Modified BMW stuck on speed bump sparks viral 'CPR' rescue attempt

The Sun5 days ago
A modified black BMW with an extremely low ground clearance became lodged on a modest speed bump in Bukit Serdang, Seri Kembangan, drawing attention both on the road and online.
In a 28-second video circulating on social media, four individuals can be seen attempting to free the car by jumping on its rear end, while the driver revved the engine in the hope of regaining traction.
A Facebook post by Cerita Kita Beb, which shared the clip, attracted over 99,000 views and dozens of comments, many amused by what appeared to be a coordinated, CPR-like effort to 'resuscitate' the car.
Despite their energetic attempt, the rear wheels spun freely in the air, and the vehicle remained stuck, causing a brief traffic build-up.
The scene sparked a wave of online reactions, with many criticising the impracticality of extreme car modifications and suggesting that style had been prioritised over basic functionality.
While some called the driver inconsiderate for holding up traffic, others pointed out that simply placing a plank beneath the rear tyres might have resolved the issue more effectively than the dramatic rescue attempt.

Sarawak records three weeks without rabies cases, Mayor urges continued vigilance

Wee gives the thumbs up to a pet owner and her vaccinated dog. — Photo courtesy of Mayor's Office KUCHING (Aug 3): Sarawak has achieved an encouraging milestone with zero rabies infections reported over the last three weeks, from July 14 to Aug 1, said Kuching South Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng. He urged everyone to help maintain this positive record, with the ultimate goal of making Sarawak rabies-free. 'Let us continue working together to curb rabies and achieve zero rabies infections for Sarawak,' he said during his Facebook live session 'Shall WEE Talk' yesterday. On a separate issue, Wee advised road users to be extra cautious when making U-turns at the traffic lights near Teck Kong Supermarket in Tabuan Jaya. The junction is currently undergoing construction of Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART), part of the Kuching Urban Transformation System (KUTS) project undertaken by Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd. Due to the ongoing construction, the space available for U-turns has been reduced, posing challenges and risks for motorists. In light of this, the mayor appealed to drivers to slow down when the traffic light turns amber, during the countdown, reminding road users to stop. 'It is very risky to attempt a U-turn once the countdown has begun, as vehicles will start moving when the green light activates from the other direction,' he said, adding that colisions may occur if the U-turn is not completed in time. Wee also observed that some motorists drive slowly during the green light and accelerate when the light turns amber—a habit he strongly discouraged. 'The amber lights are not a signal for you to take a chance.' He called on all road users to follow traffic rules and regulations to avoid untoward incidents and hoped that the construction in Tabuan Jaya would be completed as soon as possible to offer greater convenience for all.
