Multiple sources in Italy claim that Chelsea's Nkunku is Inter's main alternative to Lookman and according to Calciomercato.com, the Nerazzurri directors have opened preliminary talks with the striker's entourage in recent hours.

Gazzetta confirms Nkunku is Inter's primary option if they fail to secure a deal for Lookman, but even Chelsea are waiting for offers for the French forward, his salary at Stamford Bridge could be an obstacle for Inter, given that Nkunku earns €6.5m, while Lookman has agreed to sign a €4.5m-a-year contract with the Serie A giants.

Therefore, Empoli did not sign Esposito on a permanent basis. The 23-year-old returned to Inter, with whom he travelled to the United States for the Club World Cup. Esposito even started a couple matches for the Nerazzurri at that tournament. However, that hardly changed his fate – he is not a part of Inter's plans. Brazilian defender Juan Jesus has praised Napoli's defensive improvements and revealed how head coach Antonio Conte has instilled a winning attitude into the side.
