Police will launch new efforts to find the remains of South Australian man Julian Story, who was allegedly killed by his former reality TV star partner.
Former Beauty and the Geek contestant and model Tamika Chesser has been charged with the murder of Story on June 17, with police alleging she cut off his head.
Officers have so far been unable to recover Story's head, with the wide-scale search for the Port Lincoln man's remains halted earlier this month.
Police today revealed that information received by investigators and the use of specialist equipment had identified several additional search sites in and around Port Lincoln.
'In the days following the [alleged] murder, Major Crime detectives, local police, Water Operations Unit and the SA State Emergency Service conducted extensive searches around Port Lincoln without success,' Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke said.

Australian police searching for a man's decapitated head have identified several key locations of interest near a coastal town. Authorities have been unable to find the entire remains of Julian Story, 39, after his dismembered body was discovered at Port Lincoln in South Australia on June 19. Tamika Sueann Rose Chesser, 34, a former Beauty and the Geek contestant, has been charged with his murder. Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke said information received by the investigation team coupled with the use of specialist equipment has identified several additional search sites around Port Lincoln. "New search areas have been identified and by undertaking these renewed searches, we hope to find Julian's missing remains, which will give comfort to his family and allow them to peacefully lay him to rest," he said in a statement today. ADVERTISEMENT Police searching for Story's head has spanned Port Lincoln reserves, parks, bushland, the ocean, pier and bay areas and involved state emergency service volunteers, water police, divers and local patrols. Previous searches were paused on July 1 as police reviewed CCTV footage to pinpoint the movements of the ex-reality TV star accused of his murder. Police found Story's body after firefighters were called to a Flinders Highway property to investigate reports of a blaze. Chesser, who police said had been in a relationship with Story for several months, was arrested on June 19 after Story's body was found at the couple's home. Northland man charged with injuring police dog, drug-related offences

Marshall James Dennis Joyce was arrested after a traffic stop in Whangārei early on Sunday morning escalated into what police described as a violent assault. The 47-year-old Ruakākā man was charged with assaulting police, injuring a police dog, possession for supply of methamphetamine and cannabis, possession of cocaine and LSD, and unlawful possession of ammunition. He was remanded in custody after Monday's appearance in the Whangārei District Court. He is due back for a list hearing by audio-visual link on 13 August. Police said the dog suffered an eye injury and underwent urgent veterinary treatment. Its current condition is not known. Earlier, Northland's top cop, Superintendent Matt Srhoj, said a police dog handler stopped a car on Kahiwi Street, in the suburb of Raumanga, just before 4.30am on 20 July. The dog handler spotted drug paraphernalia inside the car but the driver became aggressive before a search could be carried out. Srhoj said extra officers were sent to the scene as his aggression escalated, with pepper spray, a taser and the police dog all deployed. As well as methamphetamine, LSD tabs, cannabis and cocaine, police seized more than $5000 in cash. Srhoj said it was fortunate the police officer was not seriously injured, but the dog suffered a scratch to one eye and required urgent treatment. The 47-year-old man sustained minor injuries and was taken to Whangārei Hospital. Srhoj praised the officers who rushed to the scene to support their colleague. "We have no tolerance for unprovoked violence, especially directed to our staff who are just doing their jobs," he said.
