EastEnders confirms Oscar Branning's sexuality as fans rave about newcomer
EastEnders has confirmed Oscar Branning's (Pierre Moullier) sexuality during a conversation with his uncle Jack (Scott Maslen).
The newcomer burst onto our screens yesterday, having been released from a three-month stretch in a young offenders for joyriding.
His sister Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) begrudgingly took him in, less than enthused by the fact that Oscar's associates tried to petrol bomb their mum Tanya's (Jo Joyner) house upon realising he'd tipped off the police about their actions.
He also became reacquainted with Ian and Peter Beale (Adam Woodyatt and Thomas Law), whom he hadn't seen since his childhood. From the moment Oscar laid his eyes on Peter, he became an unstoppable force of flirtation.
From nicknaming him 'Hot Pete' to promising not to watch him in the shower, exclaiming 'smash' as soon as he saw him, and telling Lauren that he wouldn't sleep with her fiancé, Lauren's little brother instantly made quite the impression.
Then, in tonight's episode, he woke up naked on the sofa and invited Peter to join him.
Utterly outrageous, but the fans are totally here for it.

'I think he's going to bring trouble to Lauren's door but he was pretty amusing – made a change from all the doom and gloom,' said Metro reader Nikki on Facebook.
'Finally we had a bit of a giggle watching!' added Sarah.
Donald agreed: 'At last, some relief from the misery.'
Later, Oscar sat down with Jack, who was hoping he would calm his chaotic ways after noticing him flirting with Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) in the cafe.
'I didn't think she was your type… she's a girl, isn't she?' probed Jack.
It was then that Oscar confirmed he 'swings both ways, innit.' He had a girlfriend before his time in youth offenders, but decided he was more attracted to her dad.

And – echoing the opinion of viewers across the land – his uncle replied: 'You're a chip off the old block, ain't ya.' More Trending
Of course, as fans know so well, Oscar's dad, Max Branning (Jake Wood), is quite the womaniser, and pretty much slept his way through Albert Square during his initial 15-year stint.
'When does a young gay (/bi?) character ever turn up happy with their sexuality right out of the gate?' wrote Jack on X.
Mark agreed, writing: 'Exactly – I loved the way he immediately started on the flirting with Peter, they should keep that as a running gag. The stuff with Ian was really funny too.'

Fresh horror for The Six in EastEnders as destructive report set to be filed
Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) threatens to blow The Six's cover in EastEnders next week. 18 months on from Keanu Taylor's (Danny Walters) death, the women are once again fearing that they'll end up behind bars. As viewers of the BBC One soap will recall, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) stabbed Keanu with a meat thermometer to prevent him throttling best mate Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean). Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth), Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish) then helped the ladies to conceal the murder, burying his body under the caff. Eventually, twisted Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) went to his grave with authorities believing that he was the one who committed the crime. But that wasn't before the grizzly truth was revealed to Keanu's grieving sister Bernie (Clair Norris). In the months that followed – now trustee of the Panesar business empire – she swindled the family out of thousands, placing fake invoices for repairs to their GP practice. It wasn't long after Vicki began some accountancy work on Bernie's behalf that her dodgy dealings were exposed. She threatened to tell the Panesars what Bernie was up to, unless she coughed up half of the cash so that she could pay off her debts to sister Sharon and ensure she had a roof over her head. Bernie reluctantly went along with the plan, but then turned the tables by framing Vicki. Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) knew that something suspicious was afoot after threatening Vicki and her partner's son Joel Marshall (Max Murray), and planted spyware in Bernie's laptop. The technology proved what she was up to – but before he could stop her, she fled to Spain. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? In the aftermath, the Panesars have found themselves in financial ruin and Ravi has turned to drug dealing. Vicki has found herself in a similar predicament, and she knows that unless she finds the cash, Sharon will kick her out. More Trending In upcoming scenes, Vicki meets with her aunty Kath' to discuss her problems, and says that she's considering reporting Bernie to the police. Now, as you can imagine, the last thing The Six need is further questioning and Bernie wouldn't hesitate to spill the truth if trouble came her way again. Desperate to find a resolution to their problems, Kathy calls Sharon to convince her to let Vicki stay put. View More » Will she be successful? Romance confirmed for Coronation Street duo as they share a kiss
A friendship has blossomed in Coronation Street between Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) and Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) – and it looks like it's about to grow into something more. After Lauren was hospitalised when she fell and suffered serious injuries while on drugs, she was pleased that Aadi frequently visited her. What she didn't realise was that he had a guilty conscience, as it was his fault that she'd accidentally taken the drugs in the first place. Aside from the guilt, though, he does seem to genuinely care about her. He offered to lend her some money to help her out with her new flat, and helped her move her stuff in. He even gave her a housewarming gift of an air fryer. It was all a bit too good to be true as far as Lauren was concerned. She's had some terrible experiences with men in her life and couldn't believe that Aadi was being nice to her and didn't want anything in return. When Shona (Julia Goulding) made a quip about boys Aadi's age all being after the same thing, Lauren thought this confirmed her fears and she tried to put some distance between herself and Aadi. Eventually she came to realise that he was just being kind, and in upcoming episodes she invites him for tea with her and her son Frankie, and becomes aware that she's starting to have feelings for him. Lauren's previous relationship was with Max Turner (Paddy Bever). He was with her when she killed the man who'd groomed and abused her, Joel Deering (Calum Lill), and was even prepared to go to prison for the killing himself so that she wouldn't have to be parted from her son Frankie. More Trending Max is currently in prison after setting the Platts' house on fire, hoping the insurance money would enable David to clear the debt he had with Harvey Gaskell. After all this turmoil will Lauren finally find some happiness with Aadi? She takes a step towards finding out in episodes airing soon, when Aadi admits that he likes her, too – and they share a kiss. Things are going well, until the following day Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) makes a clumsy remark about Lauren's dad being in prison. Lauren is hurt, but Dev soon makes amends with her and says he'd like to get to know her better. View More » With Dev's blessing, it looks like Aadi and Lauren are on track for a new romance.
