Edinburgh man who robbed post office with imitation gun jailed
A man who robbed an Edinburgh post office with an imitation gun has been jailed.
John Clark, 20, entered the post office in Milton Road West at around 7.15am on September 24, 2023. He pled guilty at the High Court in Glasgow, and was sentenced on June 27.
Clark will serve four years in prison for the armed robbery. He made threats to members of staff who were working there, and made off with a sum of money.

Detective Constable Chris Stewart said: "This was a terrifying experience for those involved, and Clark will now face the consequences of his actions.
"I hope this outcome provides some reassurance to the victims. We remain committed to thoroughly investigating violent crime and ensuring those responsible are held to account."

The crime group behind the ongoing gangwar plaguing Edinburgh and the west of Scotland has fired a chilling final warning to the copycats passing themselves off as members of their crime syndicate. The threats came in a 15-second video sent to the Daily Record. The clip features white text on a black background and ends with the TMJ logo against a camouflaged backdrop. The video brands the tmjdoesitbest TikTok account a "Fake Page". The account had posted a number of videos in recent days, naming a so-called rival and alleging attacks were imminent. We've never been on TikTok, Instagram or any of these platforms and never will be. "Social media is for snitches as we've seen over the last few months from The Gremlins and their associates. Anyone we find creating any accounts under our name will be targeted. "We will continue our pursuit against The Gremlins regardless of Operation Portaledge for many years to come. This is the final video we will be releasing. "There will never be another video created by TMJ again. Don't steal from us. Don't snitch on us. Don't pretend to be us. Or we will target you relentlessly. TMJ. Accept no imitations." Police Scotland has cracked down on the incidents - which have taken place in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bishopbriggs, and elsewhere in the country - as part of Operation Portaledge. The police operation has seen 50 suspects arrested and a number of individuals arrested, charged and remanded in custody over their alleged crimes. Edinburgh police swoop on residential street as 'emergency incident' unfolds
Police Scotland swarmed a residential street in the Lochend area in the east of Edinburgh on Saturday, June 28. A heavy police presence could be seen on Lochend Avenue from around 8:20pm, with around five police vehicles in attendance. The exact nature of the emergency incident is currently unknown. NOPD: Robber used RTA bus for getaway
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest a man who is accused of committing an armed robbery then leaving the scene in an RTA bus. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice. According to police, the robbery happened around 4:50 a.m. on June 4 in the 4100 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Police also released some security camera images that show the alleged suspect. NOPD looking for robbery suspect who struck at ATM Police said the robber wore all-black clothing and used a gun to rob his victim. Police did not say what was stolen. The security camera footage includes images of the man waiting to get onto the bus after the robbery as well as paying the fare. Police also say a tattoo on the man's right arm could help identify him.
