Bomb threat emails to Bengaluru schools traced to offshore platform AtomicMail, cops suspect Telegram bots
Since 2023, the services used in such threats have changed from Beeble to a Tor-based dark web mailer and now to AtomicMail, and they all don't log IP addresses, keep no user records, and operate under jurisdictions that either reject legal cooperation or require treaties that India doesn't have.
According to officials, AtomicMail is part of a growing network of offshore platforms designed for 'privacy-first' communication but misused for hoaxes, fraud, and cyber threats.
This isn't the first instance of Bengaluru schools receiving such threats. Between 2022 and 2024, Bengaluru reported 133 such cases. In 2023, most emails were sent through Beeble.
Later, threat actors moved to Tor-based dark web services and, more recently, to AtomicMail, which has seen a rise in abuse cases globally due to its short data retention window and lack of oversight.

Raja Raghuvanshi murder case to be made into film titled 'Honeymoon in Shillong'
A film based on the sensational murder of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi is in the works, his family announced on Monday. Tentatively titled 'Honeymoon in Shillong', the film will trace the events leading up to his death during a trip to Meghalaya with his wife Sonam, who is one of the prime accused in the announcement was made during a press conference held at the Raghuvanshi residence in Indore. Raja's elder brother Sachin Raghuvanshi said the family had given their consent for the film to ensure that the truth reaches the public. "If we do not bring the story of my brother's murder to the big screen, people will not be able to know who was right and who was wrong," he brother, Vipin, added that the film would also help present a balanced image of Meghalaya, which has been drawn into the spotlight following the crime. The film is being directed by SP Nimbawat, who said the project aims to highlight how betrayal can have deadly consequences. "Through our film, we want to give a message to the public that such incidents of betrayal should be stopped," he said. Nimbawat confirmed that the script is complete, with 80 per cent of the shoot planned in Indore and the rest in parts of Meghalaya."Through the film Honeymoon in Shillong we want to give society a message. We want to make this film so that whatever happened to Raja, doesn't happen to anyone else. We are going to get Bollywood actors and the script is more or less ready. Around 20 per cent of the movie will be shot in Shillong. The main angle of the film will be the fight scene - how he was killed and what he suffered. The movie is slated for a worldwide release," said Raghuvanshi had travelled to Meghalaya with his wife Sonam in May. He went missing soon after, and on June 2, his mutilated body was recovered from a deep gorge near a waterfall in Sohra (Cherrapunji) in East Khasi Hills district. Police arrested eight people, including Sonam and her suspected lover, Raj Kushwaha. Three of the accused have been granted Raghuvanshi, in a statement to reporters, said the family suspects more than five people were involved in the conspiracy. He claimed Sonam attempted to mislead police about her movements after the murder and that she had been in frequent contact with Raj Kushwaha in the days following Raja's death. "Had Raj been innocent, he wouldn't be talking to Sonam for hours," Vipin said, alleging that Sonam was sheltering in Raj's hometown when she was also expressed frustration over Sonam's background not being fully disclosed before the marriage. Merchant robbed of 70 kg of silver in Mathura
Agency: PTI Mathura (UP), Jul 30 (PTI) Unidentified assailants allegedly robbed a Mathura-based merchant of 70 kilograms of silver in the Farah area of the district on the night of July 29-30, police said. Deputy Inspector General of Police (Agra Range) Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that the robbery took place near Hindustan College on National Highway 19 in the Farah police station limits. 'The incident occurred when the merchant, returning from Agra with his two sons, was intercepted by a jeep and a motorcycle. The vehicles reportedly overtook their car, forcing it to stop… the merchant and his sons were forced to exit the vehicle, and the robbers fled with a bag containing 70 kilograms of silver," said the officer.
