Disturbing fake AI video of Pahang Sultan raises concern on identity theft
This is best demonstrated by a recent video where AI generated a very convincing video of the Sultan of Pahang. The alarming video showed the Sultan stating that Malaysians who have debt can have it settled by Datuk Abdul Majid.
The AI generated figure said he trusted Majid and added that people should follow, comment and send WhatsApp messages to this poor Datuk Abdul Majid, whoever he is.

According to Istana Pahang, via the official Facebook account of the Pahang Royal Household, clarified that the video circulated through several TikTok accounts is false and constitutes a misuse of Al-Sultan Abdullah's image for fraudulent purposes and to deceive the public.
'The public is advised not to share the video, not to believe any links or information contained within it, and to report any suspicious content to the authorities immediately,' said the statement.

The MDAG-AI grant is specifically designed to support Malaysian digital companies in the commercialisation of AI solutions. It targets high-impact projects that correspond with the national AI investment strategy, focusing on companies with capabilities across the foundational, enabling, and application layers of AI. This initiative builds upon the momentum generated by prior programmes, concentrating on AI product commercialisation, cross-sector AI application, talent development and knowledge transfer. It is strategically aligned with the National AI Roadmap, reinforcing Eligible companies may apply for funding of up to 70% of total project costs, capped at RM2 million, for projects spanning a duration of up to one year. Free digital courses for Malaysians under Rakyat Digital initiative
PUTRAJAYA: The Rakyat Digital initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Digital and MyDIGITAL Corporation, is rolling out free online courses to strengthen digital literacy among Malaysians. Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo highlighted this as a key step in Malaysia's push to become a digitally advanced nation, aligning with economic growth and global competitiveness goals. 'Following the success of the AI untuk Rakyat programme, which saw over a million participants in six months, we are expanding with more free courses under Rakyat Digital,' Gobind said. The initiative now includes CyberSAFE untuk Rakyat, Generative AI, Cloud untuk Rakyat, AI Fluency, and Blockchain untuk Rakyat. New courses like Data untuk Rakyat and Quantum untuk Rakyat will soon be introduced to further enhance public digital knowledge.
