Kylie Jenner's post about Greek island restaurant goes viral - and not in a good way
Shortly after the 27-year-old realitystar dined at Tassia Restaurant in the Greek village of Fiscardo on July 12, owners Polychronis Dendrinos and Tassia Dendrinou proudly posted about the 'true honor' of hosting the 'iconic entrepreneur and global trendsetter.'
'An inspiring guest, and one of the most influential women of her generation,' the Dendrinos Family wrote on Instagram. 'She experienced a tasted of our Greek hospitality and cuisine. It was a true pleasure to host such a remarkable guest. We hope to welcome her again soon!'
The Kardashians producer and star — who turns 28 next month — also shared a snap of herself and BFF Anastasia Karanikolaou eating by the harbor while patronizing the 53-year-old eatery, which is located on the Ionian isle of Kefalonia.
The restaurant boasts that all of the traditional home-cooked dishes at Tassia are sourced from local producers, with most of the vegetables come from their own garden.
But instead of receiving a bump in interest thanks to their recent celebrity guest, the owners quickly received intense backlash for publicly thanking Kylie, with Instagram one Instagram user commenting: 'Honour? Why different from any other guest?'

'Honor?!' Instagram user @mangia_cake777 wrote. 'Did she find cure for cancer or what?!'
Instagram user @porc.coporcco commented: 'Honor LOL... as if she were an important figure for humanity.'
'Honour? For what? For [being] plastic [and lying] about it and [making] young girls insecure about [themselves]? Ohh noooo!' Instagram user @moeselik scoffed.
'A simple - Thanks for visiting Kylie Jenner would have been enough,' Instagram user @angieduran70 commented. 'An honor why? [Shaking my head].'
Instagram user @dubai_i077 wrote: 'Relax brother for what a honor? I don't understand [unless it's] a president or prime minister or a doctor. [It's] just a girl with big a** and many boyfriends.'
'That's not a flex,' Instagram user @youdontknowme_zx agreed.
Instagram user @anthu_ck commented: 'Thanks! Now I know where NOT to go.'
'Boycott,' Instagram user @easyjourneytips declared.
The Jenner post went so viral some rushed to the comments to defend the family-owned restaurant with Instagram user @iamsophielauren writing: 'People who are getting mad at this need to touch grass.'
'People are just so jealous,' Instagram user @myarchive.lib agreed.
'This comment section is so negative. If I had Kylie come visit my restaurant I would post about it too.'
The last celebrity to grace Tassia was retired NBA star Magic Johnson on June 27, whom the owners described as a 'returning guest with legendary energy.'
In 2022, Oscar-nominated actress Demi Moore stopped by and they remarked that 'her timeless beauty and solid personality was bright enough to capture our hearts.'
Tassia previously hosted honorary Oscar winner Samuel L. Jackson, Queen Camilla's son Tom Parker Bowles, Diesel founder Renzo Rosso, and disgraced former New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez.
The Miu Miu muse - who opted for a white-ruffled and ruched halter dress - has been vacationing in Europe since attending the ostentatious $56M wedding of Amazon executive chairman Jeff Bezos and his mistress Lauren Sánchez on June 27.
While in Kefalonia, Kylie and her gal pal Anastasia - who is of Greek descent - sipped on cocktails while cruising in a yacht.

Jenner originally met the 28-year-old Better Half podcaster at a Barnes & Noble in Calabasas in 2010 while they were both middle schoolers.
In 2019, the Khy x Frankies Bikinis collaborator and Karanikolaou got matching 'Stormi' tattoos in honor of her seven-year-old daughter with disgraced AstroWorld founder, Travis Scott.
Kylie also mothered three-year-old son Aire Webster during her on/off five-year relationship with the 34-year-old rapper (born Jacques Webster), which ended in 2022.
Missing from Jenner's side was her boyfriend of two years, Timothée Chalamet, who's set to reprise his role as Emperor Paul 'Muad'Dib' Atreides in Denis Villeneuve's three-quel Dune: Messiah this month.
The big-screen adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1969 sci-fi space opera novel is already scheduled to hit US theaters December 18, 2026.
Dune: Part One earned rave reviews and $410.6M at the global box office in 2021 despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dune: Part Two was also well regarded by critics and amassed $714.6M at the global box office last year.
The Kylie Cosmetics founder and the 29-year-old movie star made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 70th annual David di Donatello Awards in Rome on May 7.

Chalamet previously romanced his The King leading lady Lily-Rose Depp, Extrapolations actress Eiza González, and Madonna's eldest daughter Lourdes Leon.
Before Travis and Timothée, Jenner was notoriously only 16 when she began dating Grammy-nominated rapper Tyga in 2014, but they ended their romance just three years later.

Check out the viral pics the stars DID NOT want you to see - and wish could be erased from the Internet forever
One of the downsides to living in the spotlight as a celebrity is that your every move can be seen 24 hours a day. However, even moments of downtime were still fair play for photographers and fans to capture and share with the world - even when the stars were not looking their best. That's been the case for a plethora of famous faces, including Ben Affleck and Beyonce, who risked being turned into a meme for a seemingly innocent move - but who else had been affected and wished for the evidence to be eternally scrubbed? SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO KIM KARDASHIAN Kim Kardashian was mortified after what she viewed as 'unflattering' photos of her butt emerged in 2017. A sunshine break on the Mexican coast turned into a holiday from hell for the star when she expressed her shock over the images. The pic showed her in black thong bikini bottoms and a tie-front vest. The mom-of-four was less than impressed with the subsequent images and reacted to the shot on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Kim said: 'Oh my god! I don't get it. I literally don't look like this. I need to untag myself in everything. I'm literally going to go inside and just start untagging.' ARIANA GRANDE She's been accused of appropriating black culture with her music and image in the past, and Ariana Grande inadvertently sparked another debate in 2021 when she shared a series of promo pics on social media. The controversy being that she was said to have been 'Asian fishing' - a term used to describe someone of non-Asian descent who attempted to adopt an Asian aesthetic. The star's otherwise innocent photos gained attention for all the wrong reasons when fans noted her unusually straight brows, thin-winged eyeliner, no-eyelid make-up, and notably lighter shade of foundation. Even the demure pose she adopted for the shoot came under fire, Ariana was criticized on social media for 'promoting stereotypes' and 'fetishizing' Asian culture. Subsequently, the images were swiftly removed from her Instagram account - but the Internet never forgets. BEN AFFLECK Seen as a reluctant celebrity, images of Ben Affleck's been turned into a meme more times than he would probably care to remember. It's been years since he was forced to respond to his viral notoriety following a grim-faced appearance at the 2023 Grammy Awards with then-wife Jennifer Lopez. However, that wasn't the actor's first time his image had gone viral. In 2016, cameras caught Ben looking rather dejected as he paused for a smoke break on a day out in LA with his daughter Violet. He stopped and stood with one hand in his jeans pocket with his eyes closed in weary contemplation, as he made the most of his time alone. Unfortunately for him, the image - notoriously dubbed 'sad Ben Affleck' - went viral and was used worldwide. KHLOE KARDASHIAN We've all had them, the occasional bad hair day, but not many of us have had pics of such unexpected moments splashed all over the Internet. Khloe Kardashian's one of the unfortunate few who had such an unflattering photo in 2011 on a shopping trip in Dallas when blustery weather worked against her as she made her way back to her car - to the benefit of trailing photographers. KHLOE KARDASHIAN (AGAIN) In 2021, a leaked photo of Khloe began circulating online. Highly unflattering, the unfiltered and unretouched image showed her minus make-up as she modelled in leopard-print swimwear. That might seem innocent, but it later transpired that Khloe and her media-savvy family were desperate to wipe all traces of it - and with good reason. The candid photo - shared without her consent - was damning evidence as to the extent she carefully manipulated her photos before releasing them on social media. The distraught star addressed the drama on Instagram days later, and shared live videos of herself to prove that her body was not regularly 'Photoshopped'. Her subsequent statement spoke about the pressure of being in the spotlight and her body being 'micro-analyzed' as a public figure. She also revealed that being compared to her siblings Kim and Kourtney in addition to 'constant ridicule and judgement' had been 'too much to bear'. JENNIFER ANISTON In a world increasingly opposed to lighting up, it's no surprise that Jennifer Aniston chose to keep her off-screen smoking status a closely guarded secret. However, in 2022, the actress - known for her wholesome, health-conscious public image - was filmed by her former husband Justin Theroux as he lit her cigarette. Not a huge issue, you'd think, but Aniston had claimed to have given up the habit following a previous confession about her being a 'chain-smoker' who could easily get through a pack a day during the early years of her career. Fans took the admission literally, and many believed she had stopped with the cigarettes in 2007 - three years after she'd filmed her final Friends scenes. Unfortunately for her, the damning 'smoking gun' video proved otherwise, and it was swiftly deleted from Justin's Instagram page - but it's still to be found elsewhere. BEYONCE Performing at Super Bowl in 2013, Beyonce sang and danced to thousands of gathered spectators and millions of TV viewers around the world during her halftime show at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. But she was less than impressed with some of the photos that emerged following her energetic performance at the 83,000 capacity venue. In fact, she was forced to confront online outlet Buzzfeed for its publishing of pics with the star in full flow with matted hair, strained sinews, and a sweaty complexion. Beyonce's dismay led to her publicist emailing the site directly with a request for the offending snaps to be taken down - which Buzzfeed refused. The site reacted to the demand with a follow-up article called The Unflattering Photos Beyonce's Publicist Doesn't Want You To See. LANA DEL REY Lana Del Rey would be forgiven for regretting her decision to pose beside a barbed-wire fence right outside Cook County Department of Corrections in 2022. The singer was pictured with her arm around her musician ex Jack Donoghue with the Chicago penitentiary looming behind them. Rumored to have been romantically linked to Jack of the band Salem, Lana seemed to confirm their romance when the image emerged on his Instagram platform, where it was shared alongside the caption: 'Family visit.' Jack previously sparked controversy by sharing a photo of himself licking his pet dog's tongue, and he was also seen in a pic that appeared to capture him during a passionate kiss with a male cousin. Lana wised up and married swamp tour guide Jeremy Dufrene in September 2024.

Celebs Go Dating agents reveal the ‘real reason' Christine McGuiness quit the E4 show and admit it was a ‘brave' move
THE CELEBS Go Dating agents have revealed the "real reason" Christine McGuinness quit the E4 show just weeks into the process. The model - who was married to comedian Paddy McGuinness, 51, until their split in 2022 - signed up alongside six other famous faces in the bid to find love and get help on their dating life. 5 5 5 But early into the process, Christine, 37, announced that she had quit after becoming "overwhelmed" with the attention on her love life and missing her family. In an exclusive interview, love gurus Anna Williamson, Paul C. Brunson and Dr Tara opened up Christine's sudden exit when The Sun visited the Celebs Go Dating agency ahead of the new series. Anna admitted Christine's decision to join the show after her public split was a "brave" move, and it equally took courage for her exit the process after discovering it "wasn't the right time" for her. Anna explained: "It wasn't the right time for Christine to continue her journey in the agency. "I think this is the absolute beauty of what the Celebrity Dating agency does - yes it's a TV show, but it's also real. "What myself, Paul, Dr Tara do, we are not scripted, our skill sets are something we very much practice on the outside as well as within the agency construct. "And for Christine it was very brave that she wanted to dip her toe back into the world of dating and throughout the process of us getting to know her, she realised that perhaps this actually wasn't quite the right time for her to be doing that and took a great deal of confidence and bravery inside to recognise and actually now is not the right time." Anna said that viewers will get to see a different side to Christine and revealed the mum-of-three did in fact go on dates during her short stint on the show. "Christine is a fascinating woman and I think viewers are going to really empathise with everything she brings to us and the show and the Dating Agency," Anna continued. "And Christine for the short amount of time she was with us, she wanted to date and date she did." CGD EXIT The Sun revealed that Christine decided to quit the show in a surprise move. In a statement, Christine said: 'I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention that brings is just too soon for me. 'They've said the door is always open for me, which I'm so grateful for, but for now I'm returning home to my family.' Christine had spent a few days in Ibiza filming for the show with stars including Kerry Katona and Olivia Hawkins. Pals told The Sun she was looking forward to moving on and potentially finding love again. At the time, a source said: 'Christine has been through so much but she's ready to move on. 'When she signed up to Celebs Go Dating the production team were told she was open to dating women as well as men. 'Taking part in a TV show about finding love is all new for Christine but she's just having fun and is enjoying herself.' However those close to Christine said since she flew to Ibiza, she had struggled with putting her private life on camera. A friend added: 'Christine has decided that some things are important for her to keep private. 'She thought signing up to Celebs Go Dating was a good idea at first but now she feels overwhelmed by the attention. 'Christine has stepped away from the show and they have been really supportive of her and her decision. 'Her wellbeing was their main priority and Christine is looking forward to getting home to be with her family.' Christine and her ex, comedian Paddy McGuiness announced they had separated in 2022 after 15 years together. The couple first met through a mutual friend in 2007, when she was 19 and he was 33. Two years later, he popped the question and they married in 2011 at Merseyside's Thornton Manor Estate. The TV personality delighted her former co-stars when she made a surprise return to the series' finale in June. A insider told The Sun: "Christine's return was kept top secret from everyone, so they were all so excited to see her come back. "The cast were really sad when she quit the show, even though they totally supported and understood her reasons, so it was great to see her come back. "She started the journey with them all, so it was the perfect end that she got to finish the series with them too. "Christine may not have found love on the show, but she seemed really happy and in a great place. "Leaving the show was the right decision for her but she loved being back in the mix without the pressure of having to actually date on camera." Watch Celebs Go Dating on E4, or stream on Channel 4 from Monday 11 August, 9pm. 5 5

Disgraced Food Network star announces closure of her flagship restaurant 12 years after racism scandal
Former Food Network star Paula Deen unexpectedly shuttered her two Savannah, Georgia restaurants on Friday. The 78-year-old disgraced TV personality and chef announced the closures of The Lady & Sons and The Chicken Box via Facebook and her website, Deen — whose career took a hit when she admitted to using a racial slur in 2013 — wrote to fans, 'Hey, y'all, my sons and I made the heartfelt decision that Thursday, July 31st, was the last day of service for The Lady & Sons and The Chicken Box.' She continued in the note, which was also signed by her sons Jamie, 58, and Bobby, 55, 'Thank you for all the great memories and for your loyalty over the past 36 years. 'We have endless love and gratitude for every customer who has walked through our doors. We are equally grateful to our incredible staff — past and present — whose hard work, care, and hospitality made The Lady & Sons what it was. 'Savannah will always be our home, and we'll always be here to support our wonderful community.' Amid the shock shutdowns, the family is attending to their other businesses. 'We will now focus our attention on the four Paula Deen's Family Kitchen locations across the country—in Pigeon Forge, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, and Branson,' the letter read. In just a few days the trio will be on-site at one of their remaining eateries. 'We're excited to continue visiting these restaurants regularly, starting with Branson on August 8th,' said the correspondence. They directed patrons to a phone number and email for future reservations, events, and catering inquiries. The message was signed off with 'Love & Best Dishes.' It comes 12 years after Food Network axed the celebrity chef's TV show, Paula's Home Cooking series. The cancellation was due to backlash from a deposition in which Deen confessed to using a racial slur. By Friday the doors were shuttered and a written explanation was plastered on the windows In an interview with CBS News, Savannah resident Martin Rowe said about the now-defunct restaurants: 'Nobody knew anything was wrong.' He added: 'I walk by there two or three times a week at lunch, and it was always packed.' The Lady & Sons was Deen's 'flagship restaurant' and was established in June 1989. Meanwhile, The Chicken Box was much newer, having opened just two years ago in 2023. In late May the restaurant was forced to briefly suspend service in the wake of electrical issues caused by inclement weather. An Instagram post dated May 28 included the caption: 'Still having electrical issues after the flooding y'all- elevator is janky now as well. Hopefully back tomorrow. Stay tuned. Thank y'all.' It included a photo of a sign outside the business that read: 'We hope to re-open tomorrow for lunch service. This flood did a real number on us. Sorry y'all - Jamie.'
