It was informed that land has been allocated for 25 football and 25 cricket grounds, along with plans for futsal fields, an indoor cricket facility, and five cricket academies.
The chairman approved a dancing fountain for F-9 Park and instructed the installation of modern lighting and upgraded amenities in all parks. He also directed swift execution of projects such as electric buses, cable cars, and urban forestry, and ordered upgrades to major roads and green belts.
To support sanitation, the meeting approved procurement of advanced machinery.
Chairman Randhawa said CDA is utilising all resources to enhance Islamabad's beauty, livability, and public services.

CDA announces digitalisation of its services
ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday announced digitalisation of its services and adoption of a cashless payment system for property tax, water charges, transfer fees, and other services. According to details, citizens will soon be able to access all CDA services from home through online portals, saving time and resources. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chairman CDA, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and Director General Civil Defence Muhammad Ali Randhawa at CDA Headquarters. Members of the CDA Board participated in the meeting, while Chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Faisal Yousaf, joined along with his team via Zoom. The meeting focused on modernising the CDA One Window Facilitation Centre, introducing digital submission of maps and layout plans, and integrating a cashless online payment system. It was emphasised that these reforms would enhance transparency, ensure efficient service delivery, and significantly reduce public inconvenience. Officials informed the meeting that the CDA has already initiated the computerisation of land records and is transitioning its financial system from manual to digital. These efforts are yielding positive outcomes and are part of the broader shift toward e-governance and good governance. The PITB briefed the CDA on its experience with various IT and digitalisation initiatives in Punjab. It was agreed that PITB's expertise could assist in implementing similar models in Islamabad to improve public access to CDA services. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa reaffirmed the authority's commitment to transforming CDA into a model institution through digital innovation. He stressed simplifying procedures for the public and ensuring the integration of online payments under a cashless system. He also directed the CDA's IT Wing and senior officers to coordinate closely with PITB for joint execution of mutually beneficial projects. The meeting further decided to modernize the monitoring and evaluation mechanism of all CDA formations through a digital dashboard to ensure timely achievement of targets. It was agreed that officials from CDA and PITB will continue consultations through regular Zoom meetings to exchange ideas and finalise actionable recommendations, which will be presented for approval by the CDA Board. Additionally, it was announced that CDA will hold regular follow-up meetings, chaired by its chairman, to review progress on digitalisation and ensure all initiatives reach their logical conclusion. P3A approves crucial infrastructure projects
ISLAMABAD: Board of Directors of the Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) approved several high-impact infrastructure initiatives being undertaken through public-private partnerships. The Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, chaired the 39th meeting of Board of Directors of the Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) in Islamabad on Thursday, during which, he emphasised the importance of utilising private sector investment, innovation, and management skills to overcome financial constraints, accelerate project completion, and improve efficiency in delivering essential infrastructure and services. The board also granted in-principle approval, subject to concurrence from the Finance Division, for the revised commercial structure of the 69 kilometres long Sialkot–Kharian Motorway project. SIFC EC approves Sialkot-Kharian Motorway with revised cost The project, which has been upgraded to a six-lane facility based on directions from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), is strategically positioned to connect Sialkot with central Punjab via the M-12 corridor and is expected to significantly enhance industrial connectivity and mobility in the region. In addition, the board approved the Project Proposal for the Kharian–Rawalpindi Motorway (KRM). The project spans 117.6 kilometres and will be developed as a six-lane green-field motorway under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. With an estimated cost of Rs202.61 billion and proposed Viability Gap Funding of Rs40 billion, the project will be procured through international competitive bidding. This project also forms part of the strategic interventions being prioritised under the SIFC platform. The KRM is anticipated to substantially reduce travel time between north and central Punjab and enhance logistical efficiency for regional trade and passenger traffic. During the meeting, the board considered and approved several high-impact infrastructure initiatives being undertaken through public-private partnerships. These included the hiring of an International Financial Institution (IFI) as transaction advisor for a suite of urban water and sewerage projects in Islamabad under CDA, in accordance with the Direct Contracting Regulations of 2023. The proposal aims to bring in international technical expertise for structuring and implementing technically complex, climate-resilient municipal infrastructure projects. The federal minister addressing the meeting stated, 'Public-private partnerships are a cornerstone of our infrastructure development strategy. By leveraging private capital and expertise, we are not only accelerating the delivery of critical national projects but also ensuring long-term sustainability, transparency, and value for money for the public.' The meeting was attended by board members, including the secretary Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives; Representative of Secretary, Finance Division; private members of the Board; and the Chief Executive Officer of P3A along with his team. Special invitees included Member (PSD&C) and Member (Infrastructure and Regional Connectivity) of the Planning Commission; Chairman, National Highways Authority (NHA); and Chairman, Capital Development Authority (CDA). The P3A reaffirmed its commitment to fast-tracking priority infrastructure projects under the PPP framework, in alignment with Pakistan's broader economic reform and development agenda.
