During the offseason, the Dallas Cowboys made a flurry of moves to bolster the cast of offensive weapons around Dak Prescott. With training camp just around the corner, they've been named a possible suitor for a former first-round pick if he were to hit the market.
Back in 2021, the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted running back Najee Harris with the 24th overall pick. He went on to become a key piece of the franchise, tallying at least 1,000 yards and six touchdowns in each of his first four seasons. However, despite his consistent production, the Steelers decided to let Harris walk in free agency. He'd go on to find a new home in the AFC, inking a one-year deal with the LA Chargers.
Following mandatory minicamp earlier this month, the people at Bleacher Report put together a big board of possible trade candidates in the NFL. Seeing that he's on a one-year deal and the Chargers just drafted a RB, Harris' name popped up. As for teams who could make a run at him in the trade market, the Cowboys were among those mentioned.

"That said, Harris is on a one-year deal and may not be viewed as a long-term piece for L.A. The Chargers also drafted Omarion Hampton with the No. 22 overall pick in April, and the North Carolina product might walk into an every-down role," wrote BR's Kristopher Knox. "Dallas should consider adding Harris as a high-floor option in its backfield."
With a gunslinger in Prescott under center, the run game isn't something the Cowboys typically lean on. That said, bringing in a reliable back could give the offense a much-needed dynamic. Being able to establish a ground game might help open up things for Prescott to utilize his new receiver duo of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.

Trading for Harris isn't exactly a necessity for the Cowboys, as running back is a position they've secured short and long-term options at. In free agency, they landed a pair of veterans in Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders. Dallas also took a flier on two RBs in Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah.
While it might not be a major area of need, monitoring Harris' situation could make sense for the Cowboys as they attempt to compete in a stacked NFC East.

4 former Steelers poised for huge 2025 seasons including Justin Fields
The Pittsburgh Steelers took a huge risk this offseason by completely gutting out their skill-position players from top to bottom. Quarterbacks Justin Fields and Russell Wilson are both set to start for other teams, running back Najee Harris as well and wide receiver George Pickens now gets to line up with an elite running mate at receiver. Ultimately, how these four players perform in relation to their replacements will go a long way in terms of public perception of the job head coach Mike Tomlin has done. Let's break out the positions these four find themselves in. Quarterback Justin Fields Fields got a raw deal in Pittsburgh. After going 4-2 as a starter in 2024, Tomlin chose to bench Fields in favor of Wilson, which ended any opportunity to re-sign Fields. Now Fields is the new starting quarterback of the New York Jets and has some excellent weapons around him and a coaching staff willing to tailor things around his skills. Quarterback Russell Wilson No one expected Wilson to come in and win a Super Bowl. But after missing the first six games with a calf injury, Wilson returned last season and started off hot. But after going 6-1 in his first seven starts, the wheels fell off and the team crumbled down the stretch. Now, Wilson is set to start but compete with rookie Jaxson Dart to run what is set up to be an explosive Giants passing game. Running back Najee Harris When Harris signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, we immediately felt like this was the best thing that could happen to him. We love Harris as a player and never felt like he was the best fit in Pittsburgh and didn't have the offensive line to help him be successful. Now, even with rookie Omarion Hampton with the Chargers, Harris is in a great spot to be a much more effecient runner, even if he isn't the full-time starter. Wide receiver George Pickens We hated to see the Steelers trade Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. Even with all his issues, we felt like having DK Metcalf on the team as well as Aaron Rodgers to be the offensive leader would have been great for him. Now, he goes to a near-identical situation with quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to push his game to the next level. Steelers linked to another tight end trade target — Seahawks' Noah Fant
It must be Groundhog Day in the Steel City — as the Pittsburgh Steelers have been linked to another tight end trade target. As Pittsburgh's rumored interest in Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith and Falcons TE Kyle Pitts has begun to simmer down, CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin predicted the Seahawks to trade TE Noah Fant to the Steelers. Here's how Benjamin justified the proposal: "Even after securing Metcalf as their new No. 1 wideout, the Steelers have reportedly been sniffing around for pass catchers, in part to replace the gifted but volatile Pickens. And Fant — more so than, say, the Atlanta Falcons' Kyle Pitts — would seem to be readily available in Seattle. The Seahawks spent a second-round draft pick on fellow tight end Elijah Arroyo, whose athleticism could quickly vault him into a starting role, and trading Fant would save the team close to $9 million in 2025, the last year of the veteran's deal. As a bonus, Fant previously spent three years working alongside current Steelers assistant Zach Azzanni in Denver." Benjamin acknowledged that the Seahawks would be hesitant to send their only proven tight end option to Pittsburgh, while also arguing that the Steelers could have too many mouths to feed in their own tight end room. Although trade predictions have been piling up as NFL news slows down — especially with nearly a month remaining until training camp — this speculative proposal is far more feasible than the viral Najee Harris trade report. Could Pittsburgh ultimately pull off a trade before camp? And if they do, will the Steelers address their defense with a star corner like Jalen Ramsey — or perhaps reunite Aaron Rodgers with a former teammate in WR Allen Lazard? TruEdge releases statement about former Steelers WR George Pickens bailing on youth football camp
Earlier in the week, news came out that former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens bailed on his youth football camp in Pittsburgh just three days before the camp. Thankfully, Steelers wide receiver Pat Feiermuth stepped in at the last minute and save the day for all the camper. TruEdge, the company who puts on these camps all over the country released a statement about Pickens skipping out on the camp. But on Friday, TruEdge walked their statement back and did a bit of damage control with a new statement that absolves Pickens of any real responsibility for missing the camp. Instead, they made it out to be a miscommunication and laid the blame back on themselves for how they characterized Pickens in their original release. With TruEdge working with NFL players all over the country, I'm sure it was more important to keep Pickens happy in case he wants to show up at a camp in Dallas now that he's a Cowboy. Given Pickens reputation, his absence likely had more to do with his lack of interest in returning to Pittsburgh than anything else.
