Egypt's Mufti Reaffirms Support for Palestinian Cause
Dr. Nazir Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, received a high-level Palestinian delegation. The delegation included Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, Chief Islamic Justice of Palestine and Religious Affairs Advisor to the Palestinian President, and Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Najm, Minister of Religious Endowments.
During the meeting, Dr. Ayyad reiterated Egypt's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, describing it as a matter of faith, identity, and moral responsibility. He strongly condemned the ongoing aggression in Gaza, commended the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, and reaffirmed Egypt's firm rejection of any attempts at displacement.
The Palestinian officials expressed their deep appreciation for Egypt's principled and consistent stance. They praised the Grand Mufti's leadership and his vital role in defending Palestinian rights and advancing a balanced, moderate religious discourse across the region.

Palestine requests extraordinary session of Arab League Council Tuesday - War on Gaza
In a statement, Al-Aklouk said the request comes in response to the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, where Palestinians are facing starvation, a siege, and the systematic killing of civilians lured to inhumane aid distribution points. He stressed that Israel's deliberate weaponization of starvation against the Palestinian people is a tool of genocide. He noted that approximately 1,000 Palestinians have been killed while waiting for food at the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid distribution sites. He stated that these aid sites are a new method of killing Palestinians under a false humanitarian cover. Al-Aklouk added that the call for the urgent session also stems from the continued targeting of Islamic and Christian holy sites by the occupying state. This includes a recent move to strip Hebron Municipality of its authority over the Ibrahimi Mosque and surrounding areas, transferring control instead to the so-called 'Religious Council' of Israeli settlements in the city. He warned that this constitutes an attempt to alter the historical, legal, and religious status of the site, to fully Judaize it—calling it a dangerous precedent and a flagrant violation of international law and relevant United Nations (UN) resolutions, including those of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The ambassador also condemned the targeting of the historic Latin Monastery Church in Gaza, one of the world's oldest churches, which currently houses hundreds of displaced civilians, calling the attack a crime and a clear violation of international humanitarian law. According to Al-Aklouk, Palestine's request for the emergency session aims to initiate coordinated political, legal, and diplomatic action at the Arab and international levels to address these grave and unprecedented violations.

Pope has first call with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas - Region
Pope Leo spoke by phone on Monday to the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmud Abbas, about the conflict in Gaza and violence in the West Bank, the Vatican said. It was the first official conversation between the two men since Leo's papacy began. "The Holy Father repeated his appeal for international humanitarian law to be fully respected, emphasising in particular the obligation to protect civilians and sacred places, the prohibition of the indiscriminate use of force and of the forced transfer of the population," the Vatican wrote. The pope emphasised "the urgent need to provide assistance to those most vulnerable to the consequences of the conflict and to allow the adequate entry of humanitarian aid", it said. It followed a call on Friday between the pope and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a day after a strike by Israel on Gaza's only Catholic Church that killed three people. On Sunday, Leo condemned the "barbarity" of the war in Gaza and again called for a peaceful resolution. The Holy See, which supports a two-state solution, formally recognised the state of Palestine through an agreement signed in 2015, one of the first states in Europe to do so.
