Here is a look at the top five movies to watch on the Fourth of July.
5. Saving Private Ryan
There might be nothing more patriotic than taking in the Steven Spielberg Magnum Opus of "Saving Private Ryan." The WWII film follows Tom Hanks as John H. Miller, a captain in the U.S. Army, who must lead his troops on D-Day.
Miller and his platoon not only survive the onslaught in Normandy, but they are tasked with the unthinkable. Miller and his group must save the life of Private James Ryan, whose brothers have been killed in action.
Miller must not go on a suicide mission to save Ryan from the same fate as his brothers.
4. The Patriot
There might not be a more heralded movie that covers America's independence than the 2000 Mel Gibson classic, "The Patriot."
In "The Patriot," Gibson stars as Benjamin Martin, a war veteran from the French and Indian War, who must vote on a levy to support the Continental Army. After the British invade and take over Charleston, Martin must leap into action to save his son, Gabriel, and his entire family.
Colonel William Tavington kills Benjamin's younger son, Thomas, leading to an all-out attack on the invading British. Martin is then pulled into the war, where he leads a militia that eventually overruns Lord Cornwallis' army at Yorktown.

3. Captain America: The First Avenger
One of the earlier entries in the grand Marvel Cinematic Universe is "Captain America: The First Avenger." Starring Chris Evans as the titular hero, Steve Rogers, who undergoes an experimental "super soldier" serum, becoming the world's first Avenger.
In the height of World War II, Johann Schmidt uncovers a weapon called the Tesseract and is keen on unlocking its ungodly powers. America is set on stopping the Nazi regime, and Rogers takes on the mantle of Captain America.
Captain America must now stop Schmidt, who has turned into the Red Skull due to using the super serum, which transformed him.
2. The Sandlot

20th Century Fox
"The Sandlot" was released in 1993, and still remains one of the greatest sports fils ever made, along with being one of the best Fourth of July movies.
"The Sandlot" follows the life of Scott "Scotty" Smalls, as he has moved to Los Angeles with his mother and new stepdad. Smalls runs into a group of friends that play neighborhood baseball, led up by Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez.
Smalls and the group get close, and "The Sandlot" contains one of the greatest Fourth of July moments, as the kids play baseball under the fireworks.
Benny hits a massive home run as the fireworks in the sky explode.
1. Independence Day
While the rest of the films on this list surely make sense, some might be scratching their heads on why a sci-fi film is considered to be one of the greatest Fourth of July films ever made.
It's quite simple, as Bill Pullman's speech as the President of the United States might be one of the greatest speeches in cinematic history.
One might say this speech could have been said by George Washington when the United States of America was fighting Britain for independence.
Pullman stars as President Thomas J. Whitmore, who takes command of an air base and delivers a massive speech to the awaiting fighters that are taking on an alien race that has invaded Earth.
"Independence Day" stars Will Smith as Captain Steven Hiller, Jeff Goldblum as David Levinson, and Bill Pullman as the president. When aliens invade the planet, their lives will become forever intertwined when they band together to protect the planet from sure destruction.

Jessica Simpson shared a mirror selfie on Instagram of herself wearing a tiny red bikini as she celebrated the Fourth of July holiday She accessorized her stylish swimwear look with oversized white sunglasses Simpson's latest selfie comes after she debuted a dirty blonde hair transformation during the season 23 finale of American Idol in MayJessica Simpson put a patriotic spin on her latest swimwear look. As she celebrated the Fourth of July holiday on Friday, the pop star, 44, shared a new mirror selfie on her Instagram Stories, showing off her festive outfit. She sported a tiny red bikini, topped with an olive green, military-inspired short-sleeve shirt, worn unbuttoned. Her accessories included a large pair of white sunglasses and a printed bandana headband. A navy blue baseball cap decorated with the letters "USA" and an American flag emblem could be seen sitting on the bathroom counter. Simpson's selfie was fittingly soundtracked by the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers classic "American Girl." The fashion mogul has been having a little fun with her personal style lately. On May 31, she tried out a goth glam look for a night out to the We Matter x Limitless Mental Health Dinner in Los Angeles. Her ensemble featured a black satin mini slip dress with lingerie-inspired lace trim around the bust. She amped up her look by wearing a black feathered cropped jacket over the dress, along with black sheer stockings and black pointy-toe platform boots. A ring adorned with two large turquoise stones added a pop of bright color to her all-black fashion moment. Simpson also recently shook things up by making a change to her signature blonde hair. While making a special appearance during the season 23 finale of American Idol on May 18, the mom of three debuted freshly dyed dirty blonde hair with sun-kissed highlights. Her longtime hair guru and friend, celebrity colorist Rita Hazan, described Simpson's new shade to PEOPLE as "desert sunset blonde." According to Hazan, Simpson "loved" her new hair color. "She was so happy to get a new look and switch it up," Hazan said. "She always had a super buttery blonde — this time we wanted something new and youthful." "I think it's a fresh and young vibe, but with confidence and a slight attitude to represent her mood," the stylist added. Prior to her American Idol appearance, Simpson told PEOPLE that her "style evolves as I do on a personal level, through each stage of my life." She also said she draws fashion inspiration from nearly anywhere — and is a Pinterest devotee. "Anything from a vintage printed wallpaper in a movie I am watching or a performance piece displayed in an old documentary," Simpson explained. "Everyone who knows me knows I am observant. I never miss a detail. Inspiration comes at me in visceral ways, every single day. And I honestly don't know what I would do without Pinterest." Read the original article on People

Family of Caitlin Clark's Boyfriend Shows Up in Lexie Hull's July 4th Post

Family of Caitlin Clark's Boyfriend Shows Up in Lexie Hull's July 4th Post originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Indiana Fever guards Caitlin Clark and Lexie Hull have developed a close friendship since Clark was drafted first overall by the team in 2024. Advertisement They've posted together on social media, shared laughs at practice and Hull even revealed that she and her fiancé, Will Matthiessen, have had game nights with Clark and her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery. Their friendship extends beyond basketball, and it's clear their families have grown close as well. On Friday night, Hull shared a photo on social media of someone lighting a firework as she celebrated the Fourth of July in Indianapolis. It's unclear who was in the photo or who exactly was there, but with Connor's brother, Patrick McCaffery, tagged in the post and reposting it, it's likely that Clark and the rest of the McCafferys were there with Hull. Patrick McCaffery's Instagram story.@patrickmccaffery22/Instagram Patrick recently wrapped up his college basketball career, spending five seasons at Iowa alongside his brother and one final season at Butler. Connor also made the move from Iowa to Butler, joining the program as an assistant coach. Advertisement With all of them based in Indianapolis, getting together to celebrate the Fourth of July was easy. Having a home game on Saturday helped, too. Clark will miss her fifth straight game, but Hull will be on the floor to take on the Los Angeles Sparks. The Fever have won four of their last five and will look to keep the momentum going. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET on NBA TV.
