Driver with gunshot wound found in car wreck in Roxburgh Park in Melbourne's north
A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being found in the wreckage of a car in Melbourne's north with a suspected gunshot wound. Police and paramedics were called to Roxburgh Park in Melbourne's north about 7pm on Sunday after a coupe crashed through a park fence and hit a tree near the corner of Donald Cameron Drive and Bridgewater Road. They found the driver with life-threatening injuries. "Along with injuries believed to have been sustained from the crash, the driver had a suspected gunshot wound to the lower body," a Victoria Police spokesperson said. Armed Crime Squad detectives were called to the scene to investigate the incident. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were yet to be determined but police said they believed it was a targeted incident. A crime scene was set up at the crash site.
