Texas A&M's last two basketball transfer additions have made their way to College Station
We can now check both players off said list, as Agee recently made his way to campus and reportedly completed his first practice alongside Domínguez. At the same time, Federiko is the latest arrival and will begin workouts this week. This is significant news for a roster that needs to develop chemistry this summer to be ready for the 2025 season, which is a little over three months away.
With the news that transfer guard Pop Isaacs has been cleared for non-contact work this week, the roster is truly coming together. Being in the same space not only allows for gaining a rhythm on the court but also for building bonds in the locker room that will pay dividends early in the season.
While Isaccs and Indiana transfer forward Mackenzie Mgbako look like the potential scoring leaders this coming season, Federiko could earn the starting center role to provide elite rebounding/paint defense coupled with a high field goal percentage, paired with Agee's likely rotational role as another scoring option off the bench after shooting 55% from the field and nearly 40% from 3-point range with the Trojans last season.

Nebraska has big success on the June recruiting trail
Biggest recruiting winners in June📈(via @adamgorney)Read: Nebraska football was named one of the big winners of June recruiting in a recent list compiled by Adam Gorney. The Huskers landed eight commitments in June alone, including headliners in four-star corner Danny Odem and four-star offensive tackle Claude Mpouma. This marked what was a busy month for the program, as they head into the month of July on a hot streak. Alabama, BYU, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Texas, and Texas A&M were also on the list as the season inches closer. The 2026 Nebraska football recruiting class ranks No. 15 in the conference with 12 total commitments per Rivals rankings. It remains to be seen if the Huskers will add to this class, as several decisions still have to be made. With that being said, there is no denying that the program was able to get things done in June and set themselves up nicely for the future in the process. Notre Dame could land Kaydon Finley, Devin Fitzgerald and Brayden Robinson this weekend
This weekend could be very prosperous for Notre Dame football, as three of its top targets have set their commitment dates on back-to-back-to-back days. Let's take a look at who is making their college choice along with the Irish's chances, starting with the first announcement on July 4th. Texas wide receiver Kaydon Finley will make his pick between Texas, Texas A&M and the Irish. He's one of the top prospects in the country, ranking as the No. 110 player according to the 247Sports Composite. This recruitment looks very promising for Notre Dame, as there are three crystal ball picks on 247Sports favoring the Irish. The next scheduled player to commit is another receiver in Arizona's Devin Fitzgerald on July 5th. The son of NFL legend Larry will pick one of four teams: Stanford, Clemson, UCLA or Notre Dame. At 6-foot, 2-inches and 205-pounds, the younger Fitzgerald is ranked as the No. 488 prospect by 247Sports. They also like the Irish's chances, but not quite as confident with just one crystal ball pick for the Blue and Gold. Lastly, Brayden Robinson, another receiver, will make his pick on July 6th. The Irish are battling Miami and Arizona for the nation's No. 340 prospect in the 247Sports rankings. Like Fitzgerald, there is just one crystal ball and while it does favor Notre Dame, it's not all that encouraging. It's hard to imagine that the Irish land all three, and while that is a possibility, they already have two other receivers committed in the 2026 class. Finley and Fitzgerald are at the top of my 'want' list, but that's just personal preference. It very well could be a big Fourth of July weekend for Notre Dame.

Liverpool's Portuguese forward Diogo Jota dies in car crash in Spain
MADRID, July 3 (Reuters) - Liverpool's Portuguese forward Diogo Jota, 28, died in a car crash near Zamora in northwestern Spain with his brother, the Portuguese Football Federation said on Thursday. The regional fire department of Castile and Leon, where Zamora is located, said on its website a car crashed early on Thursday, shortly after midnight, and burst into flames, with two men, aged 28 and 26, found dead. "We have lost two champions. Their deaths represent irreparable losses for Portuguese football, and we will do everything we can to honour their legacy every day," the Portuguese Football Federation said in a statement. Spanish police told Reuters they could not yet officially confirm the names of the deceased, but everything pointed to it being Jota and his brother. The Lamborghini they were travelling veered off the road, the spokesperson said. The bodies have been taken to a forensics unit in nearby Zamora where autopsies will be performed, they said. Jota, who got married on June 28, helped Liverpool win the Premier League last season and also won the FA Cup and League Cup with the Merseyside outfit. Jota arrived at Anfield from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020 and scored 65 goals in 182 appearances for the club in all competitions. He also made 49 appearances for Portugal, twice winning the UEFA Nations League. (Reporting by Inti Landauro and Emma Pinedo; writing by Charlie Devereux, editing by Alexandra Hudson)
