Report: Backstage Reaction To Mr. Iguana's Appearance At WWE Worlds Collide
AAA star Mr. Iguana took the world by storm on Saturday at WWE Worlds Collide.
In the opening contest of WWE Worlds Collide, Mr. Iguana teamed up with Octagón Jr. and Aero Star to defeat Lince Dorado, Dragon Lee, and Cruz Del Toro. However, the match itself wasn't the story. His reaction from the WWE Universe was, and it caught the attention of those backstage.

According to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), Iguana's reaction didn't go unnoticed by those backstage. The decision was quickly made to bring him to the Intuit Dome later that night for Money in the Bank.
Mr. Iguana got another huge response from the WWE Universe as he sat in the crowd for the Money in the Bank premium live event. A source within NXT informed Sapp that they would be pushing for him to appear on Tuesday nights in the future.
Iguana also impressed higher-ups at WWE, informing Sapp that he was a pleasure to deal with.
It's worth noting that in addition to his reaction, his t-shirt on WWEShop reportedly sold very well too. The company is already making plans to potentially produce iguana puppets.

Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill earn title shots at SummerSlam as they're crowned King and Queen of the Ring
The finals of the King and the Queen of the Ring tournaments came to an end on Saturday at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, and it came with major stakes attached. Cody Rhodes defeated Randy Orton on the men's side, and Jade Cargill defeated Asuka in the women's bracket. "The American Nightmare" pushed Orton into the exposed turnbuckle and put him into the Cross Rhodes. He pinned Orton for the win and was given the crown. "I am well aware. I hear each and every one of you. This is an arduous path. First, Jey Uso, the most beloved character in all of WWE. Then, the modern locker room later, the man, Randy Orton. And at SummerSlam, that means I'm facing either CM Punk or John Cena," Rhodes said. "And I completely get how you feel as an audience when I go up against these beloved characters, but I want you to hear it from me — I was born to do this. Whenther it be CM Punk or John Cena, they are holding onto that belt for themselves, and they are holding onto it for me, because at SummerSlam I get the ball back." Asuka nearly had the storm that Cargill brought to Riyadh tamed. She had Cargill in a submission hold, but Cargill was able to get out of it and break free. Cargill interrupted Asuka's "Empress Impact" and hit her with "Jaded." "When I first entered this tournament, it felt like the world was on my shoulders. But, you know, for the people out there who are doubting themselves, praise yourself because you are fighting through the boos. Don't let them tell you who you are — you show them," she said after the match. "And the grind don't' stop. A storm is coming for SummerSlam." Rhodes and Cargill both have world title shots at SummerSlam guaranteed with their King and Queen of the Ring tournament wins. Rhodes is likely to go up against John Cena in rematch of WrestleMania 41 for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Cena defeated CM Punk to retain the title early in the night. Both Cena and Punk thwarted Seth Rollins' cash-in attempt. But Rollins got the last laugh when he stomped Punk, screwing him out of a title. Cargill will either target Tiffany Stratton or Iyo Sky for their women's titles. Stratton hung on to her belt on "Friday Night SmackDown" in a win against Nia Jax in a Last Woman Standing Match. Sky regained gold in March with a win over Rhea Ripley. All women will also have to have Naomi in the back of their minds as she won the women's Money in the Bank ladder match. There are still two major events before the WWE gets to SummerSlam in August. The all-female premium live event Evolution 2 will take place on July 11, and Saturday Night's Main Event will take place on July 12. Kittle To Let Wife And WWE Guide His Retirement Plan from 49ers
Kittle To Let Wife And WWE Guide His Retirement Plan from 49ers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. George Kittle is arguably the top all-around tight ends in the NFL, with some San Francisco 49ers numbers that prove it. Advertisement In 2024, he finished with 78 catches for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns despite a major down year for the team. ... and at age 31, the Kittle arrow remains pointing up. But when that's done? He has a retirement plan ... to move into a different "sport.'' Kittle's status as one of the most productive offensive players in the league is what helped him earn a four-year $76.4 million deal this offseason ... making him the highest-paid tight end in NFL history. But as he revealed on the "Bussin with the Boys" podcast, the length of that extension may be the final window of his career in the NFL. 'I don't know, I think if I get to 35 and it hurts to put pants on in the morning, I think I'll be like, 'Ah, this isn't that much fun anymore,' and I'll have a conversation with myself. But I'm feeling great right now.' Advertisement But when he doesn't feel great about getting beaten up in the NFL ... He's thinking of throwing his hat into the ring ... in the ring of WWE. 'I haven't daydreamed about it or anything like that, but I'm definitely aware that there are potential opportunities and doors that could be open.... I would love to do WWE. I think there's definitely opportunity within that world.'' Yes, George is a fan of pro wrestling. And he is a character in his own right, so it is easy to envision the jump ... 'My only question mark with that is I so much love being a fan of WWE. I would only do WWE if I bought a ring and practiced my ass off for a long time so I wouldn't look like an idiot out there,'' he said. "I've been in a WWE ring like three times. I don't know what I'm doing out there. I have an understanding of how it works ..." Advertisement WWE stardom would be quite the retirement plan for Kittle. Kittle often makes appearances at notable WWE events, so the transition from fan to wrestler would be quite the site, even if for occasional contests. Oh, and yes, his wife Claire will get a vote here. 'Literally, (I'll play) until I don't have fun anymore,' Kittle said. 'Or if Claire looks at me and goes, 'You kinda look like (expletive) out there, you should retire. I'll be like, 'All right.' Jake Paul faces unusual call out from former boxing champion
The former boxing champion known as Butterbean announced on Sunday he was back for "one more fight" as part of a campaign with Lucky Energy, and he called out Jake Paul. Butterbean, whose real name is Eric Esch, is 58 years old, but that didn't appear to be a problem in the ad he was in. The clip showed the former boxer get up from his wheelchair to call out Paul. "There's only one fighter out there who wants to fight retired bald guys. Jake Paul, I'm coming for you," he said in the commercial posted to Instagram. "… I want to fight Jake Paul because he runs his damn mouth too much." The commercial also took a shot at the Paul brothers' energy drink, Prime, which is a major sponsor in WWE as Logan Paul competes as a wrestler there. Butterbean, 58, was the IBA world super heavyweight champion during his career and won the Elite-1 MMA super heavyweight championship when he tried his hand at mixed martial arts. He was 77-10 as a boxer and 17-10 as an MMA fighter. After he hung up the gloves, Butterbean dealt with chronic pain that hampered his mobility and put him in a wheelchair for about nine years. He worked with WWE legend "Diamond" Dallas Page's yoga program to regain his ability to stand up and walk. Paul has taken the boxing world by storm since he began his foray into the sport. He defeated Julio Cesar Chavez via unanimous decision. It was his first bout since the spectacle with Mike Tyson.
