Non-Hindus must be removed from Tirupati Devasthanams: Union minister
Addressing the media after offering prayers at the Lord Venkateswara temple, he questioned, "How can non-Hindus be given jobs in TTD?" Why are they still being retained even after changes in governments and administrations? What action is being taken when over a thousand non-Hindus are employed in TTD? They must be removed from their positions immediately."
"TTD should allocate funds to support temples, especially those that are unable to afford even the basic rituals like dhupa-deepa-naivedyam, " he said, stating that it was unacceptable that non-Hindus are currently working in TTD despite lacking belief in Hinduism or the deity.
"Would mosques or churches ever employ a Hindu wearing a bottu (sacred mark on the forehead)? No, they wouldn't. So why are non-Hindus being given jobs in TTD? Continuing this practice, even after changes in government, is not right. I strongly demand their immediate removal," he said, demanding their immediate removal.
Sanjay asserted, "Tirumala belongs to Hindus. If non-Hindus or foreigners want to visit the deity, a faith declaration is mandatory. Unfortunately, over a thousand non-Hindus are working in TTD, many of whom do not believe in Hinduism or the deity. Why are such people being employed and retained?"
"This is unacceptable. Their presence is affecting the religious traditions and rituals of the temple. Why are we paying salaries to people who don't even believe in the deity? Hindus across the country are opposing this. It's not enough to say they were appointed a long time ago, this practice must stop immediately.", Sanjay added.
On the occasion of his birthday, the minister said, "I prayed to the Lord that every citizen should live happily and peacefully. We must all unite for the protection of Sanatana Dharma, support each other, and work together for a strong and prosperous India. I prayed for Prime Minister Modi to be blessed with good health and a long life, as he continues to work tirelessly for national development and public welfare."
Sanjay asserted that vote bank politics should not dictate the functioning of sacred institutions, adding, "Retaining those who act against Sanatana Dharma is wrong. Vote bank politics should not dictate the functioning of a sacred institution like TTD. This is the property of Hindus."
Highlighting the plight of neglected temples, especially in the Telugu-speaking states, he urged TTD to take urgent steps. "Many ancient temples and small shrines are struggling even for daily rituals. TTD should identify such temples and allocate funds for their restoration and development on a war footing."
He further demanded the immediate construction of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Karimnagar, for which the foundation has already been laid. He also called for special funds to be earmarked for the Illandakunta Rama Temple and the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple.

Inquiry into ‘inflated tenders' for Samruddhi Mahamarg on the cards
The Principal Accountant General (PAG) of Maharashtra has directed the Accountant General (Audit) to initiate 'necessary action' into the complaint of alleged misappropriation of funds by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) in the construction of the Samruddhi Mahamarg. The MSRDC is headed by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. On June 9, C M Sane, PAG, acting upon a letter from the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Maharashtra legislature, Vijay Wadettiwar, and a complaint from Opposition Nationalist Congress Party (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar, directed the accountant general to initiate the action. The office of PAG is entrusted with the expenditure audit of 38 departments of the Maharashtra government, and reports to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India. The public works department, too, sought a reply from the MSRDC on a similar set of allegations on June 30. The Samruddhi Mahamarg–officially Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg–is a high-speed corridor between Mumbai and Nagpur. In his May 28 letter, Pawar had complained about an alleged embezzlement of money in the Nagpur Mumbai Samruddhi expressway to the PAC of the state legislature. The complaint alleged that the expressway work was carried out in 16 phases, with thousands of crores allegedly being embezzled. The figures in the tender were also inflated, he said. According to the complaint, Phase No 11 of the Samruddhi highway runs from Mouje Dhotre to Mouje Darle in Ahilyanagar. The tender for this was floated in 2018. 'This tender for a total distance of 29 km was awarded to Gayatri Project for Rs 1,900 crore. However, since Gayatri Project showed its inability to complete the said work of phase number 11 in 2021, it was awarded to the company called Huzoor Multi Project. It was awarded for a whopping Rs 2,700 crore with an increase of Rs 800 crore,' it said. Pawar's letter alleged that Huzoor Multi Project has a total of 1.52 crore shares, out of which 23 lakh shares are held by a relative of an officer linked to the MSRDC. 'That is why the tender was given at an inflated rate to the company…,' it said. Pawar mentioned in his complaint that the tender figures were inflated for the 179 km Jalna-Nanded work of Samruddhi Highway. 'Initially, the amount in this tender was fixed at Rs 11,442 crore, but it has been mentioned that it was actually given at Rs 15,554 crore. While the price was expected to come down during the tender process, it was given at an increased rate of Rs 4,442 crore. The central vigilance team too had taken a note of the tender given at the said increased rate and had suspended the process for time being,' the complaint said. Taking note of the cost escalation, Wadettiwar sought an inquiry from the PAG on May 28. He also wrote to the PWD secretary on the same day, asking him to submit a report.

Too early to conclude Air India crash cause: Aviation min on probe report
Union Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu on Saturday said that it is immature to jump to conclusions at the juncture over the recent Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad, as the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has only released the preliminary report. On June 12, a London-bound Air India flight, AI 171, crashed immediately after take off in Ahmedabad, killing 260 people. "So, let's not jump to any conclusions at this stage. Let us wait for the final report. These are technical things and that is why we have these investigation agencies. Once they are clear..., they are going to submit the final report. At this stage it will be very immature for me to comment on it," said Naidu. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of an official programme in the port city, the aviation minister heaped praise on the AAIB, Indian pilots and cabin crews, calling them the 'best' in the world. He also underscored that 'justice' has to be done to the family members of one of India's worst air disasters. "Justice has to be done. So, I know it is a very difficult time for the family members, but from our side, whatever best we can do from the ministry we are trying to assist," he added. Promising assistance to the AAIB in submitting the final report, the aviation minister noted that, "We have to wait for something 'concrete' to emerge. This is a preliminary report right now and from the ministry we are analysing the report but I think it would be better if we comment on it once the final report comes in." "We are hoping that as soon as possible the final report comes in then we can arrive at some conclusion," said Naidu, adding that there are multiple other things that also need to be looked into before preparing the final report. The minister, said for the first time that securing the black box and trying to decode its data is being done in India in the AAIB lab in Delhi. "So, I would like to appreciate all the efforts they put in to do a very transparent, very mature (and) professional way the investigation has been done," he said. Naidu also highlighted that AAIB has respected all the international protocols while preparing the report. Further, he eulogised Indian pilots and cabin crew, calling them 'the most wonderful workforce'. "I have to appreciate all the efforts the pilots and crew in this country are putting into aviation," he said, adding that they are the backbone and primary resource of civil aviation.
