ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD) Q Mobility has announced the activation of Mawaqif in several sectors within Abu Dhabi Island, as part of its ongoing efforts to regulate vehicle movement and enhance the efficiency of public parking usage across the emirate.
In this regard, Q Mobility stated that the activation covers Eastern Mangroves, Dolphin Park, and three sectors along Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street - specifically at Al Khaleej Al Arabi Park 1, 2, 4, and 5, as well as Al Qurm Plaza.

Mawaqif will be applied in accordance with the regulations in force across the emirate, starting July 10.The announcement follows the completion of infrastructure works, which included curb painting, installation of directional signage, and distribution of awareness signages to the public. Q Mobility confirmed that this step is part of its broader strategy to enhance the parking experience, provide effective solutions that regulate public parking use, and improve traffic flow.
The company urged all users to adhere to the instructions displayed on signages and to utilise the available digital channels to facilitate the payment process through Darb app.

Representing the Tajik side was Sherali Kabir, Minister of Industry and New Technologies, while Maxat Koshumbayev, Regional Director for Central Asia, signed on behalf of MoU sets out a strategic collaboration aimed at developing Tajikistan's AI ecosystem through innovation, infrastructure, and talent development. It includes plans to pilot AI-powered government and enterprise solutions across priority sectors such as smart cities, energy, and Kabir, Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, said: 'We are excited to engage with Presight on furthering Tajikistan's AI ecosystem. Our nation has pioneered the full supply chain of AI—from green AI compute to frontier synthetic data applications and introduction of AI in the school curriculum. We view Presight as a strategic AI partner for Area AI, our global AI technopark, with plans for joint AI deployments in smart cities, industry and infrastructure.'Commenting on the agreement, Presight's Maxat Koshumbayev said:'Presight is proud to support Tajikistan's national AI strategy leveraging Presight's global expertise through innovation, infrastructure and talent development. RAKBANK posts record profit before tax of Dh1.58 billion for H1 2025, up 26%

21 July 2025 19:24 RAS AL KHAIMAH (ALETIHAD)RAKBANK has reported a record profit before tax of Dh1.58 billion for the first half of 2025, marking a 26% year-on-year increase, driven by robust growth in non-interest income and continued strength in asset bank's total income rose 9.5% to Dh2.68 billion in H1 2025, while total assets expanded 18.1% year-on-year to Dh95 billion. Customer deposits stood at Dh61.1 billion, reflecting a 4.5% rise. The CASA (current and savings account) base grew to Dh40.48 billion, with a CASA ratio of 66%—one of the highest in the profit after tax for the first half reached Dh1.374 billion, up 26.1% from the same period last year. For the second quarter alone, net profit stood at Dh669 million, a 22% increase profit for H1 2025 was Dh1.68 billion, up 7.7% year-on-year, though operating expenses also rose 12.9% due to investments in technology, data, people, and customer experience. The cost-to-income ratio increased slightly to 34.6% from 33.6%.Gross loans and advances grew 17.4% year-on-year to Dh51.38 billion, with wholesale banking loans rising by 33%, in line with the bank's diversification quality continued to improve, with the net impairment charge to average loans ratio reducing sharply to 0.7% from 1.7% a year ago. The impaired loan ratio declined to 1.9% from 2.4%, while provisions to gross loans fell to 5.2% from 6.2%.Return on equity rose to 22.1% from 20.4%, and return on assets improved to 3.1% from 2.9%. The bank maintained a strong capital position with a capital adequacy ratio of 18.8%, up from 18.0% a year earlier. Commenting on the results, Raheel Ahmed, CEO of RAKBANK, said: 'We are pleased to deliver a record first-half profit driven by continued income momentum, robust asset growth, and sustained credit quality improvements. This is further demonstrated by the entry of new companies into the national labour market, marking a 33% growth in the total number of establishments over the past year, enabled by the UAE's pioneering and sustainable development model and ongoing efforts to promote a world-class business the Ministry applauded private-sector companies targeted by Emiratisation policies for their cooperation with regulations and decisions, which indicates their awareness of their responsibilities in that regard, and their role in supporting the UAE's strategic economic plans and sustainability-driven vision to strengthen Emirati talents' contribution to the national economy. This, in turn, boosts labour market competitiveness by driving sustainability, efficiency, and flexibility, spearheaded by a strong national labour asserted its commitment to preserving the progress achieved in the Emiratisation mandate, through sustained partnership with the private sector. The Ministry will continue to offer incentives to companies that comply with Emiratisation targets, including the privileges provided by the Nafis programme with its variety of initiatives and citizens are currently employed across six main economic sectors, namely business services, financial intermediation, trade, repair services, construction, and manufacturing, among others.
