Samsung's groundbreaking tri-fold phone will cost a fortune and pack 'top-of-the-line' specs
Yes, we have some encouraging information to discuss here as well, starting with the massive 10-inch or so screen expected to be integrated by the "Galaxy G Fold" (which may or may not be the final marketing name of Samsung's rookie tri-fold effort).
The Galaxy G Fold will offer a lot more screen real estate than the Z Fold 6, but probably not enough to justify its price tag. | Image Credit -- PhoneArena While it's certainly not surprising to hear that this bad boy will probably expand on the main 7.6-inch display size of last year's Galaxy Z Fold 6 and this year's all but guaranteed 8.2-inch Z Fold 7 primary screen diagonal, I'm definitely excited to see a gargantuan tablet-grade panel with a double-folding mechanism taking on the 10.2-inch Huawei Mate XT.
The Galaxy G Fold, remember, is rumored to fold twice inwards rather than one time on the inside and one time on the outside like Huawei's pioneering tri-fold device, which means that Samsung's contender will also need a separate cover screen... that's almost completely shrouded in mystery for now. What's no longer a secret is the G Fold's state-of-the-art Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. That's also not a big surprise, but it essentially guarantees this powerhouse a spot next to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 on the 2025 list of the best Android phones in the world in terms of raw speed.
Yes, I'm afraid Samsung's first tri-fold smartphone is still only expected to be released in South Korea and China, and what's worse is that the groundbreaking handset's price point in its manufacturer's homeland could exceed 4 million won.

That's about as bad as it sounds, equating to almost $3,000 right now, and in case you're wondering, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a lot cheaper in Korea, starting at the rough equivalent of $1,500. Will the Galaxy G Fold be twice as good as Samsung's "normal" book-style foldables? I highly doubt that, especially with a battery capacity below the aforementioned Huawei Mate XT. The exact number is not yet etched in stone, but there's a real possibility that it won't even break the 5,000mAh barrier, which would be... pretty terrible for a device with a primary screen size of "about" 10 inches and a secondary display likely to sit around the 6.5-inch mark.
Even in China and South Korea, you may have to wait until the year's final quarter to be able to order Samsung's first tri-fold device in exchange for a small fortune. That means the (limited) commercial release could take place at any time between October and December, which really makes you wonder what the point of next week's announcement will be. Is Samsung merely trying to distract from the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7's obvious flaws by suggesting something bigger and more innovative is around the corner? That's definitely possible, but with only an "extremely limited" production volume expected for this year, that also sounds like... a bit of a scam, doesn't it? Weekly poll: Nothing Phone (3), the good, the bad or the ugly?
Peter, 06 July 2025 After releasing the Nothing Phone (2) in 2023, Nothing took a year off from premium phones – but it promised a proper flagship for 2025. And, uh, here it is. The Nothing Phone (3) quickly became the talk of the town and not in a good way. Where should we start? The design is one of the more controversial aspects of the phone and it's hard to ignore. Nothing has built a reputation for out-of-the-box designs and the brand's style is instantly recognizable. However, this latest model – remember, it was two years in the making! – caused an avalanche of negative reactions. And that may not be the worst of it – let's look at the prices next. Nothing Phone (3) 12/256GB 16/512GB US $800 $900 UK £800 £900 EU €800 €900 India ₹80,000 ₹90,000 For context, a 12/256GB OnePlus 13 is $900/£900/€1,000/₹70,000 without any discounts. No, you're not reading it wrong, the OnePlus flagship has a lower MSRP in India than the Nothing phone. The Nothing Phone (3) has a non-LTPO 6.67' 120Hz OLED display and a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 instead of Elite. The triple 50MP camera has a large 1/1.3' main sensor, but the 3x periscope has a smaller sensor than the Phone (3a) Pro (1/2.75' vs. 1/1.95'). The battery is 5,150mAh in most of the world and 5,500mAh in India – in either case you are looking at 65W wired and 15W wireless charging. The dust and water resistance is the best of any Nothing phone so far but it's still only IP68. Those are not exactly flagship specs, are they? So far, Nothing phones have been better value for money than much of the competition, but the same can't be said of the Phone (3). How much does that dot matrix display on the back cost, anyway? The phone will receive 5 OS updates and 7 years of security patches. Nothing OS 4.0/Android 16 is coming 'later this autumn'. Check out our hands-on to learn more about the Nothing Phone (3). What do you think – will you buy the Nothing Phone (3) or are you looking at other models?

Latest report sheds light on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra's telephoto camera
Sagar, 05 July 2025 A few days ago, we heard that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a 200MP primary camera. Now, a new report by the same source, GalaxyClub, sheds light on the Galaxy S26 Ultra's telephoto unit. The Dutch publication claims that one of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra's telephoto cameras will have a 50MP resolution. It will be a periscope telephoto unit offering 5x optical zoom. Well, that's the same camera Samsung used in last year's Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra The second telephoto camera on the Galaxy S25 Ultra had a 10MP resolution and 3x optical zoom; however, rumors suggested that the S26 Ultra's second telephoto camera would use a 200MP sensor. We'll have to wait for multiple reliable sources to corroborate that to be sure. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra 256GB 12GB RAM $ 945.00 $ 945.00 512GB 12GB RAM $ 997.50 Circling back to the Galaxy S26 Ultra's primary camera, some rumors claimed it would have a variable aperture. The Galaxy S26 series is expected to arrive in January 2026, so we'll hopefully have more clarity about the Ultra model's cameras in the coming months. Source (in Dutch)

Here are the latest rumored battery specs and IP ratings for 2025 Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 models
We've got some big-name phones coming to the U.S. marketplace over the next three months. Let's start with the foldable trio made up of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Believe it or not, next Wednesday, July 9th, Samsung will unveil the latest iteration of its foldable models. As we told you the other day, reliable leaker Steve says that pre-orders will begin on the same day at 3 PM EDT. The phones will supposedly ship starting on July 25th. According to a new report, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the lower priced Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (Fan Edition) will carry Ingress Protection ratings of IP 48. That matches the IP rating of last year's Galaxy Z Flip 6 and indicates that as a clamshell foldable, Samsung has not been able to make the device impervious to dust. The report says to also expect an IP48 Ingress P rotection rating for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 which is the same exact IP rating that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 had. So all three of Sammy's new foldables will carry IP48 ratings. What does this mean? I'll tell you. The IP 48 rating is broken down to two different components. The "4" is for dust ingress and means that the phones are protected against solid objects larger than 1mm like larger particles but not fine dust. The "8" for water protection allows the Galaxy Z Flip 7 , Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE and Galaxy Z Fold 7 can be submerged in fresh water to a depth of 1.5 meters (nearly 5 feet) for no longer than 30 minutes and emerge unscathed. The rated battery capacity for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 , according to a tweet from the aforementioned Steve will be 4272 mAh. That will match last year's model and will provide a maximum 40 hours and 28 minutes between charges. Leaker says that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have a rated battery capacity of 4174 mAh and supply juice for a maximum of 42 hours and 4 minutes. The Galaxy Z Flip FE will feature a rated battery capacity of 3,887 mAh with maximum time between charges of 37 hours. The Galaxy Z Flip 3,4,5, and 6 were the top selling foldable models over the last four years. This year, the clamshell has competition from the beefed up Razr Ultra from Motorola. After Samsung releases its new foldables, Google is expected to release the Pixel 10 line on August 28th. The following month, we should see the launch of the iPhone 17 series including the new ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air. Secure your connection now at a bargain price!
