Further light has been shed on claims that Eamonn Holmes faced a 'chorus of boos' as he accepted a major accolade at an entertainment awards show.
Footage from the event shows the 65-year-old presenter appearing to be 'heckled' as he collected the best news award on behalf of GB News Breakfast at the Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) awards on Tuesday.
Using a wheelchair ramp to access the stage at London's Grosvenor House, the former This Morning host expressed gratitude to the production team and viewers.
However, just moments later he was seemingly jeered by members of the audience in what was reportedly a feisty environment.
However, despite the claims of Eamonn being 'booed and heckled' at the ceremony, a source who was present at the event told Metro that 'no one booed' and instead 'people applauded him'.
A source had previously told MailOnline: 'After it was announced that GB News Breakfast had won, there were a few boos around the room. Due to his wheelchair, Eamonn needed a ramp to get up on the stage.
'He gave a moving speech about the work of colleague Charlie Peters, who had earlier won news presenter for his work on exposing grooming gangs in Britain.
'It was a nice moment seeing Eamonn pay tribute to a fellow news presenter, but it seemed someone in the audience didn't agree.
'They heckled for Eamonn to 'get off,' and it was an awkward end to his speech.'
Applause and cheers could also be heard in the video that was recorded at the awards ceremony.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Eamonn sparked an investigation at GB News after a 'young female producer was hit by his wheelchair'.
The former This Morning presenter, who joined GB News in 2022, was first spotted using a wheelchair late last year.
It came after years of ill health, first starting with a double hip replacement in 2016, before he slipped three discs in his back in 2021. He then underwent a back surgery that went 'wrong' in 2023, which left him needing to use a wheelchair.
In The Mail on Sunday, it was reported that a young female producer was 'left bruised' after being hit by Eamonn's wheelchair, sparking an investigation at GB News.
Metro previously reached out to the TV presenter's representative for comment.
At the Tric Awards, GB News fended off the likes of BBC News At Six, ITV's Good Morning Britain and ITV Evening News to win the award for best news show.
Elsewhere on the night, GB News reporter Charlie beat former BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, Fiona Bruce and Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid to win the award for best news presenter.
But it was not the only evening's upset, after Amazon Prime Video series Clarkson's Farm beat The Traitors for the best reality series award.
Jeremy Clarkson's series, which recently returned for a fourth season, came out on top over other popular reality shows, including BBC's The Traitors and ITV's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Last month, Eamonn went viral after toppling off his chair during a live broadcast on GB News, which left him 'bruised, sore and embarrassed'. More Trending
Speaking straight after his fall, Eamonn said of the wheels on his chair: 'They're a bit slippy and slidey, and I've slipped and slid off mine there.
'Not the first guest to have done so; we've had a few. They have to remain nameless because they're well-known people, but they've hit the floor really badly, quite frightening.'
Despite Eamonn playing down the mishap, he did admit the accident had left him a bit shocked.
'The worst thing about this, of course, this was at a time when I was hospitalised two weeks ago for a very similar fall in the same area, back of the head, my neck, my shoulders,' he explained. 'So it all came back, as it were.'

John Torode looks serious in first public appearance since MasterChef sacking

John Torode has been spotted in public for the first time since he was sacked as a presenter on BBC series MasterChef. The TV presenter and chef, 60, was removed from the cooking competition alongside his co-host Gregg Wallace, also 60, earlier this month. Wallace stepped away from MasterChef in November last year as an in-depth investigation was conducted into the historical allegations regarding his behaviour on the show. It was found that 45 out of 83 allegations were upheld following the investigation, with Wallace saying he was 'deeply sorry' for his past actions but insisted the most serious allegations were unproven. Days later, it emerged that co-host Torode's contract would not be renewed after nine complaints were lodged against him – among which was a claim that he 'used the N-word' on two separate occasions. Torode's removal as presenter – which was confirmed on July 14 – came in spite of his insistence that he had no memory of either incident ever taking place. Now, just over a week later, he's been spotted out in public for the first time since it was revealed that he was also investigated as part of the Silkins report. He was spotted on Wednesday July 23 on his 60th birthday visiting an organic food store near his home in north London. A source told The Sun that John had decided to have 'a quiet birthday meal' with his wife Lisa Faulkner and some close friends, adding: 'It's been an incredibly difficult time for him.' Accompanying Torode was his family dog, Rory, a schnauzer, with the TV host holding Rory's lead in one hand and a reusable blue and white shopping bag in the other. He opted for casual clothes, donning a navy blue t-shirt and matching blue jogging trousers, completing his look with black and white trainers. In the images taken on Wednesday, Torode appeared not to acknowledge the photographers, choosing instead to carry on with his day as normal. Despite the revelations of the investigation, the BBC has said that the series of MasterChef filmed before Wallace and Torode's sackings will air as normal. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A BBC spokesperson said: 'After careful consideration and consultation with the contestants, we have decided to broadcast the amateur series of MasterChef on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from August 6. 'MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the amateur chefs taking part. The focus of it has always been their skill and their journey.' More Trending The spokesperson revealed that it had 'not been an easy decision in the circumstances' and acknowledged that not everyone would agree with the final result. They added: 'In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. 'We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC.' View More » Calling it the 'right thing to do' for the cooks to be 'properly recognised', the BBC did qualify that the fate of the celebrity series and two Christmas special episodes featuring Torode was uncertain. All five episodes of the political thriller, which comes from Academy Award nominee Matt Charman, will drop on the streaming platform on August 21. The series follows French President Vivienne Toussant, played by Julie Delpy, and UK Prime Minister Abigail Denton, played by Jones, as they're caught in the middle of an international incident. France and England's political leaders are set to meet at an international summit when Abigail's husband, Alex, is kidnapped by vigilantes, causing chaos. Her husband's abductors announce that PM Dalton must step down from her position if she ever wants to see her husband alive again. Also speaking to the streamer, Jones revealed the true nature of her character: 'She is put in such extreme circumstances, and we see that when push comes to shove, she puts her country over her family.' She then revealed that the original working title for Hostage was The Choice, emphasising the importance of Dalton's tough decision to the overall plot. Jones added: 'I'm thrilled to be on Netflix in something I'm really proud of. It's been something I've wanted to do for a long time. We'd talked about projects previously, but for me, it was about finding the right thing. 'Hostage was perfect — me and Matt together, backed up by this brilliant, supportive team. I loved it.' Delpy said of her President Toussaint: 'She's good at handling situations and power, but her weakness is her hidden side. She puts herself and her entire career in danger for something that could have been avoided.' Sofian Francis, who stars in three episodes of the miniseries as Burke, called the series 'one of my favourite filming experiences ever' and said that he can't wait to see the full hostage series in action. Actor Dominic Lawrence commented on Instagram: 'I am so so so excited for this,' while US-based fans of Jones wondered if the show was getting a worldwide release. NikkiLuman asked: 'Will it come to US Netflix at the same time?', before fans informed her that Hostage would get releases in the US and Canada, among other territories. More Trending CallieWalsh33 said: 'Can't wait – love Suranne in everything she's in,' while AnnWoodbutters5 remarked: 'Wow – can't wait, Suranne at her best.' As well as starring Jones and Delpy, Hostage also features Corey Mylchreest as Matheo Lewis, Lucian Msamati as Kofi Adomako, and Ashley Thomas as Dr Alex Anderson. Further down the cast list are Game of Thrones and Trainspotting actor James Cosmo and French former Savages singer Jehnny Beth. Channel 4 fans can now binge 10 episodes of 'adrenaline rush' Belgian thriller

It's not hard to imagine there's inherent drama that comes with being a member of a firefighting crew. The huge popularity of Chicago Fire in the US (as well as every other show under the Chicago umbrella) shows the appetite for watching the fictive emergency services at work. And if that sounds to your fancy, then Channel 4's latest Belgian acquisition might be as well. The ten-parter Under Fire was added to the free streamer this week and promises a 'thrilling' ride. So what exactly is it about? At East Bank Station, a close-knit crew of firefighters are trying to balance their high-stress jobs with the chaos of their personal lives. The motley crew, based in Ostend, Belgium, is headed up by one Lieutenant Patrick Sinnaeve (Sam Louwyck) and counts Orlando Foncke (Louis Talpe) as the bravest in the squad. There is no burning building he won't charge straight towards. But behind the scenes Orlando is a mess. And even in front of the scenes, he's prone to bending the rules in a way that definitely goes against firefighter protocol. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video With bad boy behaviour prevalent across the squad, things go topsy-turvy when a deadly mishap puts the headstrong bunch in the firing line – so now they're fighting fires on the street and in their office. To save their cherished fire station, Sinnaeve is forced to take a desk job and put his team in the hands of the new Lieutenant Dominique Meersman (Lien De Grave). In part because she's a woman, the appointment does not go down a treat in the macho blokey-bloke ethos of the station. Dramatic and heart-pumping visuals abound as the team faces major internal changes, all while fighting to save lives on the job. The show dropped on Netflix in 2022, but is now available to stream for free on Channel 4 as part of the platform's Walter Presents offshoot. Walter Presenters launched back in 2016, it is an on-demand platform with a selection of award-winning foreign-language dramas, hand-picked by Walter Iuzzolino. The Shadow . Many reviews of Under Fire, or Onder Vuur in Belgian, have remarked on the authentic nature of the actions sequences. More Trending A review in Midgard Times gushed: 'There are some scenes in the series, like rescuing the people stuck in a hot balloon that appear to be so real. The audience will be able to feel the adrenaline rush.' 'Under Fire sounds like it might just be Chicago Fire by way of Belgium, but its truly gripping and cinematic action sequences take it up a notch and make it a worthy binge,' said a write-up in Decider. Elsewhere, user reviews on the show were mixed, with some noting it wasn't particularly realistic (!), but @info-37063 wrote on IMDb: 'Loved the interventions, the actors and the shots. Nicely filmed and great atmosphere. For a Flemish series absolutely something innovative and worth the watch!' View More » Under Fire is available to stream on Channel 4 and Netflix. Got a story?
