Both govt & YSRCP take up door-to-door campaign
As the NDA government turns a year old, the alliance flagged off a door-to-door drive under the banner 'suparipalana lo tholi adugu' (first step towards good governance). In connection with it, the ministers plus MLAs swung into action to reach out to constituents in their respective segments, highlight schemes offered, future plans in store along with the initiatives taken so far.
On the contrary, the YSRCP is all set to initiate its campaign to flag the government lapses in the past one year. This includes non-implementation of Super Six assurances, absence of development and promises unmet. Recalling Chandrababu Naidu's manifesto, the YSRCP is gearing up to roll out the 'Babu surety-mosam (cheating) guarantee' campaign. Through the drive, the YSRCP leaders intend to take up the government's lapses at district, village and mandal levels.
As part of its 'suparipalana lo tholi adugu', the alliance leaders are reaching out to households with a different goal altogether. Along with highlighting the commitments made so far, the aim of the drive is to make people understand how the state is witnessing signs of growth despite five years of YSRCP's misrule.
In addition to building awareness about the welfare schemes, the alliance is also keen on educating people on Central government schemes, industries that are going to be established in the state, investments made so far and jobs created for the youth.
Agreeing that the Opposition has a right to bring forth the lapses of the government, TDP state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao, says, 'But there will not be any use even if the YSRCP takes up any false campaign as people have seen what the state government has done in the past one year. They will make the right decision based on the facts and will not get carried away with false propaganda,' the MLA shares with The Hans India.
Already, the NDA government implemented schemes such as increased pensions, free LPG cylinders, revived Anna canteens and 'thalliki vandhanam'. Soon, initiatives like 'annadata sukhibhava' and free bus travel for women will also be launched.
While the YSRCP plans to launch a door-to-door campaign under the banner 'Babu surety-mosam guarantee', the BJP-TDP-JSP is focusing on its three-month-long drive wherein each party will focus on an entire month for campaigning.
With both the alliance and YSRCP deciding to reach out to people through two different agendas, it has to be seen whether people would emerge as more decisive or confused.

NEW DELHI: Congress leader and leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi on Sunday hit out at the BJP-led NDA government and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar over the murder of businessman Gopal Khemka, calling it proof that the state has turned into "India's crime capital". Businessman Gopal Khemka was shot dead on July 4 around 11 pm near Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Superintendent of Police (SP) Patna, Diksha, confirmed the incident, stating, 'On the night of July 4, at around 11 pm, we received information that businessman Gopal Khemka has been shot dead in the south area of the Gandhi Maidan. The crime scene has been secured, and further investigation is underway. One bullet and one shell have been recovered. ' Director general of police (DGP) Vinay Kumar said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the case, and will be headed by the SP, City Central. The incident bears resemblance to the 2018 killing of Gopal's son, Gunjan Khemka, a BJP leader and then state convener of the party's small industries cell. Gunjan was shot dead at his cotton bandage factory in Hajipur. Following his murder, there was a reported lack of presence by top BJP leadership at the funeral, which left the family disappointed. Ram Khemka, uncle of the deceased, told TOI at the Gulbi Ghat crematorium, 'Gunjan used to spend 3–4 hours every day working for the BJP. Yet no senior leader or minister even raised their voice against his killing.' Only a few BJP MLAs, including Nitin Navin, Arun Kumar Sinha, and Sanjeev Chaurasia, were present at the funeral. Though state BJP president Nityanand Rai visited later, the family had by then decided not to take Gunjan's body to the party office for last rites. YSRCP calls for recall of CM over unfulfilled promises
Rajamahendravaram: YSRCP has intensified its campaign to recall Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, accusing his government of failing to implement election promises. Party State official spokesperson and former MP Margani Bharat Ram urged party leaders and cadres to strongly propagate this call, initiated by their chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, among the public. Speaking at an extensive meeting of the city party at Margani Estate's city office on Sunday, Bharat Ram alleged that Naidu has once again deceived the public with false promises in 2024 elections. 'Giving promises and failing to fulfill them is not new for Chandrababu Naidu,' Bharat Ram stated. He criticised Naidu for abandoning 'Job Kavali Ante Babu Ravali' (If you want a job, Babu should come) slogan from 2014 elections. He further highlighted that the current government has failed to deliver on numerous assurances, including the 'Super Six' promises. He contrasted this with the previous YSRCP government, asserting that Jagan Mohan Reddy implemented numerous welfare schemes from 2019 to 2024, unlike anywhere else in the country. Bharat Ram accused the current government of not only failing to deliver on its election promises but also of selectively choosing beneficiaries for existing schemes based on party affiliation. He claimed that no other government in the country has garnered such significant public opposition within just one year. Bharat Ram urged party workers to strive for victory in every upcoming election, particularly ensuring a YSRCP win in Rajahmundry. Rajahmundry party observer Thippala Gurumurthy Reddy and East Godavari district president and former Minister Chelluboina Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna, who participated as chief guests, also spoke at the event. They credited Jagan Mohan Reddy with truly defining welfare through his schemes. They advised cadres to complete a five-week program to educate the public at the grassroots level about the TDP's 'fake promises'. Leaders including BC Associations JAC leader Margani Nageswara Rao and Chandana Nageshwar also addressed the gathering. During the event, posters featuring a QR code for 'Babu Security Fraud Guarantee' campaign and Chandrababu Naidu's recall were unveiled.
