'Mayele does not want to come to Kaizer Chiefs anymore'
After months of speculation, it seems Fiston Mayele might not join Kaizer Chiefs after all.
The 30-year-old is set to leave Pyramids for Saudi Arabia in the coming weeks. Mayele's 'brother' and fellow Congolese Christian Bukasa told KickOff that the striker is no longer interested in playing in South Africa after winning the Caf Champions League.
'He doesn't want South Africa anymore, so I'm surprised that Mayele is still being linked to Chiefs up to now,' he told KickOff.
'When Mayele wanted to come to South Africa, Chiefs turned us down and we moved on. The truth is that while at Yanga, he wanted to come to South Africa, but he was told about age, money, and so felt discouraged.
'He will not even come to Mamelodi Sundowns because the PSL chapter is gone. He now needs to make money and will move to Saudi Arabia, where his salary will be tripled before all other bonuses. We are talking proper money,' Bukasa continued.
'At his age, he needs to make money for himself and his family, and the best destination for him next is Saudi Arabia, where talks are already ongoing with clubs there.
'What is the reason for coming to South Africa for less money now, when there is so much more for him in Saudi Arabia. He told me that he will only come here during the holidays to listen to 'Amapiano' and not to play soccer. For soccer, all the teams must forget, and this is the truth.
'In Africa, besides Pyramids, he can only play for Al Ahly,' he said.
With Mayele set to leave for Saudi, Chiefs should start looking for a striker.

Goalie Swart ready to keep it clean for Banyana in Wafcon defence
Goalkeeper Kaylin Swart of South Africa is expected top play a key role in Banyana's Wafcon defence. Photo: BackpagePix Image: BackpagePix Banyana Banyana are set to embark on another historic journey as they prepare to defend their Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco. With just days to go before their opening fixture, Desiree Ellis's side will be looking to build on a remarkable run of recent success. Having claimed their first-ever WAFCON title in 2022 — beating hosts Morocco 2-1 in the final — Banyana have transformed into one of the continent's most formidable teams. That historic triumph was followed by another milestone in 2023, when they became the first South African senior national side, men or women, to reach the last 16 of a Fifa World Cup. They bowed out after a hard-fought 2–0 defeat to The Netherlands at the 2023 Women's World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Video Player is loading. Next Stay Close ✕ Their return to Morocco for this year's continental showpiece presents another chance to add to their growing legacy. They will begin their title defence against Ghana next Monday, a match-up that marks the start of what promises to be another compelling campaign. Despite their preparations being overshadowed by lingering pay disputes, the quality and experience in the squad will once again see them as one of the favourites in the tournament. Recent friendly matches against Botswana and Zambia have offered coach Ellis the opportunity to fine-tune her tactics and test the depth of her squad. The positive outcomes from those matches should offer some confidence ahead of the tournament. One of the key figures in the squad is experienced goalkeeper Kaylin Swart, who was part of both the 2022 WAFCON and 2023 World Cup campaigns. African champions Banyana Banyana hard at work at training ahead of the WAFCON. Jermaine Seoposenwe arrived and watched her colleagues going through their paces.#LiveTheImpossible @SABC_Sport — Banyana_Banyana (@Banyana_Banyana) June 29, 2025 She believes the team's return to familiar North African territory will work in their favor and the pressure of being defending champions will not get to them. 'Pressure is a privilege, and when our backs are against the wall, that is when we perform,' Swart said, ahead of the start of the tournament. 'There is a little bit of pressure being champions because the title holds a lot of weight. But I know once we start the tournament, that pressure will not get to us. 'It's such great memories in Morocco. We were in Rabat in 2022, and now we're in Casablanca, but yeah, the feeling is the same. We're very excited to be here because it's familiar territory for us, and hopefully all that excitement can come back from 2022, and hopefully we can do it again. 'Now we have got to obviously write a new book, and there's a lot more to be done, but if we can repeat history, that would be great. It's not going to be easy, but yes, 2024 (2025) might just be a really good chapter for us,' she added.

Orlando Pirates news: Ndah, Mofokeng, Saleng, Zindoga
Orlando Pirates inundated with key injuries last campaign, look set to be reunited with Nigerian international Olisa Ndah. The highly-rated centre-back has been out since last September after sustaining a tibia fracture. Meanwhile, the arrival of Abdeslam Ouaddou has sparked rumours between the Buccaneers and Marumo Gallants striker Junior Zindoga. According to insiders, the Moroccan manager is keen to lure his former attacker. Serious question marks are lingering over the futures of Relebohile Mofokeng and Monnapule Saleng, who are both being linked with moves away. The latter hasn't featured since December 7 following salary demands Orlando Pirates deemed unjust. A four-month hiatus then ensued. No clubs have shown interest this offseason, but many believe he will move this winter. Meanwhile, Mofokeng has several clubs – FC Cincinnati, Al Ahly and Zamalek – vying for his services. However, his father, Sechaba, believes Europe is the ultimate destination. 'My biggest wish is to see Rele overseas in 2025/2026. I'm praying every day. I don't want to see him in the Betway Premiership again this season. I know God will answer my prayers,' Sechaba said '[Whether it's in] Spain, England, Netherlands, France, Denmark, Switzerland — Rele can play. I believe that with all my heart. Take him to Barcelona? He can play. PSG? He can play. Any country. I'll be happy — but not Saudi Arabia,' he added. 'Not yet. He's still young. He needs to compete in UEFA competitions. If he goes to Saudi now, he won't experience that. Yes, he'd be rich — but happiness is more important. You can have all the money in the world, but if you're not happy, it's worthless.'
