worked independently, reached out to experts such as Welsh Water and developed not just one idea but a range of thoughtful, realistic solutions. "They learned that global issues like water scarcity aren't just engineering problems – they involve people, politics, and empathy." The Caerphilly pupils partnered with Hoërskool Koffiefontein in South Africa, whose students highlighted a serious water supply issue in their town. Through video calls and research, the Welsh students developed a plan addressing technical solutions and the broader social and economic context of the crisis. In return, the South African pupils explored the UK's cost of living crisis, focusing on ways to reduce energy and heating costs. Mr Lopez said the win was a shock. He said: "I was over the moon – especially for the students. "I ran to tell the headteacher. "The competition across the UK was fierce, and honestly, I didn't expect to win. "I had to read the announcement email twice. "This is a memory they'll carry for the rest of their lives. "Some are big F1 fans and they couldn't believe they'd be VIP guests." As part of their prize, the eight-strong team – four boys and four girls – will meet Formula 1 engineers, tour the paddock, and see how STEM is used in elite motorsport. The Learning Sectors programme aims to reach 700 schools worldwide in its first year.

George Russell: Max Verstappen will not replace me at Mercedes this year
George Russell says the chances of him not being a Mercedes driver next year are 'exceptionally low', adding he expects Kimi Antonelli to remain as his team-mate. The Englishman, 27, is understood to have been assured by Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff that a new contract is on the way. 'The likelihood I'm not at Mercedes next year is, I think, exceptionally low,' Russell said on Thursday. 'I personally think things will continue as they are. But again, until the contract is on the table on my side, and also for Kimi, you can never be sure.' Russell was speaking ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix, where he will attempt to make it two wins in two years for Mercedes following Lewis Hamilton's triumph 12 months ago. Paddock intrigue ahead of the race has once again focused on a story which has been bubbling away for months, but which really exploded in Austria last week after Russell implied the hold-up to his contract extension was because Mercedes were still investigating the possibility of signing Verstappen. Russell all but confirmed on Thursday that he would be staying. Whether his deal will be just a one-year extension for 2026, leaving the door open for Verstappen to join in his place in 2027, or whether Verstappen comes in for Antonelli next season or the season after, to form what would be a blockbuster partnership with Russell, remains to be seen. But Russell clearly feels he is going nowhere. And he added on Thursday that he would have no issue in going up against Verstappen. 'I wouldn't be surprised if he comes,' he said. 'And if he comes I'd welcome him as a team-mate. But I don't think he will be at Mercedes next year. 'I'm not scared of Max. He's obviously an amazing driver in the same way Lewis [Hamilton] was an amazing driver.' Asked whether Verstappen might have an issue going up against him, Russell said: 'He shouldn't be scared of anybody. He's got no reason to be. For whatever reason Red Bull has been a one car team for the last few years. I don't think that would be the case at Mercedes, McLaren or Ferrari.' The two have had their differences in the past, with Verstappen calling Russell a 'princess' and a 'loser' and Russell saying Verstappen was a 'bully'. But Russell said they could work together. 'We're professionals,' he said. 'We're adults. You move on from that. It's part of life. I don't think you need to be best friends to be team mates with someone. You just need to be amicable.' Verstappen, for his part, played down reports that he wanted to leave Red Bull. The Dutch driver is believed to have an option in his contract allowing him to break his contract, which officially runs until 2028, if he is outside of the top three come the summer break. 'I am happy and comfortable where I am at,' he told Sky Sports F1. Asked whether he might take a sabbatical next year, Verstappen was emphatic. 'No, no, for sure not,' he said. Friday's first practice session at Silverstone will provide a first opportunity for British race fans to see Red Bull teenager Arvid Lindblad in action. The 17-year-old British-Swedish prospect, who currently competes in F2 for Campos Racing, was granted an exemption for an FIA Super Licence last month, opening the door for a potential F1 seat. Lindblad will drive Yuki Tsunoda's Red Bull. 'To be making my F1 debut as a British driver, on a British track, in front of a British crowd, is going to be really amazing,' he said. 'My aim is to get up to speed in the car really quickly, get Yuki good data to help him across the weekend, lead the team in a good direction and try to drive quickly as well. I can't wait to hit the track and get going.' Meanwhile, 59 year-old American Tim Mayer will announce on Friday morning that he is running against incumbent Mohammed Ben Sulayem for the presidency of motorsport's governing body the FIA in December's election. Mayer, who is the son of former McLaren team principal Teddy Mayer, was unceremoniously fired by Ben Sulayem as a steward last November. He will make the announcement at Whittlebury Hall, near Silverstone, on Friday morning.

George Russell speaks out on Mercedes future amid Max Verstappen talks
George Russell 's contract with Mercedes is due to expire after the 2025 season, despite his current strong performance. Mercedes are reportedly in discussions with Max Verstappen, who is currently contracted to Red Bull until 2028. Russell remains confident he will stay with Mercedes, citing private conversations with Toto Wolff and the team's loyalty. He is unconcerned by speculation linking Verstappen to the team, stating he trusts Wolff's word and does not expect to leave. Russell hopes for a resolution regarding his contract in the coming weeks, before the Formula 1 summer break.
