EgyptAir Launches Air Bridge to Bring Pilgrims Home from Saudi Arabia

H-Tayea
EgyptAir has officially launched its return airlift operation today, Monday, to transport pilgrims back to Egypt following the completion of Hajj rituals. The national carrier is operating six flights from Jeddah to Cairo, carrying pilgrims from Sohag, Beheira, Giza, Menoufia, and Beni Suef, in addition to individual pilgrims, tourism delegations, transit passengers, and residents working abroad.
During this year's Hajj season, EgyptAir will transport approximately 66,500 pilgrims on 654 flights—including 324 outbound flights to Saudi Arabia and 330 inbound return flights. These flights serve pilgrims from government-sponsored Hajj programs, charitable organizations, tourism operators, private delegations, and transit pilgrims from various countries.
Cairo International Airport has fully prepared for the return air bridge. The Cairo Airport Company, headed by Magdy Ishaq, has implemented a comprehensive plan to ensure the smooth arrival of returning pilgrims. The plan includes streamlined arrival procedures and maintaining the same high service standards provided during their outbound journey.

Plan underway to double funding for youth-led projects in Alexandria: MSMEDA chief

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) has pumped EGP 2.2bn into financing 51,000 projects in Alexandria from July 2014 to May 2025. Bassel Rahmy, CEO of MSMEDA, has stressed the agency's commitment to doubling the available funding for youth in Alexandria in the coming phase. This is part of an ambitious plan carried out in coordination with the governorate and partner entities to expand industrial and productive ventures across the city and create more decent, sustainable job opportunities for local youth. Rahmy's remarks came in celebration of Alexandria's National Day, where he highlighted the agency's focus on widening access to finance for both existing project owners and young entrepreneurs hoping to launch new ventures. He also emphasised MSMEDA's efforts to equip project owners with the technical support they need to ensure long-term stability and growth. He added that the agency will continue prioritising industrial and productive projects, working hand in hand with the Alexandria governorate to provide all necessary financial and technical backing to the city's industrial zones. Moreover, Rahmy explained that MSMEDA's strategic approach in the governorate aims to offer more financial and non-financial incentives and support, as stipulated in Law No. 152/2020 on enterprise development. The goal is to empower Alexandria's youth to fully capitalise on these services, start projects across various sectors, and seize promising investment opportunities in the area. He also noted the advantages provided by Law No. 6/2025, which grants several tax facilitations to project owners. The agency head also pointed to MSMEDA's active role in forging agreements with key partners across Alexandria, including the iconic Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The agency signed a cooperation agreement with the library last year to enhance collaboration and share knowledge and technical expertise, with the aim of advancing common goals—particularly in economic empowerment of women and promoting an entrepreneurial mindset among youth. Rahmy added that MSMEDA succeeded in channelling EGP 2.2bn into Alexandria between July 2014 and May 2025, funding 51,000 projects and generating over 110,000 diverse job opportunities. He also revealed that EGP 102m of this amount was allocated to infrastructure, community development and training projects, creating 718,000 workdays for irregular labourers.

Egypt, Pakistan Boost Ties at UN Gaza Summit

Israa Farhan Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Badr Abdelaty, met today with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on the sidelines of the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Resolution of the Palestinian Issue and Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The two officials discussed ongoing coordination between Egypt and Pakistan, highlighting their aligned positions on major international issues of shared concern. Abdelaty stressed Egypt's commitment to further enhancing bilateral consultations through existing mechanisms, particularly the Joint Ministerial Committee co-chaired by both foreign ministers, and continuing cooperation within multilateral frameworks. Abdelaty also expressed Egypt's hopes that Pakistan, during its current presidency of the UN Security Council, would advocate for pressing regional priorities. Chief among these is the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with an emphasis on ensuring the safe, sustained, and unhindered delivery of aid to the Palestinian people. On the economic front, both sides explored opportunities to expand bilateral trade and investment. Abdelaty invited Pakistan to increase its investments in Egypt, particularly within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and proposed the revival of the Egypt-Pakistan Business Council. He also encouraged Pakistan's private sector to seize promising opportunities in the Egyptian market. The meeting also addressed the enhancement of cooperation in healthcare and pharmaceutical manufacturing, especially in the fight against Hepatitis C, where Egypt has had notable success. In their exchange on regional issues, the ministers reviewed the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza. Abdelaty outlined Egypt's continued mediation efforts, coordinated with Qatar and the United States, to achieve a ceasefire and facilitate humanitarian access. He also announced Egypt's intention to host an International Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction in Gaza once a ceasefire is reached. This conference, to be held in coordination with the United Nations and the Palestinian Authority, aims to mobilize support for the joint Arab-Islamic plan to rebuild the war-torn enclave. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence"
