Diddy warns Kanye West to ‘be careful' in alleged phone call from jail: ‘They definitely trying to end us'

Independent19-03-2025
Sean ' Diddy ' Combs warned Kanye West to 'be careful' and encouraged him to get back to making music in an alleged phone call from jail.
The embattled music mogul and rapper, 55, is currently being held at a federal detention center in New York City as he awaits trial for a litany of charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has denied all of the allegations.
'This s*** is wicked, wicked, wicked. So you be careful,' Combs told West, 47, in a recording of an apparent phone call shared Monday on Instagram by The Shade Room.
'I need you out there, you feel me?' he continued. 'And have some f***ing fun, because we not having no fun in in here. Get back behind the mic, have some fun, chop up them samples.
'Have some fun. Get back to smiling. F*** these other motherf***ers. They'll waste your time,' he said.
'So put that love in your heart, and enjoy yourself, man. When I get out there, man, I want to see you f***ing tear down the stadiums. I need to see you back on that stage, actually rapping and actually performing and everything. I be dreaming of that s***.'
West concurred: 'Yeah, it's time for me to grab the mic and get back [out there]. I love music again. There was a time when everything was so frustrating. I can't even explain it.'
Telling West to 'jump in [his] bag,' Combs said: 'We gonna have years and decades to f***ing fight these motherf***ers.'
He further encouraged West to return to his music roots, saying: 'Right now, enjoy your life. This is coming from me to God to you. Fall back in love like when you was making the beats in the Chi,' referring to West's hometown of Chicago.
'So I love you, man, I appreciate you, and thanks again. I'm gonna see you soon,' he said, with West replying: 'Yes, sir. That's how it's gonna be. You gonna definitely beat this s***.'
'But I'm gonna call you back. It'll be good to hear your voice again. I got like 59 more days before trial, so I'll definitely be touching in to tap into your energy or something. Play me some s*** over the phone. Give me some f***ing life. This s*** is f***ing sad. I'm Puf Daddy in jail.'
'This s*** insane,' West replied, after which Combs claimed: 'The devil is a liar.'
He again warned West to 'be careful out there,' because 'they definitely trying to end us.'
'I'm gonna beat this s*** and get next to you. We gon' raise our families and become the kings that we supposed to be,' Combs added.
The Independent has reached out to representatives for both West and Combs for comment.
West, who is embroiled in several controversies of his own, has been a fervant supporter of Combs, who has since been hit with a string of additional lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault, sexual abuse and harassment following his initial September arrest.
Earlier this week, the 'Flashing Lights' rapper released a new song featuring Combs and his eldest daughter, North.
West's ex-wife Kim Kardashian has reportedly threatened to take legal action against him for going against her wishes and releasing the song.

Veteran broadcaster Michael Buerk slams 'white saviour' criticism of Live Aid: 'If you're dying of starvation, you're not really that concerned about the colour of the person saving you'

Michael Buerk hit out at 'white saviour' criticism of the Live Aid concerts yesterday, branding the controversy 'obscene'. The veteran broadcaster – whose heart-rending reports on the Ethiopian famine in 1984 led to musicians Bob Geldof and Midge Ure organising the event – rejected accusations that the West was being 'paternalistic'. It came as the global charity fundraiser marked its 40th anniversary yesterday. The BBC presenter told Radio 4's Broadcasting House current affairs programme: 'If you were one of the women picking through donkey dung trying to find undigested seeds or one of the children whose eyes were rotting through vitamin deficiency, if you were a guy... have you seen somebody dying from starvation? The body eats itself from inside. 'If you're one of those people... you're not really that concerned about whether your saviour is white or black and I think The Guardian thinks we're being paternalistic. 'It's rather obscene that people should go around talking about white saviours. Any saviour in that context is very welcome indeed.' The veteran broadcaster – whose heart-rending reports on the Ethiopian famine in 1984 led to musicians Bob Geldof and Midge Ure organising the event – rejected accusations that the West was being 'paternalistic' The 79-year-old, who now presents Radio 4's Moral Maze, added he thought the wave of compassion generated by his reports, on the then BBC Ten O'Clock News, was no longer possible to achieve today. 'There were ten million audiences for the main evening news and fewer distractions. People weren't on their phones all the time. 'I think we live in a more selfish, more cynical and more stupid world.' Buerk admitted he had misgivings when he 'first heard what Geldof was up to'. 'I thought what are these prancing stars, for goodness' sake? But now I take the opposite view about Geldof and what happened then.' Live Aid, which was seen by about 1.5billion people in more than 150 countries, helped in raising around £150 million for famine relief. But since then some have questioned the symbolism of white people in the West coming to the rescue of a helpless and impoverished Africa. Kanye West hits out at 'absurd' sex trafficking lawsuit from ex-assistant

Kanye West hit back after being accused of sexual assault and sex trafficking by his former personal assistant in a bombshell complaint. Lauren Pisciotta originally sued the Gold Digger rapper, 48, last June, alleging that he stalked and sexually harassed her while she worked for him—claims he previously denied. After amending her complaint in October, she has reportedly now made fresh allegations in a second complaint, accusing him of assault, battery, sex trafficking, and false imprisonment. In a new statement via his representatives, West blasted the claims as 'absurd,' noting that Pisciotta has advanced her legal complaint 'four times'. 'Each new revision contradicts the others; each is more absurd and outlandish than all previous claims combined,' the Yeezy spokesperson told 'Does Ms. Pisciotta actually believe her confabulations? We cannot know. But this breathless new instalment of fantasy fiction discredits all past, present, and future testimony.' The response continued: 'We stand ready to annihilate Ms. Pisciotta's tall tales before a jury—an exoneration so inevitable that even she, lost in her fog of fantasy, must surely see it coming.' Yeezy representative Milo Yiannopoulos also issued a statement regarding 'the absurdity of Pisciotta's quadruply revised claims, which now include kidnapping, battery, rape, false imprisonment, and even sex trafficking.' 'She picked the one rapper who loathes violence, has never been arrested, and doesn't even own a gun,' Yiannopoulos said. In the original documents obtained by TMZ, Pisciotta, who worked under the dad-of-four between 2021 and 2022, said that the pair travelled to San Francisco to break ground on his Donda school. While on the work trip, the OnlyFans model claimed that he made unwanted advances, which she tried to fend off, before he kissed her and asked personal questions about her vagina. She further alleged that, during a writing session in his hotel suite, West masturbated and touched her vagina but fell asleep mid-sentence. The outlet reports that he then showed up at her hotel room to use the shower but shoved her onto a bed and pinned her down, forcing his penis into her mouth. Influencer Pisciotta reportedly begged him to stop and then 'froze in shock and 'fear'—the Grammy winner eventually apologised and walked out of her room. It was also claimed that he offered Pisciotta as a sexual gift to an unnamed person in exchange for letting him have sex with their partner. She added that the musician 'notoriously offered women as sexual gifts to men'. After West's public response this weekend, Pisciotta's attorney, Lisa Bloom, also spoke out. 'While Kanye West's publicist has come up with a slickly worded (and outrageously false and defamatory) attack on Ms. Pisciotta, Kanye himself has publicly admitted much of what she's claiming,' Bloom began. 'Kanye's publicist is deafeningly silent on Kanye's own admissions, which will destroy him in court. 'We look forward to seeing him there, where he cannot hide behind a high-priced spin team.' West hired Pisciotta in July 2021, and she was promoted to Chief of Staff for his various companies the following year. She alleged that she was fired in October 2022, and offered $3million (£2.2m) in severance but never received the money. Last year, she filed a lawsuit suing him for breach of contract, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and a hostile work environment. The fashion designer has already denied all allegations made against him once before, accusing his former employee of 'blackmail and extortion'. 'In response to these baseless allegations, Ye will be filing a lawsuit against Ms. Pisciotta, who actively pursued him sexually to coerce employment and other material benefits, then engaged in blackmail and extortion when her advances were rejected,' his team told TMZ last June. More Trending 'It is evident that Ms. Pisciotta leveraged her association with Ye and his company, and her proximity to him, to seek material gains, clout, and employment through inappropriate means.' In mounting claims last October, she claimed that he drugged and raped her while attending a party thrown by Sean 'Diddy' Combs. It's not the only blow dealt to the rapper. Rubicon Festival in Slovakia was cancelled on July 11 following a huge outcry after Ye was set to headline. Got a story? Bishops call on UK government to take action over settler violence in West Bank

Four senior Church of England bishops have called on the UK government to intensify the use of sanctions and to be willing to suspend its trade agreement with Israel over settler violence in the occupied West Bank. The situation there is 'in freefall with increasing levels of settler violence and intimidation against Palestinians,' the bishops say in a letter to the Guardian. The settlers are acting with impunity, they add. 'Settler violence is state violence by any other name.' The letter is signed by Guli Francis-Dehqani, the bishop of Chelmsford; Rachel Treweek, bishop of Gloucester; Graham Usher, bishop of Norwich; and Christopher Chessun, bishop of Southwark. All four sit in the House of Lords. It highlights the situation in Taybeh, the last remaining Christian-majority village in the West Bank, where there have been 'a series of systematic attacks by settlers on the town's land and holy sites, including St George's, its fifth-century church'. The letter says: 'As well as threatening the town's security and livelihood, these attacks undermine the dignity of its Christian residents and threaten their historical and religious heritage. Residents fear expulsion from their land and homes. This is part of a wider strategy of control and coercion rendering life unviable for Palestinians across the occupied territory.' According to church leaders in Taybeh, settlers have damaged olive trees and prevented Palestinian farmers from accessing their land. Illegal settlement outposts have expanded in the area under military protection, they say. On Friday, a Palestinian-American man was killed allegedly by Israeli settlers while visiting relatives in the West Bank. Sayfollah 'Saif' Musallet, 20, was reportedly beaten by settlers on his family's farm in an area near Ramallah. Another Palestinian man, Razek Hussein al-Shalabi, 23, was fatally shot during the attack and was left to bleed to death, the Palestinian health ministry said. Two weeks earlier, more than 100 settlers rampaged through the village of Kafr Malik, near Ramallah, killing three men and injuring several more people. The Israeli military has been accused by rights groups of standing by or even helping as settlers raid Palestinian villages, where they vandalise property and attack residents. Arrests of settlers are rare. The bishops call on the UK government to take action in the form of sanctions against individuals, illegal settler outposts and organisations that support violence, and by suspending the UK-Israel trade agreement. 'The UK government has a legal and moral duty to ensure Britain is taking all necessary steps to address settler violence, which threatens not just the peace of the region but the continued presence of Christians in this Holy Land,' they say. At the C of E's ruling body, the General Synod, which is meeting in York this weekend, the Rt Rev David Innes, the bishop responsible for Europe, expressed 'disappointment' that there was no debate scheduled on events in Gaza and the West Bank. There was deep concern and horror about what was happening in the West Bank and Gaza, he told representatives, and appealed for time to 'be given to this appalling international situation'. Hosam Naoum, the archbishop of Jerusalem, was due to address the synod on Sunday but was unable to do so due to ill health.
