Rubrik And Rackspace Partner For Enhance Cloud Cyber Resilience

Rubrik and Rackspace Technology have announced Rackspace Cyber Recovery Service – a new managed service for customers operating in public cloud. By combining Rubrik's orchestrated data protection and cyber recovery solutions with Rackspace's DevOps principles and managed services, enterprises can simplify and accelerate recovery from ransomware attacks.
Automated workflows deliver clean data and workloads through immutable backups, zero-trust architecture and Infrastructure as Code. With Rackspace Cyber Recovery Service, critical business workloads running in public clouds can be restored in hours, helping enterprises significantly strengthen their cyber resilience.
Why does this matter?
Organizations running key workloads in public clouds face growing challenges when responding to cyber attacks – from limited visibility and inconsistent backup policies to slow recovery times and lack of automation to rebuild at scale. At the same time, IT leaders are grappling with increasingly complex and distributed cloud environments, making it difficult to maintain consistency, ensure visibility and execute reliable recovery. Recently, Rubrik Zero Labs revealed that 90% of global IT and security executives reported cyber attacks in the last year. In the event of major disruptions – such as ransomware attacks – many enterprises struggle to restore critical workloads quickly due to fragmented tooling, manual processes, untrusted data and inadequate automation.
'Enterprises can no longer rely on traditional recovery methods in a cloud-first, threat-intensified world,' said DK Sinha, President for Public Cloud at Rackspace Technology. 'To ensure recoverability in the public cloud, they must adopt a new approach that leverages cloud native tools, modern DevOps methodologies and trusted expertise. Through our partnership with Rubrik, Rackspace Cyber Recovery Service sets a new standard for cyber resilience of public cloud workloads.'
Rackspace Cyber Recovery Service Extends Fast and Confident Cyber Resilience to Public Cloud
Rackspace Cyber Recovery Service applies Infrastructure as Code and platform engineering principles to cyber recovery, enabling restoration of critical workloads across multi-cloud environments. The journey begins with a professional services-led transformation, where Rackspace experts modernize recovery architectures and codify resilient workflows tailored to each environment. These capabilities are then transitioned into a 'Day 2' fully managed service, ensuring continuous validation, optimization and operational readiness. By orchestrating Recovery as Code, the solution delivers rapid, repeatable and auditable workflows aligned with modern DevOps practices. Paired with Rubrik's immutable architecture and AI-driven threat detection and containment, it ensures clean data recovery into secure landing zones with minimal operational disruption.
'Amidst the evolving complexities of multiple cloud environments, proactive cyber resilience is not a luxury but a necessity. Together, Rackspace and Rubrik offer a differentiated, engineering-led approach to cyber resilience,' said Ghazal Asif, Vice President of Global Channels and Alliances at Rubrik. 'Specifically designed for complex, distributed cloud environments, our companies are at the forefront of safeguarding organizations against the rising tide of ransomware attacks in the realm of cloud and SaaS platforms.'

Rubrik Acquires Predibase To Accelerate Agentic AI Adoption

Cybersecurity company Rubrik has announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Predibase to accelerate agentic AI adoption from pilot to production at scale. Together, Predibase and Rubrik will deliver radical simplicity in models and data, resulting in improved accuracy, lower costs, better performance, and automated data governance. Venture firms Greylock and Felicis led funding of Predibase to date; terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Completion of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. Founded by AI technologists from Google and Uber, Predibase offers a fast way to fine-tune open source models into highly accurate, production-ready solutions. The Predibase platform combines a proprietary post-training stack for customizing models with a highly optimized inference engine. The platform includes a turbo serving engine for over 2x performance gains, along with LoRA eXchange, an open source system for deploying personalized models at scale. With Predibase, teams can support different users, use cases, and departments without ballooning infrastructure costs. 'We created Predibase to lift the barriers between an idea and production-ready AI. Today, many organizations still face challenges moving beyond the proof-of-concept stage,' said Devvret Rishi, Co-Founder and CEO of Predibase. 'Predibase removes the hardest part of that journey and accelerates production-ready AI by giving teams an easy-to-use platform to tune models to their own data and run on an optimized inference stack. This unlocks more accurate results and faster models, all at lower cost.' Overcome the Proof of Concept Wall Gartner found on average that more than half of AI projects never make it into production and it takes eight months to go from AI prototype to production. Common hurdles include the risks in accessing valuable data, limitations in model accuracy and quality, high infrastructure costs, and a lack of data governance. These challenges lead to extended time to realize a clear return on investment. Predibase delivers better performance, up to 80% cost savings, and reduced AI infrastructure complexity over hosting foundation models. A Powerful Combination for Secure, Scalable AI 'What the Predibase team has achieved with model training and serving infrastructure in the last few years is nothing short of remarkable. AI engineers and developers across the industry trust their expertise,' said Bipul Sinha, CEO, Chairman and Co-Founder of Rubrik. 'Together, Rubrik and Predibase will drive agentic AI adoption around the world and unlock immediate value for our customers.' Integrating Predibase will expand the work to secure and deploy GenAI applications that Rubrik is doing today with Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and Google Agentspace. Organizations globally rely on Rubrik to tackle complex challenges including accessing the right data, managing security, and optimizing for cost and performance. The combination of Predibase and Rubrik will bring optimized, fine-tuned, cost-effective models with governed data to help customers securely deploy agentic AI. Bipul Sinha discussed the acquisition in a blog post here.

In addition to the exponential growth of domestic fintech and other start-ups in the IT sector, many big foreign technology companies have also relocated their operations to the UAE or opened regional branches here. Moreover, many crypto firms have also opened offices in the UAE, creating job opportunities for local companies. 'The technology recruitment market in the UAE remains dynamic, with consistent opportunities at the mid-market level and exciting prospects for professionals driving technology transformations. While hiring at the senior executive level has slowed slightly One of the key drivers of this demand is the enterprise application transformation programmes undertaken by public and private organisations. "As a result, there's a surge in demand for ERP consultants, project managers, and business analysts to ensure the seamless delivery of these programmes,' Michael Page said. 'Additionally, there is a growing need for specialists in other enterprise applications, such as CRM, SCM, and HCM systems, reflecting the diverse technological advancements within the region.' According to Michael Page, public sector projects remain a significant source of hiring activity, driving demand for enterprise architects, cloud engineers, and application development specialists. 'The UAE continues to attract international professionals, as its growing tech ecosystem, high standard of living, and innovative public-sector initiatives make it a preferred destination for global talent. This inflow of skilled individuals is further bolstered by the region's focus on technology as a cornerstone of economic development,' it added.
