A US police officer smashed the window of a man's car, then twice hits him in the head after he was pulled over for 'not having his headlights on#'.
Video footage shows the shocking incident, which happened in Jacksonville, Florida in February, but has just been shared by the driver on Instagram.
Posting under the handle @904will, the man said he was stopped by policeover his headlights being off in daylight, when there was 'no rain, smoke or fog'.
In the clip, the driver is heard asking an officer standing on the passenger side of the vehicle why he was stopped as 'there's no rain.'
The officer, who is out of shot, replies: 'It doesn't matter – you're still required to have headlights on.'
The man asks to see the law, to which the officer says he'll show it once he's stepped out of the car.
The driver then asks for a 'a supervisor' to be called, at which point – as the man writes in the caption – 'things escalated quickly'.
The video shows a policeman punching through the driver's door window, shouting, 'Exit the vehicle now'.
He then hits the man in the head, repeatedly telling him to get out of the car.
Despite the ambush the man remains calm, and although he doesn't get out of the vehicle he puts his hands up when asked, and shows no sign of being a threat.
He's then dragged out of the car and surrounded by at least two officers, with the one who punched him earlier hitting him in the head a second time and slamming him to the ground.
This time the driver sounds panicked and shouts at them to stop, before he's handcuffed and told he's being arrested for resisting.
In his post, the man said he suffered 'a chipped tooth and nine plus stitches' in his lips.
He also said he had 'a concussion and short term memory loss' from the assault.
He added that it had been 'very hard' on his mental health.
'I'm not mentally healed from this but I had to get the word out eventually,' he said.
Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters said in a statement shared on social media on Sunday that an internal investigation has been launched. More Trending
They said: 'We are aware of a video circulating on social media showing a traffic stop represented to be from February 19, 2025.
'We have launched an internal investigation into it and the circumstances surrounding this incident.
'We hold our officers to the highest standards and are committed to thoroughly determining exactly what occurred.'

Thief hides 76 bottles of stolen wine in wheelie bin and flees in tuk-tuk

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A tuk-tuk driver was caught on CCTV using a wheelie bin to steal 76 bottles of wine in thefts that amounted to £24,000. Iuliu Kubola broke into a restaurant in central London on May 6 before loading the haul into his pedicab and cycling away. The 61-year-old was arrested when a vigilant police officer recognised him as a person of interest following a police briefing. PC Jordan Felstead stopped the Islington resident outside a bar in the Cornhill financial heartland on June 22. After making enquiries with the City of London Police's Criminal Investigations Department, he discovered that Kubola was a suspect connected to a spate of burglaries. He had been seen on CCTV taking the bottles of wine, putting them into the bin and loading it into the back of his pedicab. Kubola returned to the Threadneedle Street restaurant on June 15 to steal a further three bottles, worth around £680. He went back four days later but left without taking anything. Det Con Marcus Fairclough, of the Criminal Investigation Department, said: 'Thanks to the good work by our officers, who spotted him and quickly made enquiries and the arrest, Iuliu Kubola will face the consequences of his criminality. 'Burglary has a significant impact on businesses and residential communities. 'We will attend all reports of break-ins in the city; giving us the best chance of making an arrest and collecting evidence from a scene. 'We will always take this type of criminality seriously and thoroughly investigate all evidential leads, including forensics, to bring those perpetrators to justice.' Kubola damaged an external door and locks, costing £1,425 to repair. Physical forensics manager Andrew Walker said: 'Our fast response is vital to maximise forensic opportunities and lessen the impact on the victims. 'Being burgled is horrendous; not being able to tidy up or open your business and resume trading exacerbates this massively. More Trending 'The victim is at the heart of everything we do. Delivering them justice, whilst minimising the impact that crime has on them, is the bedrock on which City of London Police Forensic Services operates.' City of London Police said it is one of the few forces where scenes of crimes officers go to every incident where forensics can be recovered and it does not screen out 'low level' crime. Kubola will be sentenced in September. Do you have a story you would like to share? EastEnders star confirms different side to Oscar as things take a turn

Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier) is set to do something 'awful' to Peter Beale (Thomas Law) in EastEnders next week. The newcomer has made quite the impact on Albert Square and viewers alike ever since he arrived in the BBC One soap last week. Sister Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) was forced to take him in after being released from a three-month stretch in a young offenders institute, where he'd spent time for joyriding. Their mum Tanya (Jo Joyner) had made it clear that he wasn't welcome to return to her house as a result of the dodgy characters he was hanging around with. When Oscar tipped off the police about their involvement in the car robbery, they attempted to petrol bomb his property, mistakenly targeting the neighbours instead. Despite his attempts to escape his brutish mates, they've tracked him down to Walford and are seeking revenge. 'Oscar feels threatened as Mike (Tai Hilferink) is a serious guy who doesn't seem to care about getting caught or the consequences,' actor Pierre told us. 'Since he arrived in the Square, Oscar has been all fun and games, but you'll see another side of him this week because Mike wants to make him suffer for what he's done!' To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video And Pierre's right – next week's episodes see him launch an attack on an apparent intruder, believing it's Mike. Lauren learns that the thug has been threatening Oscar, and has left a knife as a way of threatening him. She reckons that their their uncle Jack (Scott Maslen) should be alerted for protection. 'Oscar believes getting Jack involved will only make things worse because if Mike finds out that there's a policeman in his family, he'll be even more on [his] case,' Pierre explains. 'I think that because Oscar is a smooth talker and he's been getting himself out of tight spots all his life, he believes he can do it again…' Things soon kick off, and Jack's forced to intervene. Lauren gives her brother a final warning, but that night, his paranoia intensifies when he hears a noise coming from the hallway. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Sneaking up on a hooded figure, he goes in to attack – unaware that it's actually Peter Beale (Thomas Law) in his dressing gown. 'It's so awful for Oscar when he realises that he's done this to Peter, who has been kind enough to take him in. More Trending 'Oscar plays lots of games with people, but deep down, he'll do anything for the people he cares for, and Peter has become one of those people, so this is awful.' And, despite Oscar receiving his marching orders, Pierre reckons there could be one saving grace. 'No matter how many times he messes up, Lauren is still there for him and backing him, which really surprises him. Sumeera Rajput, who had thousands of followers and over a million likes on the social media platform, was discovered in the Bago Wah area of Ghotki, in northern Sindh, Pakistan, in yet another case of violence against women content creators in the country. She claimed her mum was given poisonous tablets, which led to her death, reports say. Sumeera's brother has also made the same accusation. Police have taken two suspects into custody and authorities are currently investigating whether foul play was involved. According to reports, an autopsy has been ordered, but the results are yet to be confirmed. Sumeera's death comes weeks after police in Pakistan said TikTok sensation Sana Yousaf, 17, was murdered in her own home following "repeated rejections" of a man who had tried to "reach out to her time and again." A 22-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of murder after had been spotted lingering outside Sana's residence for hours. Police said the teenager became the victim of the "gruesome and cold-blooded murder" in Islamabad, Pakistan, following the rejections, which went on for some time. The boy was trying to reach out to her time and again." Sana had more than one million TikTok followers. On her Instagram profile, Waliya Najib, a renowned Pakistani actress and social media influencer, penned a heartfelt message: "This doesn't feel real. "You were glowing, just being 17. I'm so sorry this world didn't protect you. Rest in peace, sweetheart [broken-heart emoji]." Another devastated individual shared: "This news shook me, you deserved the world Sana. Rest in peace."
