The Family Man 3 first look out: Manoj Bajpayee returns as Srikant Tiwari. Internet says, ‘Can't wait'
Actor Manoj Bajpayee is back as Srikant Tiwari in The Family Man 3, and the first look of the highly anticipated series was unveiled today, June 24. The poster shows Bajpayee at the centre, surrounded by masked men, hinting at another high-stakes mission for the undercover intelligence officer.
In the hit Amazon Prime Video series, Bajpayee plays a middle-class man balancing family life while secretly working for the Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC), a fictional branch of India's National Investigation Agency.
The makers have not announced the release date yet, but Bajpayee had earlier confirmed in an interview with OTTplay that the series is expected to premiere in November.
This season also features returning cast members, including Shreya Dhanwanthary, Darshan Kumar, Seema Biswas, Dalip Tahil, Sundeep Kishan, Jugal Hansraj, and Gul Panag. However, fans noticed that actor Jaideep Ahlawat—whose involvement was confirmed by Bajpayee earlier this year—was not mentioned in the latest update.
In March, Bajpayee had told OTTplay, 'We cast Jaideep Ahlawat two years ago… To our luck, he is in The Family Man Season 3. This season is massive and very beautiful.'
Fans welcomed the first look with excitement on social media. 'Can't wait to see Srikant Tiwari, JK and Suchi back in action,' one user wrote. Another commented, 'Please release this year fast, I cannot wait any longer.'
The Family Man 3 continues the journey of one of India's most popular streaming franchises, known for blending action, wit and real-world geopolitics with domestic drama.

Dhanush's Kuberaa Underperforms In Tamil Nadu, Director Sekhar Kammula Reacts
Last Updated: Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula, excels at the Telugu box office but underperforms in Tamil Nadu despite Dhanush's lead role. While Kuberaa has been making waves at the Telugu box office, the film's performance in Tamil Nadu hasn't matched expectations even with Dhanush in the lead. Director Sekhar Kammula, who helmed this ambitious bilingual project, has now weighed in on the mixed regional response. 'In Telugu it has been exceptional. Even the overseas Tamil circuit is going well. But the domestic Tamil market, I was expecting lot more, and I hope it would catch up, because the word of mouth is strong but it is not converting into box office," Kammula told OTTplay. Shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, Kuberaa was crafted with a pan-India vision. Yet, the buzz in Tamil Nadu hasn't translated into ticket sales. Kammula remains optimistic, especially given the appreciation for Dhanush's performance as a beggar, a role that, he believes, few actors would dare to take up. 'I was in awe of him and thought it was a moment of pride. So, I thought it would catch on in Tamil and really hope that it happens. It is not common that this kind of stories come up often and people take up such roles. I thought it is a special thing and I have a hope," he added. Kuberaa is a 2025 Indian crime drama directed by Sekhar Kammula, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Chaithanya Pingali. Backed by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations, the film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. The ensemble cast features Dhanush in the lead, alongside Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil. The project was officially announced in June 2021, with principal photography taking place between February and April 2024. The title Kuberaa was revealed in March 2024. The film's technical crew includes Devi Sri Prasad as the music composer, Niketh Bommireddy handling cinematography, editing by Karthika Srinivas, and production design by the acclaimed Thota Tharani. Kuberaa hit theatres worldwide on June 20, 2025. The plot follows four individuals, including a beggar, who are handpicked to serve as benamis in a high-stakes corporate scam. Dhanush plays the role of Deva Kallam. First Published:

How a ₹5 crore indie film with no stars became highest-grossing Indian film overseas, beat hits of Shah Rukh, Aamir Khan
Since the 90s, Shah Rukh Khan has been the flagbearer of Indian cinema overseas. His films, from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and My Name is Khan to Jawan, have all worked well in the US and Europe, with some even eclipsing local releases. Similarly, Aamir Khan has ruled the roost in China. But in 2001, an independent film with no stars and a budget of just ₹ 5 crore managed to outdo the biggest hits of both these stars. The tiny film that beat heavyweights at the box office. In 2000, screenwriter Sabrina Dhawan wrote a screenplay about an Indian family in Delhi during her time in the MFA film program at Columbia University. Director Mira Nair came on board to direct, and the film came to be known as Monsoon Wedding. Produced internationally between companies from India, the United States, Italy, France, and Germany, Monsoon Wedding had a modest budget of $1.2 million ( ₹ 5.5 crore at the time). It starred theatre and TV actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Lillette Dubey, Parvin Dabas, Vijay Raaz, Shefali Shah, Rajat Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Roshan Seth, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Three newcomers were also part of the cast - Vasundhara Das, Randeep Hooda, and Ram Kapoor. The film was not expected to break the bank at the box office, but Monsoon Wedding defied all expectations. Monsoon Wedding had a large ensemble cast but no stars. The film was a success in the North American market, grossing over $13 million there, which stood as the record for an Indian film in the US-Canada for years, before being overtaken by Baahubali in 2017. Monsoon Wedding earned $30.8 million ( ₹ 145 crore) worldwide, with the bulk of it coming from North America and Europe. It became the highest-grossing Indian film overseas, a tag it enjoyed till Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dangal overtook it 15 years later. How Monsoon Wedding beat hits of the Khans Shah Rukh Khan was at the peak of his career in 2001 when Monsoon Wedding was released. That year, he had two releases—Asoka and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Both films were successes overseas, but their combined overseas collection was just $14 million ( ₹ 60 crore), lower than Monsoon Wedding. Even Aamir Khan's Lagaan, which was also released the same year and went to the Oscars, earned just $3 million ( ₹ 13 crore) overseas. Monsoon Wedding is currently available to stream on both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
