Maa Day 6 India Box Office: Kajol led supernatural-horror film adds Rs 2.35 crore net on Wednesday after Discount Tuesday

Pink Villa4 days ago
Maa, directed by Vishal Furia and starring Kajol, Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta and others, added Rs 2.35 crore to its tally on day 6 at the India box office. The film has dropped by 20 percent from Tuesday, but that is because it had discount offers yesterday, with ticket prices at Rs 149 or under, for the standard version, in most of the theatres screening the film. With Rs 2.35 crore, the 6 day total of Maa stands at Rs 25.35 crore.
The Day Wise India Net Collections Of Maa Are As Under
Maa Is Set To End Week 1 In The Rs 27 Crore Net Range; To Face Stiff Competition Going Forward
The first week is likely to close with collections of around Rs 27 crore net. This is quite alright for a Kajol led movie, playing alongside Sitaare Zameen Par and F1. Week 2 is going to be difficult as the supernatural-drama faces new rivals like Metro... In Dino and Jurassic World: Rebirth, along with its holdover rivals. The movie will have to sustain at Thursday levels on Friday and then manage astronomical growth on Saturday and Sunday, to be in contention to be a reasonable theatrical performer. If the film drops big on Friday, it will likely end its run in the vicinity of Rs 35 crore or so. Internationally, Maa hasn't put up much. A lifetime total of under USD 1 million seems certain.
Maa Is A Profitable Proposition For Producers
Optimistically, the film's global theatrical share will be around Rs 19-20 crore. With its good non-theatrical revenues courtesy its association with the Shaitaan universe, the movie should not lose producers any money. The film shall manage decent profits too, but you expect more from a movie that is directly linked to Shaitaan.

She recently appeared on Karan Johar's reality show The Traitors, further increasing her popularity. Reports Claim She Earns Rs 2.5 Lakh Daily and Has a Net Worth of Rs 41 Crore A report by Business Today claimed that Apoorva earns around Rs 2.5 lakh daily from brand collaborations, social media videos, and TV appearances. The article also suggested that her total net worth could be as high as Rs 41 crore, mainly due to her success on platforms like Instagram. This information went viral on social media, sparking debates and reactions from netizens. Many were shocked, especially when comparisons were made between her earnings and the income of academically accomplished individuals. IIT Alumnus Reacts: 'World's Truly Fair?' A now-viral post by an IIT graduate, @digitalsangghi on X (formerly Twitter) expressed frustration about the comparison between academic success and online fame. The post read: Viral post | Credit: X 'Studied 14 hours daily to crack IIT, gave up everything. Today? Barely 100 people know me. Meanwhile, someone earning crores by making reels with red lipstick and abuses becomes a star. Is the world fair?' The post added fuel to the conversation, with many agreeing while others defended Apoorva's right to earn from her creativity and popularity. Apoorva Reacts: 'Where is All This Money?' Apoorva Mukhija aka Rebel Kid | Credit: Insta/The Rebel Kid In an honest and humorous interview with Bollywood Bubble, Apoorva rubbished the Rs 41 crore net worth claims. Laughing at the reports, she said: 'I'm everywhere, but my net worth is not even close to Rs 41 crore. I don't even make one-tenth of that!' She further added that her clothes were rented, her heels dusty, her nails fake, and the most expensive thing she wore was a Rs 20,000 watch. Apoorva even shared how her mother was confused by the viral rumours. 'My mom sent me the screenshot and asked, 'Where's all this money? Why aren't we buying a house yet?' she joked. Does She Really Charge Rs 6 Lakh for a Reel? Contrary to online claims, Apoorva clarified that no brand currently pays her Rs 6 lakh for a reel, and that her income is much more modest than people assume. She playfully added: 'If I ever make Rs 10 crore, I'll retire. Someone take me there. Give me money!' Online Backlash and the Debate on Influencer Earnings The false claims around Apoorva Mukhija's net worth led to a wider discussion on social media about influencer culture, online earnings, and public perception. The Rebel Kid addressed it head-on in her Instagram story, sarcastically writing: 'Galat hai bhai???' (This is wrong, bro?) While she didn't win The Traitors, her bold personality and quick wit made her one of the most talked-about contestants. Apoorva's charm lies in her honesty — she doesn't pretend to live a glamorous life and isn't afraid to laugh at exaggerated reports about her earnings. What's the Real Story Behind Rebel Kid's Net Worth? In today's social media age, rumours spread fast — and so do assumptions about influencers' wealth. While many believe that Apoorva Mukhija, aka Rebel Kid, has built a Rs 41 crore net worth, she's made it clear that the figures being circulated are far from the truth. Her actual income is not as extravagant as claimed, and for now, rented clothes and modest living reflect her reality more than multi-crore figures.

The show will feature a 'Rewind' theme, the return of the Secret Room, and a longer runtime of 5.5 months. Apoorva Mukhija has been approached, while Ram Kapoor has declined participation. Salman Khan will be back to host one of the most popular TV shows, Bigg Boss 19. Bigg Boss is back — and this time, it's pushing boundaries like never before. The iconic reality show, hosted once again by Salman Khan, is all set for its 19th season with a format shake-up, a record-breaking runtime, and its most unconventional contestant yet: an AI-powered robot doll named Habubu. Bigg Boss 19 is shaping up to be a season like no other. In a groundbreaking first for the franchise, Bigg Boss 19 will welcome Habubu, an interactive AI robot doll developed by UAE-based company IFCM. Known for her expressive face, traditional Arabic attire, and multilingual capabilities (including Hindi), Habubu has already built a massive fan base in the Gulf. She's equipped with conversational intelligence, emotional recognition, and domestic functionality — features that could give her an unexpected edge in a high-pressure social experiment like Bigg Boss. IFCM, notably, also managed former contestant Abdu Rozik, further fueling curiosity around Habubu's performance inside the house. Social media personality Apoorva Mukhija, aka, Rebel Kid, confirmed in a Pinkvilla interview that she was approached for the show. While she didn't give a definitive yes or no, she said, 'Never say never.' However, Apoorva added that being in a confined space could trigger anxiety for her. 'As someone who already overthinks, it's a tough space,' she said, but didn't rule it out completely, admitting that 'paise se kya hai upar duniya mein?' Superstar Salman Khan will return as the host of Bigg Boss 19, reaffirming his position as the franchise's anchor. As per a Pinkvilla report, the teaser shoot is scheduled between July 8 and 12. The show, produced by Banijay Asia, will debut directly on television in August before transitioning to its OTT version later in the season. This dual-format run is expected to last 5.5 months, making it the longest season in Bigg Boss history. Business Standard, citing a source who spoke to SCREEN, shared that this year's tentative theme is titled Rewind, suggesting a nostalgic throwback to earlier seasons. The show will also bring back the beloved 'Secret Room' — a hidden chamber where the bottom two contestants are placed in isolation to observe the game unfold from afar. This element was a fan favourite in earlier seasons and is expected to introduce unexpected twists to the gameplay. In an interview with Filmibeat, actor Ram Kapoor firmly dismissed rumours of joining Bigg Boss 19. He stated that reality shows like Bigg Boss aren't for him, saying even an offer of ₹20 crore wouldn't persuade him. He believes such shows are mostly about voyeurism, and it's about people watching others living their lives. He also added that he prefers to remain a private person and believes he wouldn't be a good fit for the names have surfaced as potential housemates this season- Tiger Shroff's sister, Krishna Shroff, who was last seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, Shilpa Shetty Kundra's husband, Raj Kundra, actresses Tanushree Dutta, Mamta Kulkarni and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame, Babitaji, aka Munmun Dutta. Kajol Was Hesitant To Play Rape Victim In Dushman Until Pooja Bhatt Stepped In: 'I Refused Because...'

Kajol says she initially refused Dushman due to rape scenes. Pooja Bhatt assured her a body double would be used and nothing uncomfortable would be filmed. Even after 25 years, Dushman continues to linger in the minds of viewers, largely due to Ashutosh Rana's terrifying portrayal of the sadistic killer Gokul Pandit. The 1998 psychological thriller, directed by Tanuja Chandra and produced by Pooja Bhatt, was a bold film that tackled themes of trauma, justice, and inner strength. At its emotional core was Kajol, who played dual roles—twin sisters whose lives are shattered by a brutal crime. In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Kajol opened up about the emotional turmoil and hesitation she experienced before accepting the role. She revealed that she initially refused the project, despite being deeply moved by the story. 'It was a very difficult role. It was a subject matter. I had refused the film. Pooja Bhatt had approached me for the film because she was producing it, she wanted me to do the film. But I was like, 'I love the script. I love the idea, but I don't want to portray any kind of molestation or rape on screen. Not because of anything else but as an actor when you are acting in that emotion, you feel all those things. As an actor, I don't need to do that. I can show my acting prowess in other things," she recalled. Kajol's apprehension was rooted not just in the graphic nature of the scenes, but the emotional toll such performances can take on an actor. However, what eventually convinced her was the unwavering support and empathy shown by the film's female-led creative team. 'Then Tanuja and Pooja made me understand. They said, 'Don't worry about it. We are women, we understand, and we will figure this out, and we will shoot with a body double and we will do this and that, and we will not do anything that you are uncomfortable with at any point,' so yes, that's how Dushman came to be," she said. In the film, Kajol's performance is a powerful embodiment of vulnerability and strength. One sister is brutally raped and murdered by the psychotic Gokul Pandit, while the other—devastated and haunted—embarks on a path of revenge. Her transformation is aided by a blind ex-army officer, played by Sanjay Dutt, who trains her to confront her sister's killer and reclaim her power. Though released in the same year as Kajol's mega-blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dushman carved a very different space for itself in Indian cinema. Where one celebrated youthful romance, the other dove deep into psychological trauma and female resilience. Dushman didn't cater to mainstream tastes, but its bold narrative, taut direction, and unflinching performances earned it a cult status over time. First Published:
